| Released in 2001, the 12-ep. Hanaukyo maids is a cute romantic comedy w/ a considerable amount of fan service to delight mostly the male otakus.Taro is an amusing lead character as he is quite lucky to be attended by very beautiful and enthusiastic girls but is inflicted w/ major "allergy" attack when gets in too much contact w/ women.
While the plot is mostly funny, the series also touches on the topic of android-human relationship much like the more widely popular CLAMP series, Chobits.
The story is pretty much of standard harem genre and dosen't offer much that would suggest a sense of unique identity. but if you are looking for a simple uncomplicated story w/ a dose of comedy and ecchi,then you'll enjoy Hanaukyo maids.

| A young man inherits a house which is full of maids who are there to keep him satisfied. Sounds like an intro for some sort of B-grade porno flick, right? Hanauyko Maid-Tai is pretty much like that. Only thing is that it much more banal and mundane. Which boggles the mind - how can such a series with such a plot NOT be a good ecchi. The plot has everything which can make it a good - you have maids who at an instant strip naked and want to rub their breasts against the owner (a 14 year midget, I refuse to describe him as anything than that). And this is turned into something un-fanservicable by the midget fainting since he is allergic to girls. *bangs his head on the wall*
What went wrong in this anime is the fact that the makers tried to introduce something more than just ecchi into the series - that is a story. They tried to make a romance between the midget and one of the maids. They even introduced characters (a maid who is a software specialist) who are so lame that they make they make look characters of Girls Bravo like intellectual, intelligent characters. And many of the characters are rip-offs - there is a maid who invents weird objects with a smiley on them. Who does she think she is? Koala Su? This isn’t Love Hina!!!
As shameful it is for me to admit, I did expect some story when the episode count hit the double digit mark. *can hear people laughing hysterically* The 9th episode of the series did have some sort of a story setup which I was hoping would make some sort of appearance by the end. But the end was a filler. Even worse is that the last episode shows us that we are to expect the next 3 episodes of an OVA sometime soon. I hope armageddon come before this calamity strikes the anime kingdom.
There is no point by going on how bad this series is. The list is too long. With a story consisting of 12 filler episodes - this is one series you should see just to find out how bad an ecchi series can get. Let me keep things short - This is one of the WORST ecchi series I've seen.

| To put in simple this show kick ass.
There are hordes of harem animes filled with cliche ecchi such as blushing or incidental showing of breast or ass. They all have stupid plots and undesicive protagonists. It always amazed me how come that such things are so popular and yet nobody tries to make something more ecchi without crossing the hentai border.
On the other hand, here we have a fullmilment of all mens' desires - kid got a huge mansion filled with cute maids willing to do anything for their master. There're a security maid unit, washing unit and even warming-bed-with-sex unit. They also put in some pretty good humor. (There's a scene in bathroom that almost looked like girl giving a handjob to protagonist)
I'd recommend this show for those who seek fanservice and good laugh and don't want to waste their time on plot revealing. Some anime makes you think (nge), and this one will make you laugh.

| This is something like an ecchi version of Little Lord Fauntleroy - a kid's mom dies, so he lives with his grandfather. Grandpa is something of a pervert, as three of his maids sole function was sto sleep in the same bed with him and bathe with him. Mariel gets kidnapped and so Taro wants to rescue her.

| Debo admitir que esperaba algo mas de este titulo en particular, pero, a pesar de todo lo encontre verdaderamente entretenido; aunque algunas de las bromas eran algo trilladas, por alguna razon me veia riendo sin ninguna opcion.
El hecho de que taro-sama fuera alergico a las mujeres me puso los nervios de punta mas de una vez, pero, viendolo desde un punto logico, si esto no fuera asi, la serie seguramente hubiera sido hentai en vez de ecchi.
La falta de un final me dejo con las esperanza de algun capitulo especial en donde todo se resuelva (sigo esperando!!!).
Para finalizar debo añadir, que por algun motivo encontre los ultimos episodios algo repetitivos, sin embargo estos sumaban un poco de mas "historia" a la serie, lo que al final resulta ser una buena cosa, si acaso te interesa saber mas de los personajes.
Una buena serie para observar si deseas reir un rato, al menos lo que yo encontre de bueno, supero a lo malo...

| I absolutely depise it. I've seen many many animes and i dare consider myself a veteran anime watcher, but i wasn't able to find any redeeming value in this anime. In fact i was so bored watching this junk i stopped waching and picked it back up very recently to just finish it. and i can say that i really wasted my time. This is among the worst fan service loaded anime i've seen. Don't touch this one.
Animation is horrible. Colors are lame, character designs are stupid and generic, andeven the set designs are some of the worst and unoriginal set designs i've seen in a long time. Tarou has to be one of the most dumbest looking lead male i've seen in a long time and all the maid for some reason look exactly the same except for Myriel beause she have purple hairs.
what even worse is sound. The OP is absolutely horrible to a point i skipped it eveytime. ED is even worse and ED animation (live-action footages) are incredibly unsatisfying. Background music is downright flat and annoying. To top this all off the seiyuu work is... well... nothing spectacular.
Now even with ad presentation it is possible to have good anime with some solid characters and story. This anime has none. All the characters are cliche Harem characters that we've seen before. a boy with girl allergy and maids frolicking over his master. We've seen all that before.
If there is one thing they do right, it is the fan service. They throw it at you in truck-full. naked women body sponging or crawling up on you legs on night time... it's all here.
This is bad anime. If you want some quality Harem anime you should give Mahoromatic, which i consider it to be the king of all maid anime, Midori no Hibi, Chobits, Love Hina, Oneigai Teacher, or Ai Yori Aoshi if you haven't tried any of these.

| A surprisingly entertaining Ecchi flick. And I don't mean entertaining because it's incredibly bad like the Onegai series.
Ecchi and Comedy. That pretty much sums up this anime. Those two are also two of my least favourite genres. Ecchi... well, I just hate things like this.This is no exception, except that a lot of the time I was able to overlook it for some reason. The comedy... I have to say, though I'm really not a fan of this type of comedy, this anime really had me laughing outloud on numerous occasions. I don't know how, but I actually quite liked this for the majority of the anime. There's not much of a continuous storyline, it is more of a collection of mini adventures focussing upon the different characters of the anime.
Aside from the comedy, the characters are probably what made this anime so charming. Apart from the really annoying maids, a lot of the characters are actually genuinly likeable, like the main character, Mariel, Cynthia/Grace etc.
Though an Ecchi, this entertained me to the extent that I was considering keeping it at one point. Unforuntately, the last couple of episodes were a bit poor. The jokes felt contrived and the series was brought back down to the normal Ecchi level. At the end of the day, nothing was really resolved in the anime, which was a major disappointment for me. So now I'm not so sure I want to keep it. Still, this felt far more genuine than the Onegai series, and was sufficiently entertaining so that I feel I wasn't forcing myself to watch it, unlike the majority of Nadesico. It's unfortunate that it is marred by the ecchi in it. But without it, perhaps this anime wouldn't be what it is. Maybe it took comparisons with the shallow characters to bring out the better one. But I'd have preferred it if they left the good characters out of the pr0n scenes :/

| The animation is pretty good, specially how they make Tarou having small eyes. IT really matches his personality of being allergic to girls. The animation should is pretty good. However, the ending maids are not such a good idea because they are not really cute, also i thought they should be pretty young or something similar.
The story is about Tarou being a simple kid, suddenly turned from a regular like to a right and powerful life, where lots lots of maids serve him. This is really funny and ecchi too.
I really enjoyed watching this anime. Even though there were some ecchi parts. It was just really funny, and I recommend it to everyone to watch it.

| This anime is not the best maid anime, but when the comedy kicks in, you could be laughing non-stop. Most of the time the comedy part comes during ecchi scenes.
Each episode is different, with 15 episodes in all, and no continuation story line. its fun to watch if you are that pervert, but really just for laughs
Try watching mahoromatic, if you are into this type of anime. Mahoromatic has ecchi, comedy and good story line.
And for just pure pleasure, there is always DearS, where its just mindless as this one but slightly better.
Value depends on how well the season 2 of this anime.

| Apart from this having no real ending, and the lack of a "real" romance or something(which I think most shows like this need to have), it was quite entertaining.
Not anything special about the animation, nor the music, but I liked the voice actors, those were well chosen.
The characters was also quite good, with no really annoying character.
Mariel is one of my favourites, and the three "special-services" maids :)
No real story, and not really any developement in it. But other than that, I really liked this show. It mostly have fanservice, but since I like fanservice(afterall, it's FANservice, so I'm supposed to like it) it is a plus.
Hanaukyo Maid Tai doesn't hold back anything, no attempts to hide or censor anything, which is good.
The episodes only being about 12 minutes bugged me abit though.
Overall I liked Hanaukyo Maid Tai enough to think it was well worth to watch.
Don't get me wrong though, cause it's really nothing special, and not at all a "must watch".
If you are feeling you need to relax with a light-hearted show, between all those "big" titles out there, then go see this.

| A cute little throwaway anime. nice and short, no pretentions, and no story to speak of. but a nice time.
Each episode is pretty much stand alone, though the framework for the whole series is how Toro learns to fit into his new home. Toto is a complete push-over and the maids do pretty much whatever they want. add in a rival of a sort, and a multi-personality maid, and the series is complete.
Still, it was fun enough and I found it entertaining enough to watch the whole series. it helps that each episode is only 15 minutes long.

| Auch Hanaukyo Maid Tai fällt in die Sparte der Animes die versuchen durch nichts als Ecchi den Zuschauer für sich zu gewinnen. Worauf das hinaus läuft dürfte weitestgehend klar sein: Es gibt weder eine Story, noch wird irgendeiner Weise auf die Charaktere eingegangen, Höhepunkte bleiben komplett aus und der Anspruch sowie das Niveau sinkt auf nimmer wieder sehen in den Keller. Was dann noch von Hanaukyo Maid Tai übrig bleibt ist extrem lahme Comedy mit standardmäßigen Ecchi-Jokes und natürlich Nacktheit auf Seiten der weiblichen Darsteller. Ich bin Ecchi nicht abgeneigt aber damit ich einer Serie etwas abgewinnen kann brauch es wenigstens etwas ähnliches wie Storyline oder Andeutungen von interessanten Figuren und das ist hier in keinster Weise gegeben, was es mir unmöglich gemacht hat mich an diesem Anime zu erfreuen. Wer keinen Wert auf solche "Nebensächlichkeiten" legt (Vorsicht Sarkasmus) und jedes Mal im Dreieck springt sobald es nackte Brüste und Höschen zu sehen gibt hat hier sicherlich sein Arkadia vor Augen. Für mich war dieser Anime nicht mehr als Verschwendung meiner wertvollen Zeit!

| This anime doesn't have like a build-up kinda story line, it's more like a fun series you watch for a good laugh.
Yes, it is funny. No, there isn't a blast of an ending that answers the questions, but neither will it leave you in pain because of the cliff hanger, because it's fun to watch. Unique anime i must say.

| This is a very hilarious ecchi anime, but that's about it on the good part for it.
This 15 episodes anime contains no story at all, rather every episodes have its own story and there isn't any ending! The episodes are funny for a while, but it can get old quite fast.
You really need to lay back and just go with the flow of the anime or else you'll be having a hard time enjoying it. Just chill out and you'll be laughing out loud at the TV screen.

| This anime is only an ecchi comedy, but at the same time, is an excelent anime.
The animation its good, well isn't an amazing work, but it's good. The sound is acceptable, there are no remarkable melodies, but it's good. The story is simple, a boy became the head of hanaukyo family and went to a mansion at all of maids that they wanna do all for his master ( well maybe a little ecchi but simple ( n.n" ) ). The characters probably are the best of this anime, they are all special, the maids are maybe a bit ecchi ( except Mariel ), Hanaukyo maybe is a bit stupid, he has all what he can dream, but at the same time, he refuse the help of maids ( but this is at the same time that is the base of that anime ( this and ecchi ( lol ) ) ).
Afterall, this anime is only a comedy, but a really funny comedy ( if you don't laugh with maybe you are not human ), but it isn't more than a ecchi comedy, if you are bored, see it, this isn't an essential anime for an anime-fan or similar, but it's funny, I recommend it.

| This anime is definatly something that I'd watch after a difficult day of work or class, just sit around with some anime-otaku and enjoy! :)
This series should be watched by an adult before any younger viewer is allowed to watch it though. But, for older audiences, I think that the should is just out right funny. :)

| The good: a boy gets rich and inherits his relative's mansion filled with girls with puffy breasts and get naked for him.
the bad: boy is allergic to all girls except mariel. hence no action and very very very limited storyline
bottomline: if you want to fulfill your dreams of being the only man in a mansion surrounded by about 500 maids, watching this anime is about as close as it gets. then *poof* dream ends and disappears from memory forever like a cheap flick. see it for that cheap flick and don't consider that it's pretty damn boring

| Hmm¡K. Firstly, I like the opening song sang by Ishida Yoko ¡V Towa No Hana. What is this anime about? Well, a 14-year-old inherited a big mansion owned by his grandfather with a big compound and lots of maids. That¡¦s where the anime title came from. So, typical Japanese anime with the word maid will for sure have a bit of ecchi in it. (what you expect??)
Main character is this little kid¡Kwhich I forgotten his name and also Mariel¡K(her name I remember¡Khahaha) which can be regarded as the Head Maid in this mansion¡KI think.
This anime has a number of weak points¡K firstly, this goddamn anime is too short¡K with 14-16 minutes per episodes what depth of story line can you get? The opening and closing songs already steal a few minutes away. Pathetic¡K. But every episode is rather enjoyable. Topless girls running around once a while is a common scene in this anime. Nothing offensive to me coz its mild nudity¡Kyeah right.
Secondly, the goddamn kid hardly opens his eyes wide. Always being drawn with that stupid look on his face. Even with topless girls standing in front of him, he still maintains that stupid look¡K except when Mariel is around him.
Third weakness is that why in the world put a 14-year-old, short and allergic to girls kid as the main character??? Being allergic to girls simply put me off. Surrounded by beauties and yet changes colour every time. And why isn¡¦t he allergic to Mariel??? Don¡¦t tell me that she is actually NOT A GIRL BUT A GUY??? (this reminds me of â€ΕΎÂ³I, My,Me! Strawberry Eggs) I think the whole allergic thing is just a fake.
The last weakness is that there is hardly any ending¡K.yup¡Kno ending. It just stops abruptly. See for yourself¡K and you will agree with me.
So, did he confess his profound love to Mariel? Did he finally get over his allergy? Did he ¡K what the heck¡K just watch it and you will know.
