Step into the world of high school romance. Momo, Toji, Sae and Kairi are the main four characters who take the viewer through a range of emotions. In a year in a half we'll encounter jealousy, love and enduring friendship. Sometimes love isn't about what we have, but we we're willing to lose.

I'm quite confused with how the ranking system works here.Peach Girl
has an 8+ rating and unranked? Then I saw some with 6+ average making it
to the top 200.Ah well,it isn't all that important but sometimes I search
the top 200 anime here for my next anime.Other animes too, like Kaleido Star...

That aside,Peach Girl was a decent watch for me.The main thing I really
liked was the light-hearted comedy. It felt pretty natural.I was most of the time grinning
whenever Sae or Okayasu is up to something. They really made the entire humor
like the guy before said.It was exceptionally alluring when it came right after some
dramatic moments, which this anime has plenty...

Anything else is just average or below. The story is seriously what you will expect for
a romance drama,if not;worse.Nothing special at all,it is just like you have seen it somewhere
from a TV serial--those love triangles...Therefore,it wasn't quite the emotional ride in the end.Half of the time other than laughing or praying things to get better,I was either cursing or mumbling what some characters could have done so situation aren't that bad.It was alright at the start but towards the end,it became so unbearable that I wished I could slap them awake. Many examples but it'd be bad to spoil.
The setting was pretty realistic too,it was kinda refreshing which is good.I'd hate to get the NHK
atmosphere,it felt so awful when I'm watching it.

Peach Girl is the sort of anime I would watch after those serious animes.Peach Girl, however,is
serious itself at some point, around the later quarter.I'm quite sure guys won't enjoy this much, after all it is a shoujo anime...Still,Peach Girl is very entertaining.

Peach Girl is as “shoujo” as shoujo animes can get...it's very girly, and at first I didn't like it! I thought the character art was bad. Their eyes were too big and too close together. I also wasn't liking the message of one skin tone/shade being better than the other so I was just going to write this show off. But for whatever reasons I didn't, and the show did eventually get better. Peach Girl—like most other animes of this genre—is about school life and relationships; love triangles...love squares...love [insert your favourite geometric shapes here!] There is a certain level of predictability in this series but then stuff does get pretty hectic and random and you just don't know how it's all going to end up. I can also really respect the fact that the supporting characters were given pretty sizable roles and were developed very well.

Momo-chan is very pretty and very sensitive despite the fact that people think she's a slut/ganguro-girl! I liked her sense of style and I liked the art-style they used for drawing her at the closing credits [actually I think the art-style for the ED credits were better than the anime]. Sae is annoying but is a good girl at heart, she's 50% responsible for all the humor in the series...so even-though technically she's a “bad-guy” you'll be laughing at half the shit she does. The other half of the humor comes from Kairi Okayasu, who's goofy antics makes him very lovable [and also his loyalty to Momo-chan]. Touji is quiet and very mature. He's the third side of the main love triangle [Okayasu-Momo-Touji], Touji takes the high road and makes all the tough decisions....you can't help but respect him for that. Personally, I was hoping for a twisted miracle and that all three would date each other, but maybe that was asking for too much!

The ED song is the best song for this series and it's the song that they used for the final scene...I don't think I would buy the soundtrack for this series tho.

I would only recommend this show to other girls and sensitive boys. People who like a good shoujo drama.

Great Love-Romance/Drama series!

Momo Adachi is a high-schooler who tans easily and was on the swim team, but she gets the reputation of being slutty because people think she tans like that at a salon. Her "best friend," Sae, is a girl who is a copycat, jealous of Momo, and tries to steal away her crush. Momo's crush happens to be Toji, a serious athletic guy whom she's liked since middle school, but when Sae asks her who Momo's crush is, Momo (to prevent Sae stealing Toji) points to the most popular boy in school--Kairi Okayasu!

It turns out Momo saved Kairi at the ocean once, and this turns into a crazy love triangle!

Pros:
- Good animation and music;
- Characters you care about (Momo, Toji, Kairi, Misao...) and characters you love to hate but learn more about (Sae);
- Good plot.

Cons:
- The ending wasn't what I wanted. >.< But I won't say what happens. :o)

Oh man, this anime is one hell of an emotional rollercoaster. One of the worst thinigs about this series is the fact that the characters go from happy to sad in such a short amount of time, so it's really hard to catch up and soak in the story. I don't think Peach Girl is a particular good anime, but it has so many things going on one after another and keeps me entertained. This was a series where I had trouble putting it down simply because I kept wondering what would happen next. However, when it finally came to an end and I had some time to reflect, it really wasn't anything special.

Peach Girl is filled with drama... lots and lots of it. There are tons of situations and misunderstandings that plague the main characters, which keeps the story going. At the same time, it is kinda annoying and frustrating because they don't act like NORMAL people. Momo reads into everything so easily and quickly, she barely has time to question why something was done, such as Okayusa being late for their trip because he had to bring Misao to the hospital after Ryo was attacked. Since the story revolves around Momo and her love interests, it would be good to have her act a little more sensible. I think it would help if she actually asked more questions for clarifications, but of course, that would progress things too quickly and make this anime shorter and less interesting.

Do I recommend this anime? Surprisingly, yes. When watching Peach Girl, you will get sad, happy, teary-eyed, and angry. There may be times where you'll curse at the characters for their stupidity or weakness, but when all is said and done, you'll look back and realized that while it isn't a great series, you enjoyed watching it. It is good, wholesome entertainment and for that, I am recommending it with 2 thumbs up.

One of the drawbacks of years of watching anime (especially those in a particular genre) is that one becomes self-consciously aware of formula: the clichés, the archetypes, and the by-product themes. Peach Girl is a shoujo and an incredibly generic and hilariously predictable shoujo at that. Any viewer old enough to watch Pokemon within closed doors can guess when a kiss is going to be interrupted, when a character is going to walk into a situation at the wrong time, or the over-the-top result of an over-the-top dilemma. Peach Girl would make one hell of a drinking game. Despite this, though, Peach Girl manages to be immensely entertaining. I was thoroughly engrossed and active while watching this; I gritted my teeth at certain moronic decisions and called certain characters names that even Webster wouldn’t dare say. And in some cases, that is really all that matters.

Peach Girl’s plot is laid out in the opening episode: the “love triangle” and Sae’s (the main character’s, uh, “friend) manipulative tricks to make Momo, the protagonist, unhappy. The idea that a girl is prejudged because of her skin tone actually would have made a great idea, but the execution of this idea is feeble; the anime is trying to say that appearances can be deceiving, but because of Momo’s over-the-top paranoia of her skin tone, the idea is just hard to swallow. Fortunately, the series drops this notion as it becomes more focused on Momo’s relationship with the two boys. The first six or so episodes are rather lame with pathetic attempts at comedy (usually involving the annoyingly derivative interaction between Momo and Okayasu, love interest #2) and Touji’s (love interest #1) unbelievably idiotic belief in anything Sae says. The turning point at episode ten brings the series up notches (some events are surprisingly touching), and despite the raging melodrama and laughable coincidences, Peach Girl is entertaining. The cliffhangers at the end of each episode makes it hard to stop watching……which is saying a lot because, hey, you already know what’s going to happen next.

When the story is surprisingly entertaining, the characters are a mixed bag. Momo is your typical shoujo heroine. You know the type. The type that sends a guy flying through the air while screaming out “pervert!” after he cops a feel. She’s likable in the start of the series, but in the end, she proves herself to be a dumb ass. The decisions this chick makes had me shaking my head and yelling crude epithets at my computer screen. And Touji is a goddamn ROCK. His stupidity is beyond belief, and despite his apparent importance to the storyline, his character is flat, unemotional, and one dimensional (not to mention incredibly annoying). In any case, he dishonorably earned spot #3 on my most annoying anime male list. The two bright spots of the series are Sae and Okayasu. Sae is great because when she lets out her evil giggle and sprouts cats ears, you can’t help but grin yet at the same time, you clap your hands when she gets her comeuppance. And yet again, when her manipulation become more elaborate and cruel, she becomes the most sympathetic character in the entire series…and the most developed. Okayasu starts off as an irritating side character, but becomes a great, emotional whirlwind later on. A little too emotional at times. Sometimes I would mutter, "Oh, get a grip, ya sissy." But the best scenes are with him. The anime is so focused on the four main characters that supporting acts are nearly non-existent, but there are one or two that stand out, most particularly Okayasu’s older brother.

Perhaps it’s because shoujo is my weak spot. Or maybe it’s simply because I enjoyed Peach Girl for all the wrong reasons. Whatever the case may be, I actually recommend this if you enjoy shoujo….or haven’t read the manga. Just make sure you watch with low expectations. And a case of beer.

This anime might at first seem like a ditsy stereotypically idiotic story about a girl and her highschool life, but it's definitely not. This anime has the power to make one laugh and then cry within seconds. It truly does touch you deep inside and provide insight in the story, as well as one's life. It's exciting, it keeps you going and it's a very good story. =D Thumbs up.

Well, this anime had a good start but by the middle it was a bore. Honestly, I really do not have much to say except it will keep you entertained (even if u do not really like shoujo) for a while and then it becomes pretty formulaic and boring :-/.

Peach Girl is basically a romantic anime, more thought for females. It has a classic love triangle and lots of drama.

Overall it's quite fun to watch. Recommended for everyone who doesn't mind romantic stories and especially who don't suffer much from the lack of action and mecha fights.

Peach Girl is a series that took a rollercoaster ride for me: first I loved it, then I loathed it, then I adored it, then I thought I should stop, and by the end of the series, I felt satisfied enough to say that I thought it was rather well done.....if that makes any sense of what this series has to bring to the table, then prepare yourself accordingly.

Sincerely, with Peach Girl, prepare for a series of ups and downs, because it's a bit of a soap-opera (but be mindful, I mean this in a very good way) in a series of love triangles that play out among the series' main characters.

Rather original story (though it reminds me of a cross between Hana Yori Dango and Marmalade Boy, though not as well done as the two aformentioned), excellently crafted characters, and cute music and animation make Peach Girl an anime I'd recommend for any anime collector who wants to see an addictive romantic drama, despite a few flaws.

The usual romance formula: a very pretty girl, two boys making a series full of ups and downs, misunderstandings, handshakes and heartbreaks.

This is a series that focuses extremely closely on the relationship of 3 people. There are some side stories, but the spotlight always fall on the love triangle. As a result, the audience develops, gradually, a very close relationship with the 3 characters involved. This is essential in a romance story, as without any understanding between the audience and the characters, the romance will not solidify.

The story itself doesn’t have anything new, there are always a slightly differentiation of the situation from the previous romance anime. What I really liked about this anime are the characters – because the shell’s the same, what’s changed is the inside. When different characters fill the shell, there’s a new enjoyment to be had given 2 things: how much you like the romance genre and how much you like the characters involved.

I suppose I liked both very much and thus made Peach girl a thoroughly tasteful anime for me. Not the quickest of start-ups, but what Peach girl does do is to wind up the fans of the genre and then give them the goodies. That’s what I asked for, for many anime before, but it didn’t happen. Peach Girl does not give you perfect relationships without problems, in fact at times it seems to purely be showered with it. What it is, on the whole, is an anime that deliver the goods, makes you feel sorry, makes you feel good and then all over again.

Ultimately, whether you’d enjoy Peach Girl mostly depends on how much you like romance animes, if you love them, then you’ll probably love this too, if not, you might find this hard going.

You must be patience with this anime. A bouncing triangle love. A girl to choose between two nice guy and her best friend is the 'best' friend ever. The story to me is like somewhere between Karekano and Hana yori dango. Lots of touching scenes and great sound (10pts for OP&ED). Animation is good overall but sometimes faces drawn very very bad. An anime for romantic (with some comedy) fans!

Magical girls and robots aside- it's all about finding and believing in yourself in the real world. This is absolutely a wonderful anime in my book. Granted, with me being a high school girl going to school in Japan it's more touching and meaningful than maybe would be veiwed by a hardcore action-loving 30 year old male. It's audience is definately limited but I became addicted. It's definately pure drama, with wonderful character development and a well thought-out story line. Everything fits together very nicely and (I find it to be) very heartwarming and easy to identify with- it's so definately worth a watch.

It's like a soap opera, so if you're into that, this is a great series to watch. Basically it's high school romance drama stuff, with a cute, tanned girl torn between two guys that are both in love with her, and her "friend" that is not the sweet, innocent girl that people in school think she is.

Gah, my opinion of this is difficult. I think if I were to see this in the manga form instead, I'd enjoy it even more. There really isn't that much in this anime that i would benefit. The voices are kind of plain, the animation isn't particularly beautiful. what is strong about this is the emotional cliff hangers in between episodes that make you want to keep watching it. but this can be accomplished in the manga as well..

so my general opinion is that if you can get the manga, read that, otherwise this is not so bad to watch if you like a lot of emotional back and forth between guys with one girl.
but damn... the last 3 episodes were really intense. i think it was a good build up for these episodes.
extra side note: dont let this picture deceive you (the one on animenfo). I actually was turned off by the character design shown here, but in reailty it isn't that bad. momo is decent looking.

After watching the entire series... this anime is not so bad. A good story with a little humor in every episode made for an enjoyable series.

After half of the series, Momo's misuderstandings and assumptions about what was going on made the series very predictable. The characters were realistic and easy too relate too. No matter what happened, all the characters seemed too assume the worst would happen... which is what most people in the real world do, so it seems to be a good lesson on how to react to things in life. Touji seemed to be the only character that hid his assumptions until the very end, trying to stay positive about the whole situation. If you like shoujo anime, I highly reccommend this one. I may watch Peach Girl again in the near future after buying the DVDs when they're released.

This a weird one. I have to agree with Poom when he says that watching this will probably make you very angry. I wanted to beat up those characters so many times.

There's not much intended humor in Peach Girl, but I often got a good laugh out of the characters' stupidity. They just repeat the same mistakes over and over again.

I hated how they drew faces, especially the upper lip. Otherwise the animation was good. Showing little more skin wouldn't have hurt though...

Sound. I can't believe I recognized Kenichi Suzumura who was the Seiyuu for Bakayasu. Damn he's good. I gave sound an 8 because the BG music wasn't impressive at all.

Apart from their obvious stupidity the characters feel very genuine and I have no complaints. You don't grow attached to them so I'll give them a 9.

SD_S-O's sub was flawless apart from the poorly chosen color for the text boarder.

I enjoyed this anime a lot. I took me only few days to finish it. It's nothing you'll remember years from now, but I don't feel like I wasted my time.

THis anime rocks! Too bad that they're only 25 episodes. The story is good at the beginning, but gets too repetitive around episode 14. They just happen to be caught at a bad moment, mistaking it all for something else. Very humorous and simply beautiful. There are parts that'll make you cry or bust your gut out.
