| First things first, this is NOT a Digimon movie. It is a TV special broadcasted by TV Tokyo on New Year's Eve 2004.
When I first heard about this "movie", I was thrilled. I had seen all of the 7 movies and from the rumors at that time this movie was supposed to not be related to any of the seasons or movies.
In the Digital World (presumably another one that in any of the seasons) something historical is about to happen. A host computer called Yggdrasil, which was created to upkeep the Digital World has begun a bizarre procedure: it's going to destroy the current world, including all the digimon on it, and create a new one, using a program called X-Program to dispose of all digimon Yggdrasil had no plans for. The program creates a virus that spreads within the digimon, killing them. A big thing in the movie is also the Royal Knights (NOT the ones from Dejimon Furontiaa), including Omnimon, Dukemon (am. Gallantmon) and GoldenMagnamon (no other are shown).
The story starts with a chase between a new digimon called Dorumon and, an olde friend to Digimon fans, Leomon. The reason, why Leomon is hunting him is the fact that Dorumon possesses the X-Antibody, a body resistant to the The resistant and ready to die Dorumon gets the surprise of his(/her? The seiyuu sounds female, but later on it turns male) life as Leomon does not kill him but make a deal with him: Leomon does no kill Dorumon and Dorumon will live for the sake of the future of Digimon. He is also given the special task to protect a Tokomon, who is gets the X-Antibody from Leomon. After Dorumon agreeded, Leomon dies. Dorumon keeps on moving and exploring the wide plains of DW, finding a resistance force (including many familiar faces:) and joining them to overcome Yggdrasil's plans.

| As a long time Digimon fan I was looking foward to this. However I found myself disapointed...
The best thing about this OVA is the animation, I would give it higher then a 10 if I could, a whole CG of anime is a wonderful thing, adding it with digimon was a wonderful idea and it looks just amazing.
The sound is just okay, no OP/ED theme sadly, the music is nothing to brag about but all of the music is atleast desent, none of the voices are bad (although Dukemon still sounds like a grandma XD)
The story is where your going to get lost, if this is your first viewing of digimon TURN BACK NOW! You wont understand a thing about this OVA heck I've watched all of Digimon (all 4 seasons and I didn't understand anything until the end) The story is as the discription says however you really can't understand whats going on until the end or if you have read the Manga that this OVA is based off of.
The digimon are from all 4 seasons, as well as some new ones. The sad part is that none of them besides 3 develop very well, it is just an OVA after all...
I enjoyed watching this, if your a fan of the manga or just digimon in general you should enjoy this, although you might be confused by it...
