| Ghibli is one the only studios that I will continue to appreciate till the day I die. It's just too bad that they didn't create Junkers Come Here. Perhaps then, that certain sparkle that is so rich in Ghibli films such as Spirited Away, Totoro, Laputa, etc. could have taken part in the Junkers creation.
Don't get me wrong: I really enjoyed this film. The character designs were pleasing enough as far as asthetics is concerned, yet the characterization was something that could have been handled a bit differently. Then again, maybe this wasn't such a problem since the film's main focus was on a little girl and her dog Junkers, and indeed, these two were as fleshed out and focused upon as they come. Voice acting was passable with mediocre BGM. To give an good example, I honestly barely even noticed the music, so hmmmm...
Seeing as how VivaFruit and OberonBob have already given a thorough summary of the storyline, I will refrain from giving yet another slightly altered version of already hashed out events. Just know this: although this is most definitely NOT a Ghibli film, Junkers does possess a certain honorable charm which is easily due to the existence of Junkers himself. Without him, this film would have most likely been a flop. But, then again, this also was most likely purposeful. I guess hence the name "Junkers" Come Here.
All in all, I enjoyed this. Although not as engrossing as a Ghibli, it has its moments. Plus, at risk of sounding like a little kid by addressing a topic that I had come across before: Junkers also happens to come from one of my favorite dog breeds of all times. He has a beard, he has eyebrows, and he looks like a grumpy little old man.
All hail the Schnauzer!

| This is a simple tale about a young girl whose mother and dad both work, and she doesn't spend much time with them. She maintains a stiff upper lip with the help of her dog Junkers.
Then her life is thrown into disarray when she finds out her Tutor/love interest is engaged, and her parents are thinking about divorce.
This is a very 'nice' warm and fuzzy anime movie. with the exception of some magical/imagined elements, this is a very simple almost after school special type show. the moral is simply, don't hold all your emotions in.
I found this to be a bit simplistic simple tale, slow paced, and ultimatly not satistfing. the resolution is too easy. I did think they did a good job with the main character, but all of the other characters were very one dimentional.
can't recommend.
