| Not good at all. The music on this was the worst, I gave it a sporting chance on this a few months ago because the game was decent. The action scenes was mostly involved with hearing Joe stuttering out every special move which was irritating on a certain level, but he just keeps doing it every time whenever he fights. He also learns one special move from one episode to another in the beginning, by remembering it. But I knew that as I kept watching this extremely weak storyline, I just knew that Sylvia wouldn’t be saved anytime soon, and I even knew that it was going to be like this beforehand. Sylvia was made ditzy on this one, which was so dull and non-humorous. There was one amusing scene on it that was alright. On the third episode when she needed to go to the bathroom and then that big bat, forgot the name and don't care, had taken her to the bathroom on his layer but everything inside that bathroom even the toilet was upside down, don't ask me how this would be actually possible because I don't know either. The boss bat waited outside and then heard a flush later on. Sylvia said she was done when she went outside and the bat surprisingly asked how did she do that. She said it was secret. And that was only time I laughed. Anyway, the so called enemies on this one were actually dumber than the Viewtiful Joe, which was not a good way start with the story. And that side character such as that little kid that idolized Captain Blue, and then all of sudden on Joe, was also annoying and unnecessary on that series. It's probably good for the younger viewers. Just don't see this if you're expecting a worthwhile plot, or even a good comedic one at best. It’s so disappointing that a lot of these videogame anime can’t even be adequately good, even for today‘s standards.

| If you enjoy watching cheezy corny shows, with a very predictible plot with characters you wish would just die, then by all means watch viewtiful joe. If you prefer something that will make you think, then by all means stay away from viewtiful joe because you tend to become dumber just by watching it.

| If you played the game then you should be able to follow up with the story. Of course it isn't necessary the same order played in the game.
I'd recommend you watch it if you played it already and even if you didn't it's still a fun show to watch.

| Big headed style characters, quite poor animation sometimes... it looks weird at the beginning, but the series overall is great. The action might not be as good as in other action/fighting anime, but it is really entertaining. Joe's powers are simple but certainly funny.
A great series to enjoy yourself. As it says in the genre, it's Action/Comedy, but i would rather say Comedy -> then Action. Joe rocks. I wish i could do "SUROU!"
Don't get confused by the looks, it's good.

| I have a great deal of familiarity of Capcom because of their video game lineage and Viewtiful Joe proves no different on that front, while it tries to distance itself in terms of content, the animation is still in league with catering to the Western culture in terms of art.
When Capcom animated Street Fighter the Movie and then Street Fighter Alpha and then Street Fighter the series I believe they lost all credibility that they could produce an anime quality for the masses in Japan, and truly the expectations high. Although I can't say they entirely failed but you can see early on that much like Sonic the Hedgehog and Rockman.EXE (Megaman) and other video game lineage all suffer from the same fate they try to promote to the mainstream appeal and they fall into the western cultural idealogy.
For me I simply cannot call this anime but it is in truth Capcom's Western marketing campaign to sell the game.
