Ok I haven't writen any review for a long time, I'm quite sorry I have to start again with such a crappy one... but to keep it simple... THIS MOVIE SUCKS

The story is quite clyche, similar to many hollywood movies, good guys and bad guys, lots of mediocre fighting scenes, some very very weak romance, and hmmm I guess that's about it.. the movie starts, they fight, it ends.

Characters are weak, undeveloped and boring as expected for ones based on a game... the voice acting was as horrible as most american dubbed versions (now really, where do they find these actors? the suck, antitalent all the way) the bg music, well don't really remember it.

The only decent part was the animation, character design, but then again the fighting scenes were bweak, so it counterbalances and so plunges the movie in a deep state of forgetness... I really don't remember anything special about it, well that's about it..

The End!

Perhaps because I watched the dubbed version, I didn't enjoy it as much, anyhow I generally enjoy almost any type of anime, but this one was mediocre at best. The dialoge was choppy, not to mention extremely retarded..."your turn manservant, where is the breast plate"... type of lines hardly endear me to this anime.
The animation even for its time was not that impressive, the story had a lot of potential that was wasted. I guess the fanservice was its strongest point, and that in my opinion is hardly a laurel any anime should count on for high ratings.
watch this only if you have no choice in the matter. Or for the same reason most people watch those cheesy dubbed chinese movies with your buddies--only for making fun of the characters and the people who came up with the stuff.

This movie is prety much what you would expect from this series and most of it is really predictable. I'm not saying this anime isn't worth watching but if there are other fighting anime options out there you better think twice. The animation got a little bit crappy at some scenes and the music was honestly very cheap. The storyline seemed a bit rushed and some of it didn't make sense.
The value of this isn't really important, your better off renting this than actually purchasing it. I enjoyed it because of the characters but the story really really disfigures the whole momentum of this movie. This is a movie that could've been much better.

I have enjoyed the first two OAVs of the Garou Densetsu series, then along came the anime movie that ties up many, but not all, loose ends. I love Masami Obari's character designs and animation style and the characters he used in this series. Too bad he doesn't revisit this series and continue the story of Andy and Mai, Terry and Blue Mary, Jo and his love for women and fighting. I'd love to direct and cast a live action Garou/Fatal Fury film if someone gave me the financing. How about it? Harumi Nemoto as Mai Shiranui?

A lot of people who watched this were disappointed. That is why I would recommend this mainly to fans of the fighting series.

This anime being the third one to bear the Fatal Fury name is far better than the previous two. The anime was overall enjoyable (this coming from a fans perspective) not too great but not as bad as some people said it was.

The fundamental problems with the anime were that they tried to throw in as many characters as they could. This leads to some characters having nothing to do with the storyline and appearing very briefly, for example Big Bear has only like 2 lines in the whole anime and Kim has a fight for 1 min. in the beginning.

Apart from that the story was set out so that people who are not too familiar with the characters can understand what is going on. Therefore the story doesn’t deal with the game and has its own.

Overall it was an enjoyable experience.

One thing about Fighting game remake into anime its quite flawed in all kinds of ways. Its really better to just play the game than to rather see this because storywise its the same thing. At least you do enjoy playing the game.

I always thought this one had the worst storyline from out of the two Fatal Fury titles, or most of the videogame anime in general. I can never understand why they make these kind of genre. Kim was even on that movie, and he only fought once in that entire series, which they did the same thing with the second version. It was so typical that they tried to have every character in the anime once again, with no or little connection to the story. Even the animation on the fight scenes were very choppy, which had sloppy character designs to the previous ones. It had me at some curiosity that they involved a Fatal Fury as an anime during the time when games like this were made from the SNK company and accompanied with the other older gaming systems such as the SNES. But now it's just lying around as part of the genre, sadly.

I watched it because I loved the game so much. All in all, if I would describe this anime, the word "nice" is enough, but not more than that.

I'm currently on a swing now - I am dealing off with the anime from my "low ones" list. Here is a sad reminder of my previous stupidity, when I actually expected fighting anime to be worth sth. Well Tekken was among those good anime whom I have watched and whose worked as a wonderful (though sharp and painstakingly tough) cure. And Fatal Fury were somewhat redeeming the whole genre...

Only somewhat. There is not so much need to play the game like in Tekken, but still it comes in handy pretty much at times.

Onto the details then...

Ah yes, yet another video game goes anime... how did this one fair?

Well I'll say this, it's not half as good as street fighter, but at least it isn't Tekken...

At the very least, FF gets all the characters in there SOMEWHERE. You're pretty much required to know the games a bit to follow this show (which isn't so demanding I suppose, considering it's based on a game) even despite their attempt at adding in a love story for the protaganist (Terry Bogard) which I felt was pretty unnecessary, but hey, the creators wanted to shove a bunch of genres into one and it came out "Meh".

Fatal Fury isn't particularly bad, or good, it's somewhere around I don't really give a crap.

If you like the games, check it out, if not, don't bother.

Animation... poor
sound... can't remember so it can't have been too outstanding. I remember the character's voices are so annoying though.
story... nothing spectacular
characters... tries to be deep but at the end of the day is still shallow
Value... .very little

Conclusion... this anime sucked. Yet another one of those action anime that tries to be too deep and end up rattling off some senseless mumble jumble about life and love and why they fighting etc. As people have pointed out before me... this is basically for hardcore beat em up gamers only. Otherwise... avoid.

PS Strange thing about this anime is that it seems to carry on from fatal fury 2 for some reason o_O Oh by the way, fatal fury 2 was much better, as it doesn't make the mistake of trying to be what its not... i.e. a deep philosophical anime. It's still not as good as street fighter 2 the animated movie though.

Fatal Fury was one of the first anime movies that I didn't care for overall. The problem with transitioning a game to anime, particularly for a movie, is being able to craft the characters from scratch and present them in a dynamic way on screen and be able to do it convincingly within a hour and a half/two hour time frame, versus actually portraying them through the gameplay. With that said, Fatal Fury the Movie falls flat of expectations. Those who even played the game will find that the characters don't have as much dynamics or wit as the experience of the game provided (SNK for those who don't know)

It doesn't have much character development, the fight scenes are disappointing, and the attempt of a love story is overshadowed by overdramatic and oversimplifed themes. But even with not being complex, I think Fatal Fury could have been better than this. Might appeal to those who liked the game, but even so, I wouldn't waste my money on it.

The Fatal Fury motion picture is NOT very good. The story does not relate to any Fatal Fury or King of Fighters game, besides the fact that Terry, Andy, Mai, and Joe are in it. If you would like to know more about why this movie gets such a low rating read on.

Not that bad for a fighter movie, especially since it came from a video game. Kinda like Indiana Jones crossed with DBZ. I liked the various settings and the characters were funny. They had to flex their brains almost as much as their muscles, even making a trip to the library. I give points for that. The fights could have been better. There's a little romance, a little fighting, a little fan service. Not enough of any to make it worth anything more than a rental though. Some good laughs and action mixed with an ok story make this a worthy watch.

I watched it a couple of times... sometimes I started jumping between scenes. I can't find anything special about it. People becoming godlike whoo-hoo but no decent battle and no good story either. Same for characters...

Watch a few other anime and you've seen all that happens here already.

watch it if you're a fan of the game but if you just want to watch a good anime movie get somethin else

I haven't watch this anime in a long time, but it leaves me with some fond memories. The story isn't very good, but the animation is. There are some very good fight scenes in this. I wouldn't expect anyone who hasn't played any of the FF/KOF series to enjoy this though. I didn't think it was as good as the FF2 movie though.

(Review of the dubed version)
This just plainly sucks. The story is predictable, cliche, stupid and corny.
The dubs suck monkey balls! The so called "voice actors" sound like they are making a AV. The "characters" are so damn cliche and stupid it ain't true. They dont have any personalities, they are almost more shallow than some american comic book characters. The animation is mostly ok, but at some points (far too many) it just looks abnormal. And how the hell can you make a sword apear in your hand aand armor to apear on your body by tearing your shirt off?
If you liked DBZ then you might like this. But for everyone else, a waste of time.

Fatal Fury's movie gives everything you'd expect from it, the good guys, the bad guys, Mai's bouncing breasts, and lots of duking it out with special moves. If you're a fan of the game, it's an enjoyable watch. If you're not, well, it's a well animated save the world type quest with some neat fight scenes. Not the best, but it definitely does what it sets out to do.

Well I have to agree with a lot people here that this was definately one of the better street fighting animes to be converted from an arcade.

The animation was not bad for something that was made 8 years ago. Some scenes were a bit off, but not too bad.

The sound was prety good, although a bit repetitive after 1 hour lol. =P

The story wasn't much, this movie diverted quite a fair bit away from the other previous movies which was more related to the arcade game. But still it was prety good.

The characters were not bad, the old characters didn't get too much development since they were prety much developed in the previous two movies. The new chacracters could have done more with development.

Not a bad anime and definately above average. I feel that the story could have done more with somde further development, but still I actually enjoyed this anime quite a bit.
