| This Season of Hunter x Hunter continues where the second OVA Left off. Here we seen Gon and Killua reach even higher mastery of their nen and become even closer to Finding Gon's Father. I have truly enjoyed this and every one of the series in Hunter x Hunter and am sad to say this is the last season ever released and leaves you wanting. it seems in the end that the writers did not know what else they could do with the Story and instead of having another 62 episode spree they rushed the ending and left the fans wondering. Which is never a good idea with an anime but we can only hope they continue the story at a later date

| The final of Greed Island makes the OVA as a whole, as must see!
Plenty of exhillerating and fun fight scenes, a naked Hisoka....... what more can you ask for ^__^

| This review is based on the complete series of Greed Island including the Final where they get sucked into the Nen-made video game:
The "Greed Island Saga" takes a slower more leisurely pace than what I became accustomed to within the main series.
Certainly a lot of training is going on, but I other than that, there isn't much drive in the story. There is no overarching impending doom that is going to happen if Gon and Killua do not do something, not a nice variety of villains, just an interesting scenario for the main characters of HxH. "Greed Island" is a side story that does not bring anything to the HxH series - although Gon and Killua may have learned a lot of techniques with the help of that girl, they don't do much with it until the very very end. Greed Island definitely takes the spirit of HxH, but mixes it in with boring side characters.
The idea of collecting cards is pretty fun although not entirely original, but the villains and other baddies are totally horrid. The Bomber guy, although is quite something in terms of strategy, if I think about it, I think there could have been a better 'villain'. The other main 'villain' was the volley ball guy, and I thought this conclusion to the Greed Island segment pales in comparsion to the regular HxH series. Nothing really beats the spider group saga (Ryodan).
Because Hunter x Hunter is mainly based on Killua and Gon's growth and the adventures they have to go through to achieve that training and power, Greed Island is quite dull (e.g. they don't really train much substantially.. they seem to mostly train on rocks and stuff). Because I am a fan, I still enjoyed this series, but the action and overall atmosphere here is lacking in some sense.
The ending of Greed Island really leaves one hanging. If I hadn't read the manga afterward, it would suck to be on a permanent cliff hanger on the true identity of that guy. Still, GI remains true to the world of HxH, it just feels more "lets go on a fun adventure" instead of the more tense Hunter exam and Ryodan conflicts. GI has its fair share of life-death situations and it does build upon the plot a little (the Ryodan are actually on this island too), but it mostly focuses on the eventual goal of Gon trying to find his dad.

| Significantly better than the previous OAV set at Greed Island, though not up to the standards of the series (or 1ST OAV for that matter). My mark doesn't really convey that it is better, but I am telling you now that it is.

| HxH is all about cool characters with cool skills having adventure. This continues and finishes the GI sequence and leaves viewers of the anime for once...well with a satisfying ending.

| Overall, I really enjoyed this anime, and it will be a great collectable if you like the other Hunter X hunter sequals. The animation is like the others Hunter x Hunters, but i have to say that is way better than the first one. The animation is much newer.
The character's voices still the same. However, the music is different. The openning and closing music are alright, it didn't have anything special taht made it really noticible.
The story is just the continuation of the first Green Island OVA. However, the ending is not clear because it seems like theymight make a sequal depending in how many people enjoyed it, so they left the ending up to the imagination of the watcher. Therefore, if you want to think the person is Gon's dad, then is up to you. You can even think that it is Gin's friend Nigg. Other than that it was a pretty good anime.

| Greed Island, final OVA, that kinda scared me by the though that I have almost seen everything about this anime. It catches up directly after the last OVA and from my point of view, I cant see why they didnt do both of them as one.
The story now goes to a more calm pace, leaving the watcher to wonder if this is the end? I think this anime have been worth watching and I have never felt a feeling that I didnt want more of it. If this is the of it, then I can accept it, but as for now all I can do is wait, and see, becouse Hunter x Hunter doesnt want to end like I want to, therefore I give up and hope for the best, see this, or youll miss the point of the hole story..."enjoy"

| Finally the story's over, or is it? The story continues in the manga. But it's over for us which only watches the anime. The idea is good and you get a feeling for wanting to play rpg yourself. The former OVA was just a prequel for this one giving descriptions of the game. It was neccessary for there are much to learn. The OAV has two stories and one isn't finished. Too bad for us who doesn't read the manga. Nothing less from the anime world when it's based on a manga which continues.
You can't judge the whole anime for a none saying ending. If you are you have to do it on almost half of all produced anime.
The posivite things are the fights and the trainings. It's entertaining to watch how they grow or joing hard fights. It's even exciting when they charge up themselves with power in ability to win.

| This was a good part of the series but I'd say it is one of the slowest ones. I believe they were going for a more light hearted mini series after the previous which had gotten very dark.

| I loved the Hunter X Hunter series and the OAVs. I loved the clever story twists and the highly likable characters. I was looking forward to more of the same. This OAV didn't quite deliver what I wanted.
First off, the animation looks like turd. The TV series had the "hand drawn" style and yet it looked so much better than this new OAV which is years ahead. Some scenes simply lack detail and look plain. For an OAV in 2004 , the animation is not very fluid and a lot of action is stimulated rather than animated.
The music is nothing to brag about. It's on the edge of generic. It's ok and it suits the mood but it's not catchy or unique enough. I had no problems with the voice acting.
The story is decent. It's not as intense or cleverly woven as the TV series. This OAV at least wraps up the story a little at the end. But we can assume there will be more HxH anime to come.
My main beef is not seeing some of the old main characters. All we see in this OAV is Gon and Killua. Kurapica and Leorio makes cameo appearances.
Overall this OAV is watchable and certainly enjoyable to some degree. After all, if you have seen the TV series and the 2 OAVs, you'd naturally want to see the rest of this story arc. But be prepared to be slightly disappointed

| Unfortunately the worst of the Hunter X Hunter story arc I've seen so far. We dont see any of the characters from the series that made this so much fun. The idea is downright ridiculous and looks merely like an ingame movie. The voice actor for Hisoka is changed and doesnt sound the same. The story dragged on and on especially over the stupid dodgeball fight. The story has become a complete joke. The only thing that redeemed this was the ending which was very nice, and suddenly the point of the arc becomes clear. Unfortunately this is still a dull storyarc for the most part and doesnt live up to the Hunter X Hunter series which I liked a lot.

| And with this, we conclude the Greed Island arc of the Hunter x Hunter saga. Coming after the great Genei Ryodan arc, this story pales in comparison, but it is still a great edition to the Hunter x Hunter series in terms of characters, story and animation. Things here weren't as deep as the Genei Ryodan story, but in my opinion the episodes were almost just as gripping.
Hopefully the next story arc on the HxH manga will get animated.

| oh well, i just end the serie right and i couldnt help myself to make a review. I read the other ones, and i agree with most of then. So the overall is one if we analise the GI Final OVA alone i'd sai that it was good but not to special, but HxH is not that OVA alone, so for lovers who are following the serie for sometime, it's pretty good :) i hope that so called Ghost-TV2 series comes out :) ja nee

| After all is said and done, I enjoyed this fourteen episode OVA. However, I have this unpleasant, suspicious feeling that I shouldn't like it as much as I should. There's this crawling notion that tells me that very little actually happened in this OVA. GI Final suffers from what hindered the series: minutes upon minutes upon minutes of doing absolutely nothing.

| I couldn't wait for this series to end so I could watch it properly. Hunter X Hunter is probably my second favorite anime series and I've really enjoyed both OVA continuations of that series. Now that its all over, I just need more.
The animation was beautiful looking with bright, vibrant colors and detailed when it needed to be. Great looking Nen and other special effects. Then I noticed that they've started using stills. Dammit, that was one of the cool things about HxH (the lack of repeated images and stills). Despite that, it wasn't particularly original looking anymore.
The sound was as great as always. The OP and ED were just as good as every other one in the series/OVAs. Same voices and quality. Ultimately, I have no problem with the sound, and already have the OST.
The story was just a continuation of the last OVA, which didn't finish. They are still trudging along in the game, attempting to get all the cards to complete it. Still, there was a few other plotlines introduced that made it a little more interesting. Besides the new training to powerup Gon and Killua, the Bomber is still creating havoc in the world, and there are a few cards that must be acquired quickly before Bomber's group gets it. Although it wouldn't be as fun... if someone as dangerous as the Bomber is trying to get all the cards to win the game,if he did get them all wouldn't he just leave the game? No more deaths in the game and all the cards would return to being available. A simple solution but it's certainly not as exciting as fighting with him. Oh well. The main plotline of the series (Gon looking for his father) is touched on a little, at least.
The characters of Gon and Killua are still awesome. Still, there wasn't really any new development for them - if someone watched this OVA without the rest of the series, they probably wouldn't consider giving the characters a high rating. The rest of the supporting characters were important, but still seemingly underdeveloped. Suddenly, they would say something like well, I have this ability, and it would fit in well with the situation. Biskue still was annoying in my opinion. However, the villains are good and the characters in the anime always lifts your mood.
Overall, I have to give this anime a high value. Its well subbed and a great continuation of the Hunter X Hunter series. I had no problems going from episode to episode, and when the next series comes out I'll be sure to jump on that right away. The manga is still going, and I've heard rumors of a TV2 coming out in November. It might not be true but, regardless this series is gonna continue and I can't wait for it.
Edit: The november TV series was a hoax. I've now heard rumors of a movie to finish up everything.

| Concluding from the 2nd HXH OVA, HXH:GIF is the latest HXH story and nicely wraps up some Greed Island stuff. That saying, i didn't particularly enjoy HXH:GI, however, GIF improves on it.
HXH:GIF has several points which makes this more enjoyable than HXH:GI OVA and some sagas of the HXH story, one of which is the gracious amount of action in this OVA. The action set pieces are generally pleasing, the Volleyball match was very well made and was alot more special than standard fighting.. thus i go on to the Gensuru fight, which was dissapointing, it was a pretty much a standard fight with some strategy involved but nothign as great as other action set pieces in the HXH story.
Aside from the action, HXH was very enjoyable, seeing the Spider gang and Hisoka bought a smile to my face, as it was very pleasing to see a cameo from cool characters. Great animation with good OP/EDs compliment this OVA very well, a good show of characters and their designs were a delight to see as well.
However, HXH suffers from what the other OVAs/TV series suffer from, it ends with a cliff-hanger ending (as with pretty much most episodes from HXH). And even though this OVA answered some questions, it then opened up a bunch of other questions that leaves the viewer thinking.
Some parts dragged on a bit too long, if it was a TV series this wouldn't be bad, however, for an OVA it took a while to get going.
A nice change from the dark atmosphere from the previous saga, GI has exceeded my expectations from being a 'stupid little card game fest' and became an enjoyable little saga with light happy moments. Worth watching if you're an avid HXH fan.
Overall, 7.5/10
Grade: B

| Finally, a conclusion for the previous OVA, just more HxH. I find this one better than ova 2 because this ova contains the real bulk of the story of the GI saga, ova 2 was just pretty much an intro. The art, but not the actual animation falls a bit in some areas but thats too be expected since they decided to try to follow the manga somewhat. I like the OP/ED themes, and even though there is alot of training this saga is a big step for gon and killua's nen growth.

| What the hell happened? Just what the hell? Hunter X Hunter has always been, in my humble opinion, one of the pinnacles of anime. It's had the storyline, the characters, the sound and the animation. When the series ended, I nearly weeped. Luckily, the two OVAs produced afterwards continued to improve upon the tried and true combination mentioned above. Unfortunately, This second part in the GI OVAs just does not live up to the legacy that HxH set for itself earlier. I usually don't go into detail but this deserves my unadulterated criticism.

| Out of the proposed 14 episodes for this story arc (the final events of Greed Island), six have been released so far via fansub. Having seen them, the story pick ups right where it left off, with Gon and Killua continuing their training with Bisuke.
It's a great anime to watch with friends, as it always brings you back for more. I've had people who hate anime sit down with me and watch this, it's that addictive and intriguing. Recommended.
