This anime is AWESOME. I will never forget the first episode. Not knowing anything about Gantz, I waited to see if this was worth watching, then BOOM, before you know it, peoples heads were flying. The characters are amazing, everyones got a background story on how they ended up the way they did, it really makes the characters come to life, and makes it really sad (no anime makes me sad) when people die. I gave Gantz a 9/10 in story, since it doesn't follow the manga (which is even more amazing). Not following the manga, the whole thing feels like it ends abruptly, and makes you asking for more.

Gantz is very interesting, the first episode hooked me in right away. The story was very unique and interesting, and the animation was great!

What I liked most about this anime was the closing song. Very good.

But this anime does have it's flaws.

The characters were very shallow and boring. There was excessive crying, I have nothing against movies or animes that have lots of crying, honestly, I prefer animes that are emotionally engaging. But this anime for me failed to make me feel sad for any of the characters.

Gantz is about 2 fold friends who are killed helping a homeless man who fell on the tracks and get hit by a train. They're transported by this thing to a room, where they are sent out on missions to kill aliens. Gantz has a great plot and starts off very well. You get to hear what alot of the characters are thinking and it seems very real.

But then it gets off track. Alot of the characters have this hesitation for killing throughout the series that just gets annoying. Especially when they just took out a monster 5 minutes ago. And sometimes they just stand there and talk when they could be shooting a monster.

Also some of the more vulgar scenes were probably unnecessary. But at times the action can be great.

Gantz had alot more potential then what the final product shows but it's still worth giving it a shot. By the way there's alot of violence.

Animation:

Being Gonzo, there is a lot of CG work included, but unlike some later works, it usually blends well into the cell animation. For its time, the animation quality is quite good, and remains acceptable by the time of this review in my opinion.

Sound:

To be honest, I don't remember a lot of the soundtrack except the song that plays when Gantz opens. Accordingly, I seems to have left neither a particularly good nor bad impression on me; thus, I would rate it acceptable. The seiyuu's were annoying at times with their one-sided portrayal.

Story:

The basic plot premise holds a lot of promise: People being bunched together for nor real reason other than fighting supposed aliens after they have died, and being thrown into that situation without any preparation or possibility of decline. It opens the way to examine various parts of their tolerance and treatment of unexpected danger, or exploration of their manner of death, which is done. The punchline is: Humans are weak and malicious on average. While this is something I certainly empathise with, the execution is severly lacking. The pacing is completely off, sometimes spending several episodes in a row on a single, huge fight. This is then followed by several episodes where nothing action-ish whatsoever happens. Considerable time is devoted to the manner of everyones death, which usually involves human malice & weakness. This normally would not be a problem, but it is done without any elegance in storytelling, without flow and without reflection. The message is beaten in time after time without alteration or further, more detailed elaboration, and the show ends up faking a huge amout of emotional and intellectual depth by throwing more of the same at the viewer. In the end, a character is introduced who tries to see the good in everyone and is consistently and predictably disappointed again and again.

Character:

The characters are closely tied to the storyline, as usual. A lot of the criticism directed at the story can be applied to the characters, since it is they who make the story. The redeeming value of the characters is, though, that there is a lot of somewhat interesting character development in response to the unusual situation the characters find themselves in. This is compromised in part by their stubborn refusal to make decisions under pressure, which is something I can't stand and provoked outbursts of rage sometimes.

Value:

I do not have the slightest inclination of watching it again, so the value is somewhat low for me. I don't recall any criticism for the subs.

Enjoyment:

Fluctuates wildly. I did finish it after all, so something must have kept me going. Some episodes are quite enjoyable and make you want to see the next episode as well, only to leave me wondering then why I am wasting my time on this. The willingness to kill off pretty much everyone also made it interesting at first, until you find out by the half of the show that they really are killing off EVERYONE - which defeated the shock effect, and made the whole story and great deal more boring.

I saw the reviews for this anime on this site and decided to check it out. Ugh. Personally, this anime was horrible. The animation was good and the CG transitions were actually quite smooth, but the story was simply abhorrent. The story was also inconsistent. An example of this was between episode 1 and 2. At the end of episode 1, there was 27 minutes left on the clock, and some of the key characters didn't have weapons. At the start of 2, there is 30 minutes on the clock and suddenly everyone is armed. This wasn't the only example and was present throughout the episodes. The idea behind the sphere was never really explained and instead they give up some pseudo-intellectual BS to try and gloss over it. The characters are simply unlikable and make you want to punch the creators in the mouth, over and over.

I can't say there was anything I liked about this anime besides the basic idea, which was forgotten in their supposed exploration into the psyche of humans, but that turns out to be simply an outlet for them to expose on their own thoughts. I wanted to quit after the 4th show, but I also wanted to give a fair review, so stuck it out through all 26 episodes, which was pretty much a waste as it doesn't improve throughout the series.

An outstanding anime.
This anime combines gore, sex and foul language all mixed around core ideas: people are an egoistic beings and realism. This mixture introduced a superior look into the people's nature and the natural law: " in order to survive you have to "kill"." You might not agree with it but its true. For example: in order to get promotion in your company you have to "advertise" yourself. By gaining the promotion you just crushed other people's hopes and dreams to succeed. Moreover, because of the spot opening, it meant that someone else has left company (most of the time that person is forced to leave). Therefore, his/her loss is your opportunity. This anime shows is that the life is not a fairy tale >> good people suffer the most because they are abused by others, more selfish people.

Animation: the animation was detailed. There also were seen 3-D effects and there were no Mickey-Mouse facial expression.
Sound: an outstanding sound. Unless you have hearing problems, you could hear the simultaneously interchanging sound and surroundings effects (such as a person talking on the left is heard only from the left speaker. The same goes for the effects of the door generated sounds).

Story: I believe that the story was good. There was some minor setback around eps. 18-22 (too much unnecessary talks/drama) and the ending gave me a lot of ponder as of what has happened in the end, but overall I loved the story especially the ending episode CONCLUSIVE remark.
*SPOILERS*>> Pay attention what Key is speaking in the train station.

Character: nicely designed characters personality -wise. All of the characters had different motives, different ways to react to danger. Moreover, because of both good and bad features of the characters’ design, they look very realistic.

Value & Enjoyment: an outstanding anime. I enjoyed watching it and seeing how characters interact with each other, what are their values and what are the consequences of their actions. This anime was unpredictable and, most of all, I really enjoyed the philosophical and psychological themes that this anime introduced.

Wow, this was a different anime. Perhaps not the best, but very different. More mature content than the average series, with gore, slime and tits everywhere.

I've read some of the reviews below, and i pretty much agree with most of them, so i'll sum it all up and add my additional opinions about this show. I got hooked after watching the 2 first episodes. The plot was original and exciting, and i enjoyed watching an anime that had mature and gory content - an enjoyable sidetrack from most of the anime these days. They should really make more horror/suspense animes!

As i mentioned above, I thought the first couple of episodes showed potential and originality, but after watching the whole show, i realised that the creators wasted that potential. Many of the dialogues are terribly dumb, most of the characters are either pacifists or simply cowards, and they even added a stereotypical love triangle where the girl doesn't realize that the friend of the guy she's got a crush on is in love with her.

Note that this anime is packed full of gore, sex and foul language.

What seems to have annoyed most of the reviewers here, including myself, is that about all the characters were dumb, ignorant and indecisive. Their personalities and behaviour are far from realistic. Watching them making dumb decisions, trying to resolve things without violence, or simply hesitating to pull the trigger makes you really mad (at least i was), but this also contributes to making you feel more involved in the show.

I don't know about others who have watched this show, but personally i found the ending very unsatisfying. I'm not going to spoil how it ended, but it was simillar to watching the end of one of those wannabe blockbuster B-movies that have endings where for instance the lead character runs toward the edge of a cliff, and then the credits starts rolling before you get to see what happens next.

The second season of Gantz reminded me a bit of Full Metal Panic season 2 - where the atmosphere starts getting depressing and serious, and the main character becomes cold and isolated.

I also felt that the creators were running out of time or something while creating the last season, because the fight scenes started getting really slow paced, and when the characters noticed that the last bunch of participants for Gants (whatever it is - you never get to know what the true purpose of Gantz is) are paired up as people who have died in simillar ways - i thought that was something i should take note of, but apparently there was no additional meaning to this. Also, the weapons seem to have a time delay at first, but later on they don't. Yet another thing that never gets explained.

Overall Gantz is not a bad show. It was quite entertaining actually, but it could have been so much better. People who get easily annoyed by clichés and dumb characters should steer away.

First of all id like to say that this anime is like "Hate it or love it" (however i cant understand how could anybody love this ...)
From my point of view its absurd anime with the most stupid characters you have ever seen. But....lets look at it more objective...

Animation and sound
average rating because it was nothing special ... nothing was happening there most of the time so the animator didnt have alot of work with this. The soundtrack...well
i personally didnt feel any atmosphere there . The opening song started to be pretty annoying, they could have changed it after 13th ep or so...

Story
Well im giving 9/10 just because i think its a good idea with big potential (i mean ... some guyn in a big black ball teleporting people into another dimension befeore they die to play some asty game...its OK with me ) but totally ruined by the dumb characters. From my point of view the behaviour in those situations isnt even close to how real people would behave (youll see when you watch it)

First episode was ok for me...not only ok i thought this will be great 'psycho' anime but the problem ist that while watching this, I almost became a psycho....

Characters

well...many people say something like "the intent of the director was to express the realism of emotions in the situations the characters were placed in" or "it totally describes the survival instinc of humans" ok .. lets think about it
Imagine a situation when a 16 years old boy shoots a person ,you like or love, into head like 10 times. Then youll get him in a situation where you could easily kill him! ( of course hes a murderer he killed a lot of people ) What would you do ? I know...you definately would stand in front of the boy so nobody can kill him and say "no hes underage and he was forced to do it by the old bad guy" WHAT THE HELL??? DO YOU THINK IM GOING TO BELIEVE THAT SOMEWHERE IN THE WORLD THERE IS SOMEBODY WHO WOULD DO THIS ? YOU MUST BE JOKING! .... And the whole anime is filled with situations like this...people are just pointing guns on each other thinking "im gonna shoot im gonna shoot!" GRRRR!...it still hurts me when just when writing about it...

Characters
OK so ... this anime is supposed to tell the audience that when youre almost dead and then revived by something to play some game for your survival, you become a BRAINWASHED RETARDED PIECE OF **** . you cant really talk about some "instinc of survival" because the was none...All the popeple were hesitating to kill those monster AARRRGH it was so absurd that its hard to write about it...
From the whooole anime i liked only the 16 years old murderer - ok he was a psycho and he was disgusting but still he behaved more realistic than anyone else ( and ofcourse including hes mate)
The blonde guy (also in the last few episodes )
The dog - definately the best character...
The guy who almost got the 100 points... yeah he was the only one taht had some survival instinc however in the end he was a pussy
The girl who had sex with the main character - she was ok...

The other ones including the main 3 characters was like...Impossible to born i just dont believe people can behave like this its totally absurd

Value
im giving 5 because if you search deep enough you can see some very good messages(thoughts or whatever) in this anime

Enjoyment
1 ... almost lost my mind watching this

What would be the first thought in your head if you were to see a drunk, homeless bum lying on the train tracks? "I must save him"? I wonder...

It's been awhile since an anime seemed to offer something I've never seen anywhere else before. The more shows I watch, the more I start to value originality over fluidity. While this show is nowhere fluid, it's heck of an original. Gantz, while definitely unpolished, is diamond nonetheless. This show tells a tale about human violence, instinct of survival and hypocrisy. In other words, in this anime there is much explicit violence, both physical and psychological, definitely not for weak stomachs.

If you need something original to liven up your boring everyday life plagued by stereotypical anime, give this show a shot. I can assure you, you haven't seen anything like it before.

GANTZ, one of those animes that keep you watching while being pissed:)

And why pissed? you say? well its because the characters are overtly uncaring and irritatingly less witty than the average human being. To put it simply the characters are really dumb. Imagine a hopeless drunk hobo fell in the tracks of a train, he fell in there right in front of several people waiting for the train, and for crying out loud those people wont budge! like its something normal! yeh right they were thinking about their safety and all but you can help the poor guy in less than a minute by jumping off quickly from the platform and use some team work with the other people there…they know the train is still far! anyone with brain knows.

Hmmm…well that was in the first season of GANTZ, the second season is a more agonizingly annoying…ahem. With its more uncooperative survivors and less reflexive allies in the battle. It just makes you want to scream “Shoot him already damnit!!” or “what’s with you trying to stop him kill the enemy idiot!?”. Its just makes you GRRRRR!!!

But honestly…

There lies the beauty of this anime, the viewer has this sense of involvement when they watch GANTZ. it makes the audience so pissed off that they’d want to watch more and tell the airheads in the anime to just shoot him or that! Plus i think there is another factor why this anime is addicting, lots of mature and gory stuff, keeps your adrenaline pumping!

Though i’ve been really pissed, i enjoyed watching this anime, there’s just one big problem to it, the story was not concluded in the 2nd season. I heard there’s more story in the manga, and that it continues after the ending of the 2nd season. Too bad i’ll have to wait for the 3rd season(if there’s any) or just read the manga.

and in case you are wondering what this GANTZ is about?, hmmm its hard to explain but what happens in the story is, when you die, you get trapped inside this room with a big black ball in it with several other people who also died from accidents, diseases, ailments whatever. Nobody knows the purpose of this room and so as that big black ball, but the moment you hear this black thing playing this sound you better be packing some weapons for yourself and wear this special suit that will make you look like some crazed otaku, the black ball will also display a certain target to KILL, that means they have to kill something, and there is also a time limit. Then after all those things, the people inside the room will be teleported somewhere, disappearing one by one. They have to kill the target in time or else they will not be able to return. I forgot to mention that each person accumulate points by fighting the target. Basically that’s it, but there are a couple of scenes involving human drama, a little bit of love triangle and a lot of gory action. But don’t worry about the gore, the animation isn’t too good so its not that believable! ;p

Well, where to start.

Actually i don´t do many revievs, but this one is probably worth doing one for it was the crappiest thing i´ve seen in a looooong time.
I was looking for something other people had watched and recommended, so i just looked for a good rating and a description that looked interesting.

OK, lets go through it point by point.

Animation:
Actually, there is some animation in this thing, otherwise you couldn´t even call it an anime, right?
But people move like pieces of wood, not fluently at all. OK, there´s quite a lot of CG and it looks like sequences cut out of the old "HalfLife"-game. Really quite horrible, and the characters don´t blend in, its a gruesome patchwork. They put most of their effort in animating some intestines splattering around in every second episode.

Sound:
Yes there was some sound. Nothing captivating. ´Nuff said.

Story:
It could have been a real gem, so much potential in the concept - but its all gone to waste here.

Just in case you are about to rant about me not understanding the "the message" or "the genre" or "the concept" or that I should have read the manga:
If i want to be preached i go to church.
If i want to be entertained i watch anime.
This is this and that is that.
This anime failed to satisfy me.

It was the story and my hoping for some real development in that department that kept me watching, let me assure you i was more than disappointed.
The concept of some kind of supreme being taking people on the verge of death and use them for its own sadistic game provides a lot of space for great stories, but nooooo, all they do is show those poor guys standing there with big mighty guns in their hands NOT PULLING THE TRIGGER when the nasty monsters approach because "uuh, i don´t want to kill something" and "waah, its so big and scary" and "someone please shoot it instead of me" etc. etc.
There´s actually only one episode that Kurono actually fights like his life depends on it - for some seconds. After that, just like before....
Could it be that animating a good fight scene is just to expensive?
Of course its a lot cheaper to show poeple frozen in motionlessnes for about 15 minutes and let them whine about how fearsome the enemy is.
Oh, i forgot to mention: that story has no ending, guess they just run out of money there...

Character:
Again, lots of potential all gone to waste. Hardly any development here.

Value:
NONE. Its just a waste of good time. Remember that song? "When i think of all the good time thats being wasted having good times..."
I wasted my time on this, but i didn´t even have a good time!

Enjoyment:
GRRRRRRRRRR! I watched it because i´m determined to watch whatever i start to the bitter end. No enjoyment. After the first episode (which pointed out quite some of the potential of the concept) I started going mad while watching, an urge to destroy some furniture emerged while i screamed "will you please stop whining and shoot instead now so the story can go on?" (They even had a gun that doesn´t kill the opponent but just "sends" them away so they didn´t need to kill if they didn´t want to, for heavens sake...)
Definitely no enjoyment.

Conclusion:
This series is well suited for those guys who outgrow "DBZ" and want to watch something more gory. If i remember correctly in "DBZ" some episodes are entirely filled with stills of two "fighters" who stand motionless and tell each other "I´m gonna kill you, grrrrr" "No, I`M gonna kill YOU! GRRRRR!" "GRRRRRR" "GRRRRR!!!"

Gonzo has made some quite awsome animes, i´ll just mention "Welcome to the NHK!" here, but i´m afraid "Gantz" is a pile of (censored).

Beforehand, I want to warn everyone that there are two versions of this anime, one censored and one uncensored. The uncensored version has 26 eps, and the censored one has less ( 2 less I think). So if you have the censored version, toss it and get the uncensored one. Now. Imo, you are not entitled to review this if you watch the censored version, because there are minor but very important differences between both.

The plot of this anime is a bit difficult to explain, because the anime covers only a small portion of the ongoing manga. But basically, this is about a teenager, called Kurono Kei, as horny and arrogant as any other teenager. He is seemingly killed when trying to help a bum who had fallen to some metro tracks, and with him is also killed his childhood friend Katou, a tall and good-natured but simpleminded guy who always admired Kurono. The thing is, intead of just dying and going to heaven or hell (gotta love religion :D), they are strangely teleported(or cloned) to a flat located in one skycraper of Tokyo's metropolis. There they meet their future teammates (or competitors), who were just on the verge of dying when they were teleported as well, to play a bizarre game that consist of hunting aliens that secretly live in Earth, hunting them via the aid of powerful futuristic suits and weaponry. They also meet "Gantz", a strange ball with a bald guy inside that seems to be the "overlord" of the game. Once the game starts, the players are transported near the place where the alien is located, and if they are killed during the mission they are gone forever, no more teleportations to the flat. The only requirement is that you end the mission alive, even if you are badly hurt you will be regenerated and appear unscathed at the flat. Then you are free to go back to your home and do what ever you want, until you are required for a mission again, and then you will be teleported to the flat for a briefing. The ones that make it out alive have the responsibility of explaining the game to the newcomers, but they can choose not to explain anything. By accomplishing the mission objectives you earn points. When a certain point quota is reached, you are freed from the game. So the game encourages collaboration, but it also encourages competition, because the one that most points gets is usually the one that kills(or captures, there is one special gun that binds the target and teleports them to an unknown location) more aliens, or the most powerful ones. Take note that events portrayed in the last episodes of the anime never happened in the manga chronology, they invented a new ending to provide the anime with a sense of closure. To tell you the truth, that ending is a bit cheesy.

If you ask me, I find the plot very interesting and original. And just plain fun. Last time I checked the manga has not ended yet, but I'm sure everything will be explained at the end, I can smell the good writing in the making. But don't expect anything too deep or profound, if that is what you are expecting change your mind or go watch Evangelion. But don't expect either to not feel anything emotional or thoughtful in this anime. I found the death of a particular character very emotional, and characters do evolve during the anime. Kurono has changed a lot at the last episode.

I knew from the very first scenes of episode one that this anime would become something very special(at least for me). From the very first scene I could relate strongly to Kurono Kei(erm... it's not that "THAT" has happened to me exactly, but similar things have happened to me), and he even ressembles myself physically. So I got drawn into it instantly. Then we have the metro station scene(one of the best scenes I have seen in a anime if you ask me, perfectly executed and original) and it portrayed accurately how I envision society as a whole. In short: A herd of egoistical and self-absorbed worthless pathetic beings. Yes, in case you are wondering, I am a misanthrope. Imagine someone drowning on a strong-current river and there are people around. Sure they would scream and make a fuss, but who would actually jump, risk their lives, and help the person drowning in the river? Nobody. There is this minor annoying detail about the scene however. They could have easily jumped away to the side from the track, because the border wasn't that high really, especially for Katou, but heck, I suppose it had to be done that way but it wouldn't have hurt to make the border higher. This anime is very straightforward. You are not treated to the usual confusion and mumbo jumbo you are submitted to in other series of the same genre, and I like that. At least someone has got the balls to be different. Also, there is not this usual unreal beauty of character, here everything and everyone is pretty sh*tty and flawed, just like in real life. Character portrayal in this anime is not fictional, it is very real. Most people are willing to stand and fight for themselves only, just like here. Most people will do all sort of unethical things if they knew they could get away with them, just like here. I can feel your indignation: "No, that's not true!!" -Think again, please, think again... But you know what? This is also a tale of how people form really close attachments when facing hardships together. It is a tale of how much people are willing to give to protect someone dear.

I like a lot how in this anime you are often shown what people are thinking. You will hear the verbalization of the thoughts in their minds, most often of Kurono's. There is also this thing I absolutely love about how the plot advances. I'll try not to spoil anything, I'll just tell you that in this anime characters are recycled often, even main characters. I find that brave, original and awesome. I am a person that gets bored very easily, and what the writers of this anime accomplish by killing off characters often is that I never get bored. There was also this subplot I loved: there is one character who is being targeted by a bully at school. Instead of avoiding the bully like most people would do, this character goes after him as soon as he heards that the bully wants to screw him(literally...). He catched him off guard in a bathroom, and beats the crap out of him, I nearly pissed my pants in joy at that scene. He was never again bothered by the bully( by definition, bullys are cowards in reality). If you like bully-pwning, you will like this anime most probably. There is also a few sex scenes, Kurono is a horny SOB. There is this dialogue before one of the sex scenes that is priceless xDDDDD

The OP is just plain cool and goes really well with the mood of the anime, and theme music is awesome. I find it impossible to understand how there is no OST available for this anime, because it has a better OST than most series that get their OST's released. There are 3 or 4 very memorable BGM's.The animation has a very adult and unique style to it. Face proportions are realistic and I like the alien designs.

So in my opinion, this anime is seriously underrated. It deserves recognition just for the pure fun and originality it contains.

I wasn't too impressed with Gantz after the first 4 episodes. I figured it would get a little more involved in development, but to my dissappointment it didn't.

Don't get me wrong though. The anime is a great story and wonderfully put together plot which intertwines many character's lives. Show's how small a world we really live in. Tight designs, good variety of char, and a really intriguing storyline kept me in the game till the end.

Ill start off by agreeing that it does have some senseless nudity and sex but after watching the entire series i came to a conclusion anyone would agree with and thats that even without the nudity and sex it still wouldnt change the rating because of the amount of violence and profanity. Nonetheless this series to me is underrated and people need to take it for what it is not what it could have been because that was what the director intended. People say that it could have had more action because in the beginning everyone is a pussy but i think otherwise because the intent of the director was to express the realism of emotions in the situations the characters were placed in. This all is taken care of in the second season of Gantz where everyone is established and fully developed. The second season in conclusion is a big improvement and becomes more dramatic and action oriented than the first. So if your to get anything out of this review get this - the first season is just a set up for the second season which is more high passed and satisfying. A must watch if you ask me.

The animation in this anime was next to flawless. It was very smooth, even during the battle scenes. It was easy to watch and i have nothing against it.

The sound was decent. Only a few parts in the anime that i noticed was a mess (usually during a fight). The voice acting was also mediocre with no real weak points....but also not very strong.

The story is where this anime shines as it is very original. The story keeps you very interested from beginning to end.

The characters were also well done with a very realistic feel to them. The realistic part about them is the fact that at the beginning they are all scared and confused about whats going on. As the story and series progresses, the characters progress appropriately along with it. The only person i disliked was Katou. No real reason why I didn't like him, I just didn't.

The satisfaction after completing this show was great. I enjoyed it very much and will probably watch it again in the near future. I would recommend this anime to any person who doesn't mind a mature anime.

Gantz is something of a confusion. It goes back and forth and in the end it reveals something of an unsure director who really doesn't have it all together. It dons the mask of a drama and of a satire during the course of its duration and it can get a bit unclear.

Does this make Gantz bad? well it depends on how you look at it. There is some very offensive material in this anime and it definitely doesn't justify it completely. There also isn't a lot of plot fluency or direction and the ending is very uncertain.
Not to say that Gantz doesn't have it's good moments, cause it does and they shine quite brightly; but it's just what you have to go through to get there.

In the end it's something only to pursue if you really have your own mind made up.

Gantz is an anime that you're not really sure if you should have enjoyed it as much as you did! With nothing to offer the viewer other than serious gore, sex and violence and a crazy black ball that likes playing with people; it'll make you laugh, groan, wince and think "dude I wouldn't mind a suit like that" ^__^

Amazing, this is one exclusive anime. First of all story reminds me of some movies, but its very unique in its own way. People who get to the small room , from various death situations. Everyone of them struggles for survival, such tightness in the air in that fateful hour. However story doesnt focus only on their fight against the aliens. It gives as much attention to their lives after survival. It seems they all want to get back alive more than anything else, but then second thoughts comming up about rotten society. However most of them understands the value of life, no matter how bad it may be, but reality is always cruel. Watching this anime I almost cried, I really did want to, becouse so many things turned so wrong, that i even didint expect it would. After going through hell, the ones whos alive, face more problems. It's pretty touchy anime, that reflects our real life problems.

Animation: Is very good, i dont have to say anything against it. I always got a clear picture watching this fabulous anime.

Sound: Probably may be weakest point, but definately not bad. Sometimes when much stuff were going on, there was quite a mess with sound, with music, yelling and effects combined.

Story: It may seem you have heard it somewhere, but it is very unique. It's one of those stories which puts people on trials, but definately that's one exciting storyline.

Character: even though, main character started to piss me off with its swearings, yelling and being bad ass cold hearted at some points i gotta give 10. All characters where different, with their opinions, with their point of view, and at some situations acting very real, giving important questions as if in real life would be really the same. Very good.

Value: It's definately a collectable value, if you liked it, you may rewatch it after some time so worth keeping. This anime may be a refreshing glass of water sometimes, as it was for me.
