| This is a poorly executed comedy anime series that seems to have a lot to offer but just doesn't excite in any way. Rather, the setup, and I don't mean 'episode 1', seems like it's have a lot to offer, but unfortunately that's all there is to it.
The primary problem with this anime is that the comedy is timed very poorly. The setup for jokes is far too obvious, making every joke like someone telling you "Ready? Ready? I'm about to tell a joke, ok? Ok, here it is! Joke! Hahahah!"
So, this anime is just not funny. I find myself sitting through episode after episode staring blankly at the screen for most of their 20-ish minutes (not counting the intro or outro), waiting for something unusual to happen or some miraculously well-placed punchline, but it just continues being too obvious, too forced, too bland, too repetitive.
I just can't recommend this comedy. It's got some good aspects, but it's all in setup and only rarely in execution.

| It's sad that any school-based story is inevitably going to be compared to Azumanga Daioh. A.D. set a very high bar and it is very difficult to reach such exacting standards. I really wish people would consider this anime on its own merits.
That being said, I found this anime to be enjoyable. The characters are designed to play off each other in humorous ways. In a few places, it's predictable, in others, quite funny. However, it's never boring.
The story itself concerns the tale of Mika Suzuki, a 27-year-old woman who looks like a 10-year-old girl (she maybe suffering from what's known as Schwatzman's syndrome; one of the other symptoms of this is lower back pain, which she seems to have a lot.) Mika still lives with her parents and her father still thinks of her as daddy's little girl. Her class, filled with a bunch of quirky characters, can't seem to take her seriously.

| Sensei no Ojikan seems to try to be like Azumanga Daioh: let's put a bunch of wacky characters together and see what comes of it.
Too bad SnO (tin oxide?) fails in making the characters something else than empty joke machines. They all have a feature that is repeated in every episode and many times. Not good. Nothing really makes me think they are real persons like the characters of AD or School Rumble did.
There's also the problem with the childlike teacher. In AD Yukari was an adult teacher who acted more or less like a child, so she could have a connection with the students. In SnO Mika might as well be a child. Nothing makes her appear like a teacher. It's very hard to draw humor from a teacher-student relationship when there's no real teacher present.
I don't say that the studenst wouldn't be funny and strong personalities. They are that, excessively so. If you want to have an enjoyable series for more than a couple episodes, those characters should some flesh, something that makes you like them or find them sympathetic. I loved AD's characters: I didn't want the series end even after 26 episodes. After some three episodes SnO has already used everything it had, the rest of the episodes are simple repetitions that went by as I shrugged my shoulders.
As the story is nonexistant, it's hard to say anything about it. Just a collection of gags wrapped together. Animation uses a lot of writing which is rather annoying for someone who doesn't understand them. Otherwise it's clear and nice and doesn't try to do anything special. Funny opening and ending songs with some good sound effects too. Unfortunately as the jokes grow old, so do the sound effects and in the end they annoyed me too.
As there are two clearly superior weird humor school life anime (Azumanga Daioh and School Rumble) it's almost impossible to recommend such an average series to anyone. It's good for a few laughs anyway.

| This anime is nothing special. "School life" explains it all. Also this is another teacher anime like "GTO" and "Gokusen." Even though I found this anime to be the least funniest in the teacher anime category, the animation has pull a significant score of this anime.
Unlike GTO and Gokusen, don't expect the teacher to do something special, but she was teased and make fun of by most of student in her class. (Not in a bad way, however.) At least her students are respectful, that's a big difference between Sensei no Ojikan and GTO, Gokusen.
There's no particular story in this anime. Just a 12 episode to show the pride of Mika sensei becomming a respectful teacher. Different student have their unique personality, which is shown obivously in the anime. Funny, at least 2 of them are gay.
Anyway, dispite of Mika sensei's appearence, she did a fine job teaching a class and make her student to enjoy learning. I guess that's what this anime is about and that's about it.
In general: OK series. A relaxing anime to enjoy. Give this a shot if you are curious.

| Good situational comedy with a lots of characterizations. I feel is just right the character voices perfectly suited for each other less of a story than Azumanga daioh but is still unique to itself, the funniest characters is Mika's overprotective dad who always spoils her even though she is 27 old teacher and her mom that is strict, so kind of a role reversal there. Funny stuff go check it out.

| Here's what I have to say, this Mika sensei is too cute for words and her students are just full of personality.
The strong points to this anime is of course characters and replay value. Fun Fun Fun.
Pros:
+Animation above average
+Characters (especially Mika sensei)
+Great replay value.
+Funny
Cons:
-Kiddy soundtrack
-Not really a story to follow
Overall 9.0/10 If anything separates what Azumanga daioh and DOKI DOKI SCHOOL HOURS is that Azumanga had some simbilance to a story and DOKI DOKI didn't. The animation is above average and characters shine in this anime, the cons as I pointed out was the kiddy soundtrack with the no story. The comedy however does rock.

| I thought this show had so much promise after the first ep but then it went downhill fast. Each of the characters had their little quirks which was funny at first but then they ran the same jokes into the ground over and over. There was absolutely no creativity at all.

| A lot of people refer to this anime as an Azumanga Daioh knock-off, and a lot of other ones counter that by saying that the Sensei no Ojikan manga came before any of it. The fact of the matter is, however, that AD was put in anime format before SnO, and in what I found to be a far better fashion. This anime often comes off as charmless and sometimes even predictable, which is a bad thing for something in the comedy genre.
AzuDai's characters were the force that drove the anime. They are the most endearing cast of misfits to ever come out of Japan, in my opinion, and that is why I hold the anime so dear to me. Sensei No Ojikan's characters absolutely pale in comparison. They play off the EXACT SAME TRAITS for each character, and unlike AD, these traits are not nearly general or unique enough to pull off consistent humor for 13 episodes. Instead of AD, where each character has a very entertaining personality to flaunt for the audience, Sensei No Ojikan's characters work off of one single mannerism or quirk. There's absolutely no depth to them. I was bored with the Sensei No Ojikan crew's antics by the fifth episode. An average episode of the anime would go something like this: Wow! Seki crossdresses, Kitagawa has a fat crush on teacher, Kudo likes boys, and a bunch of other characters with idiosyncracies that we don't really care about do funny things! OMGLOL! I admit that I found the anime funny at first, but it quickly became way too routine. The charm of Azumanga Daioh's characters is that they have such entertaining and fun chemistry together, and react with such joyous execution to the wacky stuff happening around them that it really brings life to the anime. Sensei no Ojikan, with its overpredictable and cardboard characters, does not have this.
I don't know if AD intentionally ripped this anime/manga off or not, but if it did then it filled in just about every fault that Sensei no Ojikan has to account for. At the end of the day, this anime is just a good premise that was carried out in a hollow and quickly-degenerating manner, and I doubt it can recuperate itself in the few episodes it has left. Unfortunate, because the characters do show promise despite their repetition, and with stronger writing the series could have become a lot better.

| The first ep was hilarious, but after that they just played on each characters idiosyncracies over and over. It all ceased to be funny. Comparing this to Azumanga is an insult.

| This series, SCREAMS!! Enjoyment altogether. This may not be your typical shoujo or love story anime, but boy is it ever funny.
Each episode follows the typical, normal daily lives of teachers and students. It hits realism with how high school is in asian countries. Adding the typical problems that plague most girl students, (E.G. weight and fashion), with a teacher that is problematic with her weight specially with her height!! Each character is unique, and each has their own personality. Very humurous and is fun to watch, and very funny jokes, specially with the homo jokes.
This Anime is Highly recommended, for everyone to watch, who just want to have a bunch of laughs!!!

| Its a simple looking anime with average animation, sound and story, but its good in its own way like Azumanaga Daioh. Its based around a bunch of stereotypical characters and their interaction, might sound dull but its actually hilarious and the characters and voice acting are done nicely.

| Reminds me alot of Azumanga Daioh. This has pretty much no ongoing story and just follows what the students and the teacher are doing during the day. The animation is ok, character designs are pretty much standard school anime fare, except for the teacher, who looks like a cute little girl.
I found the show to be pretty funny and enjoyable, so enjoy it for that as i doubt it will have that much of a story if any.

| Sensei no Ojikan has that glitch of humor that can be compared to Azumanga Daioh. Even if Sensei no Ojikan came first, it still can be compared.
With this special humor that can make laugh for quite long time. Voiceactors are terrific, opening and ending- themesongs is some of 2004's best swingers! ^^, I recommend this anime warmly.

| Okay, but nothing that great. It is clearly trying to be like Azumanga Daioh with a bit of Bottle Fairy thrown in, but it doesn't really work. It's funny, but there doesn't seem to be any real substance to it. AD kept in simple - 5 to 6 main characters, a teacher or two, keep it at that.
This tries to be too smart for its own good. Escapism is nice, but this ends up being more like an adult version of AD with more shock value and less of the character empathy and kawaiiness.
And can someone explain why J. C. Staff was in the credits for the 1st ep in the ending bit? They're not credited here. Meh, good for a quick laugh but not much else. Heck, I might even take Bottle Fairy over this passe AD clone.

| If you liked Amumanga Daioh you will LOVE this show. It is pretty much an Azumanga Daioh clone, which is a good thing in my book.
The characters are all very funny and Mika sensei is pretty much Chiyo Chan in 14 years =)
File this one under High School Comedy. if there was a Comedy rating this show would recieve a 10+. Very very funny and very very cute also.

| As almost everyone else has said, this anime aches to be Azumanga Daioh.... At least, its format suggests so. Which is a good thing as it has been a while since we've had a show that is trying to be that funny.
But it isn't Azumanga Daioh, really, and should be considered on its own merits, which are okay, but not great. There is an air of deliberation to the humour which makes it feel forced. If the introductions were over in the first half-episode, and the second episode in the second half, then we'd be getting something with the zeal and vigour of Azumanga, which managed to look slow (but wasn't).
Or maybe the characters just aren't there, yet.... They'll probably grow on me in time. I like one or two but most are bland.
But, all in all, fairly reasonable for this bland current patch of anime.

| The first episode is done a bit differently from the rest of the series (so far). It has numerous 30 second to 2 minute quick comic sketches to introduce all the characters. The rest of the series isn't as chaotic.
An interesting cast of characters with a bunch of quick jokes and bad puns. Its enjoyable and about the same type of enjoyment as Azumanga Daioh, but not quite the same quality.
