| Koi Kaze had a very unique and touchy story. This is the anime which you should watch if you love romance animes.I feel that this anime really is underrated.
Unlike other romance animes which had a cool
male lead,Koi Kaze presents you a bland and not charming male lead.Even worst, his partner
is his sister(in high school age)and not to mention 12 years younger than him!
The direction that the story advanced wasn't
common at all and the decisions made by the characters were very different. The ending was very special in the end,and of course a good one.

| Koi Kaze
Let me start this review by saying Koi Kaze is the most depressing story I've ever seen. A love that cannot blossom does just that gradually throughout the series, with the viewers sense of dread building along with the story. This isn't for kids.
There will be MINOR spoilers when I'm describing the story/characters since I'm feeling a little chatty. :)
Plot: 9.7
The plot of Kai Koze is very simple: A brother and a sister who haven't seen each other since they were very little start living together (along with their father) when 15 year old Nanoka (who had been living with the siblings mother) needs to move closer to her new school. The brother, Koshiro, is 27, meaning there's a 12 year age gap between the siblings. The two instantly have a connection and feelings for each other that go above simple friendship/family feelings.
Before the pair learn they are brother and sister, they bump into each other on a train after Nanoka drops her ID card. They later randomly bump into each again, ending up going together to an amusement park since Koshiro had just been given 2 tickets. They end up having a heart to heart, telling each other about their love problems, Koshiro ending up crying. They find out they are siblings when their dad meets them together as they're exiting the amusement park.
Koshiro's initial reaction to the sister revelation is to be nasty to her, hiding the conflict going on inside himself. He doesn't want to face up to his feelings for her, choosing instead to simply act like a bad brother. Nanako, being young and naive, initially has no idea about Koshiro's feelings and doesn't understand her own, leading her to be confused about Koshiro's transformation from nice guy to bad brother. She does manage to discover he does care for her due to his actions - Concerned when she has period cramps, worried when she's out in the rain, jealous when she's talking to boys, etc.
As you might have worked out after reading the above, Koi Kaze deals with a taboo subject without really holding back. That doesn't mean incest is glorified here (if anything it's the opposite since the story is tragic); what it does is show a true love that can never be in this world. Both parties don't want to feel how they do, they just do and cannot change it.
The series progresses at a slow pace as their relationship develops. At first it bothered me that nothing seemed to be happening, but once it gripped me the episodes seemed to be going much faster. Give it chance before dropping it.
Characters: 9.7/10
With the focus being on the love between two siblings, the two get a lot of attention.
Koshiro is constantly in conflict with himself throughout the series. His brain knows what he's thinking and doing is wrong, yet his heart tells him otherwise. He tries to hide his inner conflict from Nanako by simply being a bad brother at first, attempting to push her away. His guilt over how he feels eventually drops down and allows him to be VERY friendly with her, but he still knows it's wrong to think and feel how he does about his kid sister.
Nanako, on the other hand, doesn't have the same conflict Koshiro has going on right from the start. Being naive, she takes his aggressive attitude as nothing more than him being a bad brother, not able to understand what reason he could possibly have to act the way he does. She does eventually start to understand that her own feelings are above and beyond sisterly love, leading to the feelings of both coming out in the open.
Both characters have a lot of depth, as you'd expect. The rest of the cast don't really get fleshed out very much, but that doesn't matter an awful lot when the 2 most important characters do get fully fleshed out, hence the high rating.
Art / Animation: 8.5/10
It looks and moves good enough for a show without any action sequences. The art, while not of the highest level, looks good enough to make Nanako look like the most cute thing I've ever seen.
There's no problems, the series is in wide-screen and looks more than good enough for a series that doesn't need fights to drive it.
Sound: 8.5/10
I didn't like the soundtrack very much at first due to there not being many tracks that stand out. However, on reflection, I understand that the music used was pretty much perfect for this type of show - It's irrelevant how many tracks there are that I'd listen to away from the series; the only thing that matters is that the music fits the series and sets the right mood for whatever scene it's playing during, which the Koi Kaze soundtrack does.
Total: 9.1/10
Overall, Koi Kaze is one the best series I've ever watched...along with I being the most depressing and one of the most unsettling. If you can handle a tragic story, this series is unmissable.

| Putting aside the whole idea of incest and pedophilic tendencies, this was a painful animation to watch. You will probably want to take a shower after viewing it. The main character is Koshiro Saeki, a 30 year old office worker at a wedding arrangement business who lives with his divorced father. He has just been dumped by his girlfriend (I find it amazing that he had one) and during his depression he notices a high school girl on a train. It turns out that this girl is his younger sister Nanoka, by 12 years, who is now going to live with him and his father. He doesn’t recognize her and one thing leads to another and they develop distinctly unsibling like feelings for each other.
In the end, despite potential parental thrombosis, societal ostracism and common sense, they continue their relationship, even after being given several ways out. This behavior might be understandable for an early teenage girl but not for a 30 year old adult. Koshiro demonstrates himself as a coward with little thought as to what problems his unrestrained feelings will cause Nanoka, their parents or his own future. This was like watching a train wreck in slow motion. You know what’s going to happen but want to watch it anyways. I just wonder which time slot this way air at in Japan? Probably the same one as Ebichu, not taking anything away from that side splitting anime.
I cannot recommend this show unless it's used for a character study of deviant behavior in a psychology class.

This was a very unique and simple anime that left me really surprised. This is a story about a lonely man whom after breaking up with his ex runs into a girl that changes his life forever. She brings brief happiness to the man’s existence, and when they meet again it seems like destiny is playing a role in this little tale. The problem at first is that the girl is only 15, and the man doubts whether it is a good idea to even hang out with her, however she once again touches his heart and he falls in love. To add fuel to the fire the man later learns that she is in fact his sister that was separated from him 10 years ago. The man now starts to try forget about the feeling he felt for her, because how could one have such feeling for his sister?
This story really touches on ethics, because this story is so well told that the viewer is drawn into it and will often end up cheering on for the characters. This is obviously wrong in the real world, but this story so subtly allows the characters to grow in a way that we see them as destined to be together and we have to ask ourselves, is this really wrong in their case?
The story is simple, no complex, plot twisting details are involved. But what makes it so great is how the story slowly develops in front of the viewer, never dragging and ever engaging. It feels like a classic Kurosawa piece, that’s how much I enjoyed this anime. It is done so well, that you don’t throw up over the thought of a brother and sister loving each other on a different level. Both characters never know what the other is thinking, and both have their own definition of love. The view of the sisters “love” is very realistic for that of a 15 year old, and likewise for that of the brother. The brother is obviously more mature and he knows it is wrong, whereas the sister doesn’t, yet the feeling is mutual. Amazingly simple yet it really makes you think about the topic at hand. When such a controversial “one way” topic is told in such a way to make the viewer consider the other direction, if only for a moment… you know this is a real gem of a well told story.
The story is mainly so well told due to the realistic development of the characters, namely the bother and sister. The viewer gets to know everything about them, hell even the brother has a certain slump to his walk when he is depressed. It is amazing how real the characters are projected on screen.
The ending is open-ended; it is probably for the best as to not give the viewer the wrong impressions. The relationship can go anywhere from there, it’s up to the viewer to decide, it makes it that much more special. The ending is more prevalent in the 2nd last episode where they have a chance to end it all, yet they are hopeless to stop their feeling for one another. Magical.
Obviously if they had grown up together they would not have felt the same way, but just as fate had it they are siblings. The show never forces the idea of incest down the viewer’s throat, it is all told in a meaningful and realistic way. However one will probably have to be open-minded to even accept this kind of concept, but if you can put it past you, I definitely recommend this masterpiece to you.

| This anime is one of the more unique ones and more mature ones that so happen to be around. It pretty much involves a relationship between a brother and a sister. I know whart your all thinking but it actually makes since and it won't necessarily make you feel weird.
Although I still do agree that a relationship with a brother and a sister with an age gap of like 11-12 years is wrong but this anime for some reasons will make you think about the characters situation in this.
Animation -
The animation has a different look then what most other animes. The backgrounds and character shave a more lighter color which I happen to appreciate because I don't think every anime needs to be dark bright colors. The character designs weren't the regular. The figures of the characters were different from most, for example one of the two main characters Koshiro, he actually had more hair than just on his head. Like on the arms and the ruffy sideburns and etc.
Sound -
Both, the opening theme and the ending theme fit this perfectly with the soft sound and voiceit so happened to have. The background music really helped set up a lot of the scenes and also during the scenes. The seiyuu did a really fine job with expresing the different emotions all during the series.
Story -
I really thought this anime would've had maybe 24 or 26 episodes when I first began to watch this. think it could've had more episodes that add more twists but it had a good ending.
This is not your typical romance anime ibecaause its actually a pretty good one with touching point sthroughout its 12 episodes. I thought that the plot was good and gave enough detail for it to get the score I gave it. Though its not the best plot I've happen to come acroos it sure is a good one. The ending of Koi kaze makes you wonder about how things are going to happen with the brother and sister. Its doen' give it all away.
Characters -
These were some of the best characters that I have happen to see and i mean it. Usually in your average aime the characters when they have conflict its usually external which i with an oposing person, Koi Kaze has external conflict but more importantly it has internal conflict which means having a conflict with his/her ownself. I really felt emotions toward the charcters personality especially through the developement. These characters actually have issues and don't have it all figured out in the end.
Value -
First off I do not recomend this to everyone because it has a more mature theme to it that really makes you think. I do think the rewatch value is pretty high for me. After watching this I think I'm going to go out and find a good deal on a boxset for my anime collection.

| This is easily one of the most interesting animes have ever watched.
Even though the plot is something that every single person might have to face in their lifetime, nowhere else have I seen it dealt with in such A direct and open way, as this subject is extremely sensitive in all societies and is very taboo.
From the beginning, you can sense that the feelings between Nanoka and Koushiro is just A little above A brother-sister relationship, especially when they met in episode 1(even though they didn't know they were siblings).
I Loved the animation. It was very simple, but at the same time it paid attention to detail, to the parts that mattered. I felt that the characters and their emotions were portrayed very well without having to use miniature, over exaggerated sprites. The scenery and backgrounds were also very nice.
I Think the sound was fitting, but also generic at the same time, although generic isn't always bad. The OP was light hearted and nice, also the BGM did a good job of telling you the atmosphere at that time.
As I said, this story is truly unique in all ways. The Love of a brother and sister, that evolved into something more. You must ask yourself, would it have been like this if they had known eachothers their entire lives? At the end of the series, I didn't know how I should feel about what I watched, plainly because it is something that is so illicit, but their love for eachother is so great that it makes it very, very beautiful, and at the same time kind of twisted and sick.
As you probably know by now, the true gem of this anime is the characters. You get to know these people, their habits, their likes and dislikes. You get to watch nanoka slowly develop her feelings, and at the same time you realize that Koushiro is A perfectly normal person. He tries to make the right decisions, he hates himself for what he does, but at the same time, he can't deny the strongest emotion taking over him - love.
Overall this was A very enjoyable anime. If you looked at this as A love story, it is purely beautiful, But if you looked at this as A story between a sister and her brother, this is kind of sick. Just keep an open mind and try to realize what they are feeling, and how powerful love can truly be.

| Koi Kaze is perhaps the most different class of anime ever made. For starters it deals with a concept often dealt with other anime (Angel Sanctuary, Ayashi no Ceres) in a totally different manner from the others. Unlike other series, Koi Kaze deals with the problem of incest in a very poignant way. This is what sets it apart, other series just take it for granted. Koi Kaze asks should incest be allowed if it is consensual - if yes, then what should be done about it? (Wonder what would be the reaction of orthodox people when they see this on their supermarket shelves.)
From the second episode itself, I realized that this is an anime many people will love to hate - it has all elements - a 15 year old girl (a minor) and a 27 year old man who have a realtionship more than that of a brother and a sister. What more can you ask for - paedophillia and incest in one anime *chuckle* But despite taking up on such themes, it was remarkable for it to carry on such themes without becoming base/vulgar. Yes, there are some moments (episode 4) which are very disturbing, but such moments will have to be present when such a topic is broached upon. Setting these scenes aside, Koi Kaze remains a very good drama anime. If you can stomach such scenes, Koi Kaze is a very rewarding anime indeed.
The animation of the anime was different from others, the brother is unlike any other 'hero' I have encountered. He is burly, rude, does not shave and for most of time remains grumpy, and most of all is not likeable. Nanako is also shown differently from 15 year old girls - for she actually looks like one. The backgrounds are drawn very nicely, with smooth colours. I paricularly liked the music of the anime. Both the OP and the ED are beautiful songs with very beautiful lyrics. The BGM, mainly piano themes were also done wonderfully. The voice characters were awesome, Nanako sounds like a 15 year old girl - no helium/nasal pitched voices, Koshiro does really looks like a frustated character, who has a very serious problem at hand. All other characters like Nanko's friend, Chidori were also acted upon wonderfully.
As far as the characters are concerned, rarely have such complex, intense characters been put up on screen. Koshiro at once comes upon as guy we can relate with in epsode 1 (the scene in the ferris wheel was very touching), an then he takes a complete U-turn to become a grumpy, uncouth man - only to hide his true lonely self, and to hide his affection for Nanako. While not likable initially (at one point almost hateful), he is wonderfully shown and is unbelievingly realistic. By the end of the 10th episode one feels for him, and can empathise with him. Nanako while initially shown as 'just another 15 year old girl' is also amazing, and comes across as a female of substance. Her stance on the relationship with his brother (which often deabated to be an infatuation) was shown in an amazing manner. I especially liked the roles of Chidori and Nanako's friend who are afraid of what is happening, trying to prevent the lead characters to go down the spiral, but in the end helpless to stop it. All the characters were such that, they make you think, they make you sit back and debate with yourself whether the actions taken by the leads correct or not. And hence I believe that the characters are truly amazing.
Koi Kaze will obviously never be appreciated - it is much to controversial - normal people are just not ready for it. My friends hated it and I was labeled as a 'sick person' for actually enjoying this show. But that is what it is. A controversial show. It differs from other shows which deal with incest by the fact, that this is about the characters who willfully fall in love, even though they know that the steps taken by them are forbidden. And the way this is shown is remarkable. Hidden in the episodes are symbollisms - which when understood make the anime even more satisfying. Though I didnot agree with the course taken by the characters at various points of the story, I never found it unsatisfying. Though the ending was left to the viewer to decide upon (many issues are left unresolved), I found it inherently satisfying. Koi Kaze is one of the best drama series I've seen. Two thumbs up.

| Sounds awful, but it's not nearly as bad as it sounds. The age difference is indeed rather big, but it's not really an issue seeing both parties are over the legal age of consent (in Japan anyway). The whole bro-sis thing is the huge issue, and it's not taken lightly.
In the manga, and in the anime to a slightly lesser extent due to time constraints, Koshiro (the guy) puts forth a valiant effort to make everything right and kill any chance for disaster, but of course he fails in spectacular fashion. Koshiro's epic failure is mostly due to Nanoka (the girl) totally destroying any cleverly crafted barriers he put up to protect the two of them.
Throughout most of the story, the older, wiser Koshiro does a great job of suppressing his feelings, but at the same time he has no idea what's going on in Nanoka's head. In fact neither character knows what the other is thinking for a good half of the story, which is why Nanoka's sudden brutal honesty and unrelenting persistence totally catches Koshiro off guard. Of course Koshiro's aforementioned walls come crashing down and epic life-altering mistakes ensue.
Nanoka’s character development in the anime is a bit less pronounced, and the anime also mixes the order of events around compared to the manga, but overall I believe they did the best they could within the constraints of a relatively short animated program. The deviations from the original manga don’t seem to detract all that much from the story.
Overall Koi Kaze is a beautiful story of vast cultural significance and I would recommend it to anyone with more than half a brain, but please, read the manga as well. Knowing the full story as it was originally intended does so much for this series.

| (AnimeFin fansubs, translation couldnt be better)
At last one good romantic anime with amazing character developement that is overall much better than the acclaimed Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien. The topic of the anime is about incest.
It is important to have in mind that here incest is treated carefully and with subtlety . I dont know whether the anime producers insinuated that the siblings had sex together. It shows them naked though. Prior to the anime I had read the manga that took a little different approach and had a much better ending and the characters there were even more convincing. If taken for granted that an anime scenario is based on a manga, in the manga the sexual act never occured, even though Koshiro seriously considered buying a condom in the final volume but dismissed the idea.
As it stands though, basically here every aspect of incest is treated except the culmination of the sexual act.
This makes Koi Kaze (both manga and anime) even better and more exciting to watch.
The anime on the other hand, though the characters were inferior to the manga they were nevertheless outstanding. The series starts midly but episode by episode it gets more and more tense. Their reactions and behaviour were as realistic as they could . Except the expressions also the very good sound effects helped. Rarely have I heard the sound of a hand touching the face of a girl in an animated feature.Almost every detail has been carefully taken care of.
Overall one of the best mature character developements I've seen so far. In the end I wondered what was more important, them having the relation or finding a way to express their feelings to the people surrounding them. Koi Kaze stops there. It doesnt go that far so that things would turn more complicated and the situation even more out of control. As an anime it has fullfilled its purpose.
If you've seen and enjoyed the film ''Lolita''
you'll also enjoy Koi Kaze. Recommended for mature viewers. If you can read also the manga. It doesnt matter which comes first since the one complements the other.

| At face value this seems no more than a chronicle of a scandalous love affair. In fact it is, but it is done in such away that, barring the most resolute hatred of incest and/or age disparity, will keep you watching.
Animation-wise this is hardly ground breaking and pretty much average. If you are looking for over proportioned people then you will be most disappointed. Though credit must be given for the two main characters.
In terms of sound it is fairly standard and won't have you pining away for the sound track. Still it does set the mood for the story quite nicely.
Story wise it builds up fairly slowly and is masterfully done. It does feel disturbingly real in terms of the comings and goings since like your average day almost nothing major happenes directly near you. It is an excellent drama that will try to lead you to sympathize with Koshiro and Nanoka. Up until the end you don't know whether or not they will end up together as hints suggesting yay or nay are littered about. Also suffice to say they did leave enough to the imagination. Definitely not for children though unless as a parent you feel that your kids are mature to process it.
As for the characters all but three are dealt with seriously and given the length of the series this is wholly understandable. Unlike many a drama protagonist confronted with a dilemma he tries to correct the situation rather than simply cry about it, though he does do that. His efforts to hide his feelings are commendable and he probably did far more than a lesser character would have done in his place. Nanoka clings to her older sibling much as a child would do and does come off as geniunely sincere about her feelings. Kaname Chidori performs well as a good friend to Koshiro. Like a true friend she does try to reason with him about Koshiro's controversial feelings. Her attempts to help her friend are crafty and one can't help but to admire the deviousness of it. Even though she has objections she remians loyal enough not to gossip about it.
As a drama it was enjoyable, but value wise depending on your own values it can either have you questioning your previously held views (thus promoting serious reflection) or put you in a state of disgust.
Does this constitute as a lolita series? No, simply because Koshiro is only 12 years senior hardly old enough to be Nanoka's dad, and he lacks the obession for "nymphets" in general. As far as I know Nanoka is 15, one year above the age of consent and one year away from the possibility of a formal marraige. (In Japan of course)
In regards ot incest I found it hardly shocking and upon reflection the only objection I had was the narrowing of the gene pool. As Voltiare said "He could not claim that she was his sister...as it was so fashionable among the ancients." In reference to Abraham and Sarah, numerous ancient pantheons, and in light of history instances of incest within the royal line of Egyptian Pharohs.

| A tale of forbbiden love. Tackling 2 taboos head-on: incest and extreme age difference, something not for everyone, but I loved it. This was one of the few animes that made me really have the urge to watch right until the end. Really did remind me of the film "Lolita".
The story very simple, an older man falls in love with his younger sister, the ending was predictable and yet, this was such a good anime.
The characters were what made this such an interesting anime, the characters were limited in number and so you get to know them well. The pain the 2 main characters feel is very apparent for the audience.
Animation was simple, lots of water colour style drawing which was great as it fitted in with the story and mood – it felt simple and innocent. The lead female, Nanoka, was really cute, definitely one of the most original character design I have seen.
Something that could have been better is the sound, the music was lovely, but to be honest, they could have really injected more punch into it to strengthen and make the emotions more obvious.
I have always said that perfection can only emerge through simplicity, this wasn’t perfect in any way, but it’s damn good. A simple love story that is very bold and very fresh. I would strongly recommend this to anyone whose doesn’t have a strong hatred or dislike towards incest or age difference in relationships.

| although i may not like the theme about"the-other-kind-of-sibling-love", the story was presented rather well and it didn't turn out to be disgusting at all.
one can see and feel the dilemma of the brother.... to love his sister like a lover, feel happy and to go against what society condemns as taboo OR to suppress his feelings but feel miserable. one can't guess what choice he would pick in the end and this is what kept me watching till the end.
the way the story was presented wasn't as perverted as the theme and i feel a little bit "sympathetic" to the brother's plight.
i gave a low value because i don't encourage this kind of LOVE which is abnormal. both kind of mistake the love they feel towards each other as "lovers love" coz of the long separation? they should feel alienated because they haven't seen each other for quite a long time. i really can't understand why they can feel LOVE other than the normal sibling-love.

| I put the enjoyment at a 10 because this is an anime that simply must never disappear, it has a great social and cultural value. This anime is work of art, it is something that should become part of a university psychology course to understand many guys feelings towards their sisters have had at one time or another. This is one of the best overall movies dealing with real life issues of siblings feelings towards one another I have seen. Although their is a bit of undevelopment in Nanoko (Koshiro's sister).
It's difficult to relate specifically to nanoko, you intuitively feel that the author was male and simply could not write about a girl having feelings towards her brother that would look like a believable female character. Every person who has brothers or sisters and isn't grossed out by the theme of how siblings can feel more then sibling feelings towards one another should watch it. It deals with feelings many brothers and sisters have had for thousands of years but could never express in their societies because of fear or shame or because of the nature of the unrequited and one way love and affection one sibling had for another.

| This is not your basic love romance story about two people falling in love. This story took a turn of involving a romance with a brother and sister, which is very tabooish. However, despite my mere snickering and discomfort, I was able to watch through the series, but you really do see the main characters shine.
I wasn't that impressed with the animation, because it seemed like some things were animated disproportionately. But, it wasn' too bad overall.
I loved the OP and ED theme songs. They were both relaxing and I would sing along to them, heh.
The characters that strike out are of course the brother and sister, and then the brother's co-workers had their moments as well, but nothing that memorable to stick into your mind, really.
This is quite a different romance story, and some might not be able to really get into a series like this, but if you want something different, and not of those series which drag on, because this series is 12 episodes long, then take a shot.
I'd probably watch this again sometime in the future.

| As I began watching this anime, I found myself absorbed and facinated. Soon I found myself watching the whole thing. In very few animes do I find this attraction, and i found it here. That being said I can understand why this can be "LOVE IT OR HATE IT" show. It is only normal some people will be turned away by the subject. At the beginning i also felt a bit uncomfortable, but this anime is lot more than just incest love. It explores lovers struggling over their morals and society's standards.
This is where anime excels; handling a tough issue in a effortless and harmless manner.
With all that introduction said...
I absolutely loved animation on this show. I loved every bit of realism that this anime tried to convey through its style and color. The colors are far from your shojo bright colors but its really down to earth. Character designs were also simple yet very fitting for its mood. This anime is not about pretty girls and handsome guys but the psychological process characters go through and the animation helps every bit of it.
The OP is nice to listen to but it isn't the greatest. I absolutely hated the ED singer's voice and thus i hated the song. But the back ground music is great for this anime. Though it isn't something that standout, but the calming piano pieces and orchestral pieces create exquisite mood for this anime.
What really steals the show are the characters. The story being about incest, we can expect much pshychological conflict ones might go through. We are provided with very close look at the thinking process the main characters go through and we either come to understand and sympathize or point at the screen and spit. Either way the development characters go through is very well done especially on Koshiro. Nanoka however i thought little bit more back ground and development woldn't have been bad.
For each character, the viewers are brought to a question. Is Koshiro doing the logical thing? Is Nanoka just having a teenage crush that she will regret? Is this relationship true love or are they just letting out emotion due to failure in their own love life? All these questions are for us to answer and I do not believe this show presents incest in a positive view but rather neutral view. This anime is heart warming in their romance, but harsh in its criticism.
I was very hesistant to give the story a 9 because this story really is love it or hate it type and i know many will hate it. yes it's not for everyone but yes i was very impressed by the storyline. I do not encourage nor do I criticize incest, but i do think the story is brilliant in a sense that it creates situations and plots that are daring, complex, and emotional. This really is one of the issue that are not touched in a serious manner, and this anime does a very good job of it.
That being sad i was not satisfied with the ending. I thought they still had enough to material to at least make 3 to 4 more episode if not extend it to 24 episode series. This anime never put a conclusion in the storyline but it does put a conclusion on their thoughts. though not completely satisfied i wasn't completely disappointed either.
On some other site i saw some comparison with KGNE and this. all i have to say is that KGNE is complete GARBAGE, but this anime is definetely worth watching. KGNE is not realistic nor is it impressive, but this anime truly is. In every aspect i believe this anime is better.
I really enjoyed this anime. If you can't get over the subject issue (which i think is actually quite normal), you will be turned down by it. if you do get over it, you will be absorbed by the realistic animation, great background music, daring/complex storyline, and very interesting characters. This i among the better romance anime i've watch and I believe you will enjoy this anime too.

| This is one of the most unique anime's i have ever seen. Koi Kaze is a look into a forbiden love between an older brother and a younger sister. It may sound sick and disturbing to some people, but i found it to be a very touching, romantic story.
The animation was a bit strange and hard to get used to, the characters werent as detailed as other anime's ive seen. At times it got very blury and hard to make out the characters facial expressions.
The opening sound track was nice to listen to and it really made me feel relaxed and at peace. some of the sound tracks in the anime were a bit overused but it wasnt a big deal.
The storyline was great. every feeling and emotion the characters have are explained in detail and you really start to sympathize with them. The first 6 episodes are a bit "rocky" as the main character "Koshiro" is trying to cope with his emotions but it does get better and has a happy ending. I honestly couldnt have asked for a better ending.
The characters are what makes Koi Kaze so interesting. Both Koshiro and Nanoka go through huge transformations from begining to end. There is a 12 year age difference between them and on top of that they are siblings, so you can bet things deffinately wont be ordinary.
Overall, i really enjoyed this anime. If youve ever wondered how love between a brother and sister would be possible than this is a must see. Koi Kaze is best viewed with an open heart and an open mind.

| One day, an average clunky, unemotional 27 year old businessman who recently got dumped by his girlfriend is walking along, and he meets a 15 year old high school girl, who also has recently gotten dumped. Through certain circumstances, they spend a while together, during which he makes an emotional connection with this girl. But, that very same day, his father introduces his estranged sister to him, who happens to be that very girl.
If you have a problem with a brother loving his sister, this anime isn't as outwards on that subject as you may have been led to believe. In my opinion, their relationship really borders on platonic and love. One thing's for certain, it's certainly not the same as with other romance titles like KGNE. They seem to be right on that edge where they have physical, and more emotional attractions to each other too. The main character, Koshiro, is the one who first has feelings for his sister, but he is smart enough to try and push them away. But, every time he gets it right, his sister, Nanoka, starts developing her own feelings for him which throws him out of his loop.
The story does well in keeping the theme low profile, there's no explicit scenes or anything that would disgust anyone, and although Koshiro does go through some mild perverted men sequences, it's not to the extent that you start to dislike him. No, there's something to like here between the two characters, and they are developed well, as is the story. Even though you can't imagine this kind of thing with your own brother or sister, for some reason you still feel sympathetic of them. This is mostly due to the fact that Koshiro does act responsible. He knows it's wrong, and tries to fix it. The ending is not exactly mind-blowing, and may leave a lot unsatisfied, but it is what is is, a subtle ending to a difficultly told story.
The art is decent and pretty much standard, although the line drawn above Nanoka's mouth sometimes looks distasteful. The music is subdued, and gets angsty when needed, and fitting, but not really something I'd want out of the anime (like say, Elfen Lied). The opening theme sounds generic, as does the ending theme.
Basically, the meat of the package is the story and characters. An important thing here is that there are so many situations where it is drilled into the story that the situation is not regular. There is a scene when Nanoka almost tells a classmate about her feelings about Koshiro, and another where her classmates are about to follow Nanoka to find out what she's been hiding. The results of all of these are unbearable to think about, and luckily the writers manage to keep that sense of edge of the situation, while not doing anything too unbearable to watch (too much).
Overall, I'd have to say this is a very likeable anime. If you have a problem with this kind of brother-sister love, watch it anyways, because it's not like they sleep with each other everyday after their parents go to sleep, or anything like that. It's just a story about a brother and sister who's love just crosses the boundary between platonic due to previous events, and their struggle to get the right solution. Reccomended.

| I really enjoy animes that are deep and contain powerful messages. That is why I enjoyed Koi Kaze so much. Incest is a subject matter that most people do not deal with on a day to day basis so it was incredibly refreshing to watch a story so moving about it. For those of you who do not condone incest, homosexuality, etc., or are completely offended by such lifestyles, do not be discouraged into avoiding this anime. Koi Kaze is so much more than a older man loving a younger girl or a brother loving his sister and vice versa -- the story is about how true love will prevail no matter who it is you happen to love. This a well known theme but rarely is it presented in such a way. Definitely watch this.
