| Well... this show is for those too young to even be able to read this review. So for those who can watch Pretty Cure of their own accord, please don't. I twitched everytime something happened, considering everything said was completely predictable. (Only watched it the entire way through cause as soon as I start an anime, I feel entitled to watch the entire thing)
The animation was... blehh.... Mehhh. It was bearable... but not the best thing in the world.
The sound was okay I guess, for this type of genre. The OP was interesting enough for me to watch it a couple times.
The story.... the story was lost for about 30 episodes.... Its like the plot found itself in a dead end and kept on crashing into it numerous times to get past it... only to find another blank wall and a dead end...
To save you the time, the end for every episode in the first half was MARBLE SCREW!!! The end for every episode in the second half of the series was RAINBOW STORM!!! There we go, thats the summary of the entire thing. I was twitching everytime, waiting for the moment that the ridiculously stupid bad guys to figure it out. When they finally did, the heros were lucky enough to do it yet again. I don't know what the lesbian inference was for. Maybe they hoped to drag in teenage boys as an audience? Overall, the entire series had about.... two episodes worth watching. And they were barely worth watching. I regret losing all those hours to stupidity.
The characters were likeable enough despite their faults. They were likeable, but not amazing. Rather, let me use the word bearable again. This series had enough potential in its characters to be bearable. Instead, they didn't even live up to that potential, and is thus condemned by me.
Little to no value in this. Its as thought provoking as Spongebob square pants and less than half as interesting. No true emotions in here and no interesting ideas. Its just.... there.... If you wanna waste half a week away watching this, have fun. (I give it 2 value points by just existing -.-)
Unless you've got nothing to do for an entire week and can't think of anything remotely interesting to do (meaning you're trapped in an asylum with only pretty cure to watch and nothing around you but white nothingness) or are under the age of 10, do not watch this anime.

| Precure is basically your average magical girl show with a small twist: Most of the show is basically a slice of life show with magical girl elements on the side.
Besides the typical exterior, the show is still very well done for the most part except for the times when the animation/budget suffers. But for all the important episodes, the production values hold up well.
The best part of Precure is not some original story or even its sometimes too-mundane slice of life moments. It's the characters in Honoka and Nagisa whom go through all sorts of problems while they're doing so. And though they're archetypes in the form of the tomboy Nagisa or the scientific yet very feminine Honoka, the two are a joy to watch since their personalities clash so much and yet their friendship borders on a romantic relationship.
Again, though it's not something I'd recommend to anyone adverse to magical girl shows, it's a very enjoyable watch to anyone who can tolerate this type of show and be able to enjoy the character interactions within.

| The majority of Pretty Cure's entire plot gets summarized in the first two episodes. You essentially know what will happen from the beginning, leaving no room for suspense or mystery. Well, that is okay considering this is a magical girl anime with pretty colors and nice transformations. So... what makes Pretty Cure such a bore to watch?
First of all, Pretty Cure is very childish. (well most animes of this type are, so this is no exception) The target audience is definitely for younger girls. The way they try to appeal to the more modern age is through some cellphone like talking side kick that have to be taken care of like Tamagatchis with these sidekick cards that can make them sleep, eat, get flu shots, etc. On the topic of this tamagatchi sidekick... its "pouting" face is the ugliest most annoying thing I've seen, yuck.
Second, the romance, friend relationships and school life events are very typical in terms of other animes. The main character is your typical golden haired aggressive sporty girl who turns soft and awkward in front of the guy she likes. The second main character is your typical relatively quiet/silent/introverted black haired girl... polar opposites yet they share something in common. Although there are some nice peak moments and character interactions that make you get goosebumps and some cute scenes... they're not all that emotional (oh well, children's anime what do you expect). At least some of the stuff that happens kind of relate to growing up and human interaction themes that might be a bit educational(?)
Third, the baddies are a joke. Considering how childish this is, I guess it is okay as the baddies rant off long winded chants about the heart of darkness and all that corny stuff. The way they try to make everyday elements of society and the world into these weird evil things are kind of silly. But I guess it provides for a lot of source material that can get repetitive.
There is nothing inherently wrong with Pretty Cure in reference to other children's anime. It is pretty, colorful, and all that stuff that matters to hold the attention of children (all the rainbow colors kind of remind me of powder puff girls) but in general for a more mature audience there's nothing else to admire except the temporary eye candy of the transformation and action scenes. No story development, repetitive elements, no educational elements, lack of any good humor, and static character personalities makes this something unmemorable in the long run. A decent way to waste some time...

| Pretty Cure is the first anime I've saw with intense fighting and violence. Unlike other Magical Girl anime where characters just have to do magic to solve problems, Pretty Cure takes it 1 step further by adding some action.
The quality of this anime is a little disappointing compared to what Toei usually produces.

| Pretty Cure is a light heart anime.
First you got pushy toys as a your average side-kick. Then you got a dual transformation sequence which are longer than usual 1 girl transformation. Then they fight and defeat the monster. Althou the fight scenes are somewhat cool and they add some spinning movement + some martial art instead of just using sword or stick. For a while this is cool, but then it got old as nothing new is happen.
Second is their school life. As much as interesting to see how two strenger become best friend through odd events, their romance life are not processing as much as I hope it would be. I like seeing their cheesy friendship, but don't get the wrong idea, this is not yuri just a regular 'BBF' relationship between them. Beside they got their own boyfriend to deal with. :)
Overall, this is a good for first time magical girl watcher. If you already watch this genre before, then you shouldn't take this seriously.

| If this anime had stopped around episode 26 it would have been good and the storyline would have got a 9/10 for being a pretty decent magical girl anime. The main problem is not knowing when to stop. I know this is an anime aimed at 5-12 year old girls and this is more than enough excuse to continue an anime far past it's sell-by-date, but I thought the continuation of the story seemed to be an excuse for nothing more than continuing merchandise sales, rather than continuing a good story!

| After 26 episodes:
The show started out very promising, and I was expecting a interesting magical girl show. Then the annoying "cute" sidekicks showed up. Ok, I can live with that, I thought. Then the first couple of fights were, well, boreing. I thought, well, they will get more powers and become better fighters, and they will learn some tactics, and the bad guys will get better.
None of that happened. The first fight was the same as the last one, some ineffectual hand to hand fighting, and then MARBLE SCREW! oh well.
You might say: but magical girl anime isn't about the fights. Well, that may be true, but then why is there one every episode? The main characters do not grow or change at all, they just become a bit more upset at the badguys as time goes on.
I suppose for a magical girl anime, it is quite good, but it doesn't rise above.

| First off, I'm biased, so keep that in mind.
This show is a modern mahou shoujo, in some of it's purest form we've seen lately, with one big twist: instead of one transforming girl and mascot, we have two!
With a fairly episodic structure, and episodes often following the usual magical girl pattern, the plot isn't anything too radical, but the show succeeds well at the one thing it should, secondary character development.
Overall this series is a good example of the genere, and though maybe not a classic, is fun and enjoyable to watch.

| Okay, let's get the title straight, it's Futari Wa PuriKwua, or We Are Pretty Cure. It even says Pretty Cure in the Logo.
The premise is that of all other magical girl series, the bad guys want a mystical jewel (7 in this case) and convert the world to evil. The difference comes in the humour, which is rather self-deprecating.
So, it's not original, but it is funny. I cannot wait to see where the story goes.

| This show has some of the most annoying voices ever. The Mipple-Mepple combo is extremely annoying as well as Honoka. This show is like Sailor Moon except not nearly as good. It lacks any charm at all.
The animation is actually quite good. Unusual for mahou shojou.

| This is one of my favorite animes for these reasons: the music is AWESOME, the villians and plot is sooo trite that it becomes totally hilarious, the voices acting is great, all of the animation is very well done and adorable, and I'm just gonna mention the music again because I love the ending theme, it's got kind of a cute drum 'n bass thing going on that is so rare but so awesome.
Must watch!

| Since this series is new, the animation and the details are so superb. The songs are amazingly catchy, and the only problem is the plot. I've seen this type of plot many times. Ooh, the girls have to stop some baddies from stealing the stones from the Garden of Light! Isn't that all the same? However, this series is very funny and very cute. Mepple and Mipple are so awesome, and the title of this series IS called "Futari wa Precure." It's just known as "Pretty Cure" too. They say "Precure", so that's why they assume it.

| Pretty much your typical magical girl anime, but i enjoyed it. The op and ed songs aren't too bad either and the animation is good. I think they are going for a semi-parody of the magical girl catagory, just from some of the things they said, and not to mention the wacky enemies. I also like that they actually fight with martial arts type moves instead of a lame rod or wand like most of this genre.
Gonna hold off on rating the story, but overall i really enjoyed the first ep and am eagerly awaiting the next.

| Horrible OP, horrible ED, the animation is nice, I really hate the music and such. I was getting really pissed off when they did the typical naming deal like "DUAL AURA THINGIE" at least they said their mouths moved on their own, but why? Why name attacks? :P It's really annoying. VERY annoying. About the only thing I liked is that they were actually fighting with their bare hands when they transformed. That was better than smacking them with a rod or something. Anyway, that's all I have to say. This anime is worth a download if you like CCS or something I guess, but it just stressed me out.

| My impression now after watching 10 episodes is there's lack of character development. It feel on the monster of the week routine without much character development, that's such a shame.
I won't give up on it just yet, I'm hoping at some point that the show will get back to what it was on the first episodes.
Anyway, it's enjoyable to watch. Not the best mahou shoujo anime ever but NOT the worse either. Give it a try and see for yourself if you like shoujo anime.
