Heh, Bobobo is one of these shows that should have never left Japan. It concentrates on pure Japanese humor so strongly, that for nearly every single person from overseas it becomes simply incomprehensible. So it's no wonder that Bobobo is trashed everywhere in english speaking society while being immensely popular and loved in Japan itself. Frankly, if you are determined to watch Bobobo there are at least three points you have to pass, otherwise you will probably hate the show. 1. Be able to speak Japanese language. 2. Know a great lot about japanese culture and err.. daily life traditions -_-;;, I'm not even sure if this is possible if you haven't lived in Japan. 3. Have watched at least more than hundred different anime shows. If you don't pass all three then you'll wont get most of the parody jokes and you wont be able to watch more than 6 episodes of Bobobo, since only that much is subtitled. Oh and watching this anime dubbed is no less than retarded, I even found subtitles distracting, I wonder what sick mind even got the idea to dub this show.
Bobobo is certainly not for everyone and I actually encourage most of the people NOT to watch this show. As I've said before, unless you are pure blood otaku and pass my mentioned points you should keep from this show as far away as you can. I myself was actually forced to watch this show by my fellow otakus in Japan, they've persuaded me saying that it was the best anime comedy created so far, and now, I myself do agree with them.

| The first time I watched an episode of this series on TV I kept cringing the whole time because I didn't know something as random and silly as this could be made. But then I saw a few more and I started to "like" it in a sort of way.
The animation is pretty good, not very smoothly animated but good colors and very "imaginative" character designs(ice-cream-face man, jelly man..). Music is not bad either, a mixtture of typical anime muscia and jazzy tones. It attempts to have a sort of plot, with the hero trying to stop an evil empire, but I don't think it works or anybody who watched the series is concentrated or even mildly interested in it, with all the crazy randomness happening on the screen.
So, yes, this series is funny and entertaining, but it might be too random for some. Don't trash away the genre if you don't like this one, and give "FLCL" and "Puni Puni Poemi" a try. Less randomness and more real humor in those ones.

| Compulsive, hyper, and random, this anime tops even the most inconsistent of anime, and that's just what you'd expect from a nose hair wielder with opening and closing hours! Somehow still managing to follow a basic storyline, Bobobo Bobobobo manages to pack just about every genre into itself while borderline maintaining comedy, or is it all comedy in a psuedo-genre switch? I wasn't really following... Well, good for someone who wants something different and likes FLCL or Excel Saga.

| Overview - A guy that can talk to other peoples hair, and also fights the evil hair robbers with his incredibly powerful nose hairs.
I figured it would be funny to review an anime I only watched 1 episode and bash it.
As for animation, I gave it a 2, simply becuase at least its animated.
The story is quite possibly the worst idea I have ever heard. I understand it was made for the purpose of comedy, but, its not funny.
Character, uhh, there is a gumby looking guy made of gelatin or something and a guy with fighting nose hairs. What else is there to say?
When I began episode 1, I figured that this series might acutally be funny. After sitting through about an hour of boring plot and dull jokes, I minimized my Media player only to find only 15 min of the episode had passed. (if time goes fast when you are having fun, then what does this say about this anime?)

| Sometimes awfulness can be delivered to us in concentrated form.
There have been many series this year that have attempted to be bad with a passion (Air Master, Papuwa, Cromartie, Mouse etc etc etc). But few manage to match the sheer, mindless, surreal awfulness of Bobobo.
I think my jaw was sitting on the floor more often than not whilst watching this. The afro! The nosehairs! The jelly man! The pickle! Well, maybe not the pickle....
Initially watching the atrociously bad "digisub", that was released before a proper one was put out, was a marvellously surreal affair, and I'm left in two minds as to whether it improved things or not....
At least, I felt things were a bit of a let-down afterwards. All those lines about Beauty doing tricks and stuff.... I sadly could see it fit into this show. ;)
The original manga was in Shounen Jump. It is amazing what you pick up when you look back at these things. I never really paid much attention to it as it looked pretty weird and, basically, like all the other bizarre, bawdy, throwaway manga comedies. I would never have picked it as being worthy of animation.... But the anime is.... logical.... compared to it.
Believe that if you will.
Yes, Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo is funny. But those responsible will have to pay for this crime with their lives. There are people currently locked in psych wards after viewing it, and they must be AVENGED!!!! ;)
Or something like that.
