If you are old enough to use this site, you are probably too old to be watching Bottle Fairy. I think that this show is the Japanese equivalent of Telly Tubbies or something similar. There is nothing inherently wrong with it, it is just geared for a much younger age group than most anime, and is therefore much simpler and slower.

Possibly because I am somewhat above Telly Tubbie age, I hated this show with a passion. In each episode I was either bored to tears or would cringe in embarrassment that such a big deal could be made over such a simple issue. (Oh no, one of the plants in our garden is wilting! This is the most awful day ever! *Sob*) The only saving grace for this show is that it does a decent job at explaining Japanese Culture. Each episode focuses on a specific month and the major events in that month are explained.

Except for the occasional funny gag or not-so-awful episode, this show is absolute rubbish. If you are over the age of eight, I do not recommend this show.

A cute and funny anime with four fairies learning about Japan and how to be humans. The animation is bright and colorful, and all of the characters are drawn nicely. The intro music is catchy enough, the rest is pretty forgettable. The story of 4 fairies learning how to become human is pretty interesting. **SPOILER** The fact that they actually BECOME human is awesome, but I wish they would have stayed human! Ah well, I heard there was an OVA or something where they finally become human? **END SPOILER** Also, it would have been nice to have a little background as to how sensei-san got these fairies.

The characters are enjoyable enough, you have the typical leader fairy, the tomboy fairy, the girlish fairy and the dimwitted fairy (reminded me of Osaka from Azumanga Daioh). Oboro-chan is one messed up cat though... his facial expression doesn't change the entire series lol. Tama-chan is a bit annoying, but she's cute enough (her voice provided by the famous Momoi Halko). We don't even get to learn much about the attractive college student who only goes by the name of "sensei-san." He could have been developed more.

This isn't much of a series to be valued haha, but it's a good teaching anime! I learned a few things about Japanese culture while watching.

I enjoyed this anime and probably would have enjoyed it more if I knew more of the material Bottle Fairy parodied. This series has nice humor, and the very last episode is hilarious. Its a pity it was the last episode and didn't continue on!

After so many serious and depressing animes I decided to watch a lighter comedy type.
So I chose Bottle Fairy by Hikarinoseki fansubs. But it was a wrong choice. Though the fansubs were good explaining in detail the various cultural references necessary for the viewer to get the humour, I enjoyed slightly only the first 4-5 episodes. Then it turned monotonous and in ep. 10 I stopped watching since I was only torturing myself.
The OP was funny and the characters cute but when the same amount of cuteness is repeated in every episode my braincells start to decrease, so my brain hit the red alert command and forced my finger to hit the Esc button and ignore this piece of crap forever.

There are tons of better comedy animes and I guess I'm certainly not for the light humour but for crude adult humour or black humour.

I appreciate the puns in Bottle Fairy and the play with words but only if it occurs once or twice and not forever.

Animation was simple and cute. Characters were cute and nothing more. In fact everyone was cute. Maybe without realizing it my subconsciousness forces me to ignore also Azumanga Daioh.
After Bottle Fairy I realized it is better to watch 10 good and depressing animes than one lousy comedy. The tramautic effect in the latter case can be quite serious with severe mental disturbances and dangerous aftereffects.

I really like the opening of Bottle Fairy. After the first ten seconds you already know if you can stand the series or not. The song and the little fairies jumping up and down leave you little choice.

Yes, it's sugary alright but there is one redeeming factor (if you hate holes in your teeth) in this and that's the humor of the story. The fairies try to learn about humans and our world and being cute, little, naive fairies have all sorts of misunderstandments of our ways. As we follow how their imagination sees things that are normal to us... well, it's rather amusing. It reminded me a lot of Azumanga Daioh as normality is turned upside down by eh... distinctive personalities.

The fairies themselves have standard personalities: Kururu is the energetic neighbour girl, Chiriri gentle Belldandy type, Sarara the tomboyish girl and Hororo the spaced-out kid. Nothing new or surprising there but they do work because characters need to have clear and strong personalities to make their fantasies fun. We don't get a lot out of their 'master' Sensei-san (what name, I want some girls calling me sensei-san too!) until the last episode and I feel the series would have worked fine without him. The one talking and interacting with fairies is Tama-chan from the neighbourhood who is an aspiring cat-girl, I think. At least all of her mannerism point to that direction. Some might call her annoying, I call her necessary. She works well with the fairies having a bit of an arrogant know-it-all attitude.

The stories are short and fun. The big plot of them trying to become humans is on the background but isn't really developed. It's just something to refer to in every episode and status quo remains. The animation is clear, colorful and cute well-fitting the series itself. It's simply fun to watch. The music... the only thing that sticks to mind (and hard) is the opening song. There may be many opinions about it but I think no one can listen to it more than a few times a row.

Bottle Fairy is a perfect break from violent action, heart-wrenching drama or melancholic dystopies. It isn't laugh-to-dead comedy either but I just started to smile and couldn't stop. It will be nice to watch this again on a rainy depressing day.

It's anime like this that makes me think I'm going to have diabetes before I'm 21. Packed to the brim with saccharine sweetness, Bottle Fairy delivers a heaping helping of sugary goodness... which can be a good or bad thing depending on the kind of anime you like

Bottle Fairy's animation is fairly simplistic and uninspried. Lots of cookie-cutter designs and animation cels do nothing original for it. But the pastel-colored world created is still pretty and fun to look at

The BGM never stands out, but the overly-cute opening song really sticks out. Right off the bat, it lets you know you're about to watch an anime full of the misadventures of insanely cute little fairy girls. The voices follow in suit, bringing in several staples of anime cuteness, including Nana Mizuki and Ai Nonaka as fairies Kururu and Hororo and the poster seiyuu for kawaii voices, Haruko Momoi as the equally unknowledgable Tama-chan.

The story sets itself up for lots of comedy right off the bat, letting us know in the opening song that these fairy girls have come to the human world to become humans themselves. In order to do that, they must learn everything they can from the boy whose desk they live on, whom they call Sensei-san. They set off on various pretend expeditions exploring the wonders of the human world from Sensei-san's desk, providing a cute little look at Japanese culture while being full of puns that can sometimes be downright hilarious.

The characters themselves are as cookie-cutter as they come. Overconfident self-proclaimed "leader" Kururu, sweet and soft-spoken Chiriri, tomboy Sarara, and ditzy Hororo don't even try to hide their anime girl stereotypes one bit, but it still shines through as the characters play off each other in a sort of Azumanga-style comedy routine for the 15-minute run of every episode. So while the characters are very simple, the way they interact is wonderfully done.

Overall, I thought Bottle Fairy was very quick and easy injection of sugar straight into the vein. People who don't mind an unhealthy dose of cuteness in their anime will eat this up, but people who take their anime more seriously will scoff from the first "la la la"s of the opening theme. Still, for those of you open to this kind of anime, it's a nice quick watch that's sure to leave a smile on your face.

Hmmm... very tough to review, since I couldn't sit thorough the entire series. I tried watching the series 4 times and each time, I couldn't get through one episode, which is hard to believe because it is only some 10+ minutes. Fell asleep everytime I would watch this series. There is virtually no story, just some "experiences" thrown together here and there, and some magic effects that never really explains itself. The show is cute, animation is passable, but it fails to keep a person's interest in the long run. I am surprised to see it listed in the top 200.

Bottle Fairy is a lovley Anime that is directed at a young audience. The story is cute and everything else a young child would adore in a story about wishes being made.I'm not a little kid so it's not something I have a great intrest in ,but for kids it is truely a wonderful story filled with hope, dreams and imagination all of which are things I think younger kids can appreaciate.

As the episodes are only 10 minutes long I have to change my normal review critera a little bit. For example, the Animation is rated so high because my main focus in that area was the drawing of the fairies, which for some reason touched me quite often. The songs are also very nice. For short stories, like Bottle Fairy, my perception is quite selective, so my emphasis is lying in the small parts.
There is not really a story in the whole series, but the ideas that are used in the episodes are absolutely adorable.
I learned a lot about several japanese customs, therefore alone this series should be highly praised.
The only setback was the lackluster ending. But whatever, the first episode was quite possible the best single episode I´ve ever seen.

The animation is really cute and adorable. The quality is pretty good too, but the main focus of this anime is the little fairies so they are drawn with more detail than the other characters.

The sounds really matches all the cuteness in this anime. The opening and closing sogns are all cute and childish. Therefore, i thought it was a good match

The story wasn't so creat. Therefore. i gave it an average. I like it because it was cute, but it was more towards younger audience like little children. The would of like it, since it shows the daily life of teenagers like school, falling in love, vacations, etc.

The valuse for me wasn't that high because it was interesting to kill someone from boredom, but not as good to re-watch it over and over. However, if you are a younger person like around or so you would definitly like this anime. I totally recommend it ot the younger audience. It is a really cute anime to watch. The enjoyemen was average because some parts gets a little boring, and the ending was just a big circle

Absolutely beautiful anime ^_^

Targeted at younger audience of all age. It's a heaven for those who are sick of animes with too thick plot twists, violence and bloodshed.

Artwork is beautiful, everything is perfectly drawn and beautifully presented. Show uses brighter color tones, which give it a rather cute feel.

Sound is just awesome! everything from opening theme to voice acting is suiting.

This show is HIGHLY addictive =) It's a bit short with only 13 eps and 10min per episode. But in reality, it helps maintain it's magic.

If you want to watch something that can calm you down and yet make your head go numb (with utter cuteness) watch this one =)

Truly targeted towards the very young age, I would say from 4-9 years old. It is very cute and would definitely attract young girls around this age range.

In light of this, it is very cute. However, there really is no point in watching this because there is no real story line. Wht they do is wear different costumes, portraying various 'humorous' situtations based on a few common Japanese traditions.

I would even go as far to say that it goes to educate little children on various things. Not for the the more mature people, even if they want to escape from the drudges of everyday life. Not interesting at all.

Nice way to learn a bit about Japan. That is, if you are kawaii-proof and don't suffer from 'catchy theme song stuck in your head -itis'. In every bite-size episode, a month is overviewed, and the important days/events in Japanese culture (for instance, golden week) are explained in a very easy, humorous way. The group i got my subs from also put some extra info on the top of the screen to explain the dubble meaning of some words, which was very helpful.
The last episode was just filler though.
But this is not a 'must-watch' show. I finished downloading the series last summer, and i just finished watching them, that says enough.

If you are tired of convoluted plots involving love hexagons, dark pasts, and the fate of mankind? Do you yearn for the days when characters were easy to understand and color-coded according to personality? Do you just want to kick back for 12 minutes and refresh your weary eyes? Then get yourself a Bottle Fairy.
This one’s full of ka-wa-ii. If im juz a little younger and wanna learn sum Japanese thingy, itll top up a gradeschoolers etv English subj. too bad I wasn’t. *craves for more*

A pointless little anime. Lacking a good story line, this one is nonetheless very funny, and have good characters, though there could be more of them... Also, this one is ultra-kawai, and is mainly targeted at children. So if you usually don't like this kind of show, don't even bother.
A good point though, is that there are things to learn about the japanese every day life !

Bottle Fairy...one of the best kawaii! shows of the year 2003. Very koge donboish, but subtle and unique at the same time.

Animation: Well it`s from Xebec, so of course the animation must be above decent. Characters move, running animation isn`t choppy, and reused cels are used sparingly. I liked how each of the fairies had their own little quirks and looks, and I also liked the bright and cheery colors used througout the anime.

Sound: The OP song is sung by four of the most famous seiyuus of Japan, so of course it must be good. The BGMs are also beautiful, each befitting to the atmosphere the anime`s portraying. The last two eps were the most emotional, and the orchestrals played in the background amplified the scene to the point I was almost in tears. Very powerful and gripping.

Story: There isn`t much of a story, just 4 bottle fairies living in the human world and learning the ins and outs of Japanese culture. This anime offers a nice glimpse of what the Japanese does each month of the year, so you can actually LEARN something from watching this anime!

Character: The strongest part of the anime. Each of the six characters offer great development and drama. Hororo, Chiriri, Sarara, and Kururu all of their individual quirks that makes them even more kawaii then ever. I liked how they seemed to act out everything through a childs eyes, and I liked the way the anime fleshed out each of the characters. (like Hororo as the slow dumb one, Sarara as the warlike one, Kururu as the leader, and Chiriri as the emotional one). Nicely done.

Value: Bottle Fairy was a nice short series dealing with very human things, such as their culture and lives built around friendships and the sadness of parting. The last two episodes was an emotional roller coaster, and had me in tears towards the ending.

Enjoyment: Since I really liked kawaii man-shojo shows, this didn`t disappoint. Watch this and get a warm and fuzzy feeling inside. It`s sure to cheer you up.

Hororo was the best! Become humans!

Well, a bunch of fairies trying to be human. Now that a reverse plot. Usually people are train to be angel or trainy-angel try to become a better angel. Each character come with a differnt personality. This is all used up in other series a millions times, but it still cute when it come to 5 inc" angel ^^ Not much of the story in the series. Plot build up on the child fantasy with all the fan-services it could get. I don't know if it just me, but when it come to backgroud, they do some dots things, which annoys me a couple time. Nothing worth seeing except the last ep. when they transform to be a 1 human girl with 4 fairies mind inside.

Cute, fun, free-cares, and comedy kinda thing. Watch it if you have some free time or else just pretend this series never exist.

HAHAHA! Never before since Azumanga Daioh came into the anime scene have i laughed so much.

Bottle Fairy shines with its charm, cuteness and its comedy, very cute and hypnotic at times, you will find it hard not to look at them. Jokes are plentiful and pretty well timed, with the dash of good characters here and there (Hororo and Kururu were decent)its a pretty good fun series

However, that is what this series is all about, being fun and cute. Throw the story out the window and hope everyone will like it. Of course, this anime may be too cutesy and not serious enoguh for most people but Bottle Fairy is too cute/funny to be ignored.
One other thing, the jokes are very japanese based, though the fansubber's notes are useful it doesn't have a great effect for most westerner people. Also, onyl a small handful ofBottle Fairy episodes are genuinely not funny but overall, it is one damn cute series!

Overall: 8/10
Grade: B+

Story? What story? Bottle Fairy doesn't even pretend to have one and aims straight for the jugular; little fairies with liquid eyes who serve absolutely no purpose but to sit and look cute. Most likely to be compared to Azumanga Daioh; what with its similar format of short skits stitched together into an episode, Bottle Fairy never fails to entertain even right up to the last minute.

Wow, this is one of the cutest anime ever! A really enjoyable series as long as you are not expecting much on the storyline. Each short 10 min episode consists of the little fairies discovering what a Japanese does on different days with comical results. Even though it explains Japanese culture, with those four little fairies, it makes the episodes very easy to watch.

Animation is very cute, and the seiyuu just makes those little fairies extra adorable!

Highly recommend for the people who likes "kawaii" stuff!
