| Wow what can I say? After withdrawal from anime over a year I accidentially found this anime by the japanese name. Me not knowing what it was and having plenty of spare time on my hands, I decided to watch an episode. When I saw the futuristic beginning I was immediately turned off, and almost quit within the first minutes but luckily I kept watching.
This anime is not just for kids. It contains some violence and blood that may be shocking for some kids. It has a very deep meaning and background to it. I recommend this for anyone. I just miss the characters already. When I was almost half done I felt bad that it only lasted 52 episodes. The ending was rushed, it was like they were short on time both in the anime and in real life. But what can I say, I shed a tear and laughed with the characters. I really recommend this anime!

| I haven't finished this anime yet but I am on episode 24, still watching and I'm hooked. First few episodes were really slow and I was thinking "Oh man this looks like a kid show" especially with that pink thing Chako. Everything starts off all futuristic and stuff but then something goes wrong on a school trip and a bunch of kids get stuck on their emergency space ship in a storm and left behind while their main ship teleports. They are sent to a unknown planet with various creatures and face a problem of survival. The series is pretty similar to the tv series of LOST or lord of the flies, the only difference is their stuck on a planet that isn't inhabited with humans.
Animation: The animation isn't the best I've ever seen but good enough, it's the typical anime animation and it fits it well. Backgrounds are drawn well but I wouldn't say the animation is it's strong point.
Music: The music fits the series very well, I love the opening scene and the various background music. Strong point here.
Story: The storys very original for anime, it's one thing being lost on an island in the middle of an ocean but these guys are lost on a planet that no one has heard of and have little chance of getting a SOS signal out. Storys one of the best I've seen and unique.
Character: Character development is strong, certain episodes take time to show who a character is and you feel connected with them.
Value: I'd definitely watch this over again, I haven't stumbled accross an episode thats been boring yet
Enjoyment: Very good series, I'm simply hooked and will continue watching this. I haven't been bored yet. As soon as I'm done i'll be sure to burn this to a dvd for my cousin I'm sure she'll like this as well.
Don't be fooled by the "kid friendly" drawings and the cute pink chako. The series focuses on real life aspects and I'd recommend it to everyone kids and adults.

| One of the main reasons I signed up for this site after having been using it for so long was to review this anime, which so sadly gets so little attention (at this time a mere 33 reviews not counting myself...) So few I mention it to never heard of it, ignored it because it seems to be a children's anime (and it technically is, but, there's nothing childish about it, it's just child-safe in that it's ok for children to watch and may even teach them a thing or two.) Worse, some started it, but, didn't get very far. This show is not afraid to take it's time on the story and introduce things slowly. It does not aim to be a fast-paced anime (though there are times you will probably be on the edge of your seat) but develops slowly and very thoroughly with few things left out I thought.
Please don't judge by the numbers, I think this anime has a certain quality about it that can't be quantized so easily, so even though I've given some anime I didn't like as much higher numbers, this is among my all time favorites.

| Uninhabited Planet Survive is a charming, if unrealistic, kids show about a group of school children trapped on an uninhabited planet. Those pulled in by its innocent charms are guaranteed to love the show, despite its considerable flaws.
At its best Survive has a wonderful and highly original plot which focuses on the interactions between the characters as they struggle to overcome the challenge presented before them. This allows for some good, but not exceptional, character development that can make the viewer forgive the otherwise cliched nature of these same characters.
At its worst Survive is highly predictable and suffers from far too many plot holes. The characters can become irritating cliches and the anime's themes of friendship and environmentalism can become overbearring. Yet somehow the show retains its charm during these times never once ceasing to be engaging and enjoyable.
Most of the time though, Survive is neither of these extremes. The plot has many twists and turns, many predictable, many unpredictable. Plot holes and unanswered questions never quite go away, just as the show's themes remain in the background, never out of sight. The characters whilst predictable and cliched steadily evolve and grow for the better. The animation and sound remain solid and unspectacular and the anime overall, despite its flaws is a reasonably good children's anime which adults will most probably enjoy too.

| Mujin Wakusei Survive is one of the best series I've seen. It's kinda "Two Years Holiday" in future. A bunch of kids on an uninhabited planet. Sounds interesting, right? Well, several things are a little bit unrealistic, they may even insult your intelligence, but it really doesn't matter because the story is very interesting and heartwarming. You will watch this holding your breath and always wanting to see next episode immediately. Definitely a must!

| Think of it similar to “Gilligan’s Island” and “Jurassic Park” all blended into a “Saturday morning cartoon” felt-like storyline that gets you irritated with its almost less than average animation. The characters who were stranded couldn’t have been more clichéd than it already was. With a caring and heartfelt main character, the uptight and strong-leadership girl too, the millionaire spoiled and arrogant blond that complains, and the scarred little girl goes that always nice, the strong and moving for being affectionate guy, the professor-intelligential boy and the merry-personality cat and; here on “Uninhabited Planet Survival”. Yes, it sounds familiar somewhere. Maybe it’s just my imagination. I think I’ll just leave it at that, rather saying anything else that had exposed itself for being too faulty that I‘ve missed. The suspenseful and dangers that they were facing, whether it was the fire in the beginning or with the creatures later on was the only reason of making this entertaining. Although there were some things in this one had made it worthwhile, I expected a lot more from a series that was involving into an adventure. Watch this, and you may or may not like it.

| For some reason, this anime wasn't very appealing to me. It started out as a regular island survival thing with all its drama that would happen amongst people. This part was boring at times.
Then it came to some weird thing with a different species that lived on the planet before them and it becomes find the technology story..
Then random people land on their island, and it becomes a catch the bd guy type thing.
Then some ship adventure to a really random place that one would never imagine could happen from the first half.... its just so crazy.
Just the way things happen makes everything so hazy and so undefined. THere doesn't seem to be some strong story line, just a bunch of random things happening with no real direction.
The main character is quite nice in terms of both drawing/looks and strong personality, but the supporting cast kind of are stupid and since the characters aren't that great as a whole, this anime isn't very impressive at all. Sure, at the end they've all really changed but it was annoying to watch since many of the characters just make you go "ARGH."
(Howard makes me hate this anime, this type of personality, I really cannot ever stand. )
A winding story line with a weak character backbone. Not much in terms of interest, not until towards the end ; 30+ and for this , I think it is kind of pointless to watch so much just for a little bit of entertainment.
The most disappointing thing is that, If I were in that situation and the same things happened to me, I'm sure it would be really impacting. Basically, this could be really good, in terms of its impact on the viewer. Just not made well enough to carry this adventure/friendship theme .
Note: it may not be realistic, but that's not the point of this anime otherwise i'd have a lot more to pick at. however, it just does a bad job at the other things that including 'realness' isn't something that can help it anyway.

| This is one of those series that don't make a great impression in the beginning, but before you know it, you'll be totally glued to the screen, thinking - how came it's not in the top 50?
Yes, you can call it a simple sci-fi adventure for kids. However, I think anyone, both adults and kids will have lots of fun while watching this.
Personally, I never judge any anime for technical quality as long as the story makes you care about the characters.
In this case, both sound and animation are simple but effective. I'm giving here higher rating simply because I feel this anime deserves recognition.
Character development and the story itself are very strong points of this show.
To sum it up - great anime, probably never will become classic, but please give it a try - I am sure you won't regret it.

| This anime is one of those that invoke that warm fuzzy feeling when you feel good about life. And thats exactly what this series is all about: life. The adventure begins when schoolkids get marooned in an unknown planet with an unknown habitat. Here they are faced with countless difficulties and hardships which they overcome with teamwork, and a lot of self sacrifice. The characters are all very likeable especially Luna whose vitality and kindness you can't help but admire.
I admit that the characters may be cliched and that it does have a shaky start, the series maintains its good atmosphere throughout. I liked how the creators chose to use the message and potray that in such a positive way. This series is good for people of all ages with good life lessons. I'd recemmond this as the perfect family watch.

| Heart-warming, top-notch quality entertainment!
Although it might seem a bit too childish at first, don't let that impression fool you! After the first 4-5 episodes this amazing adventure will start to unfold. And you'll be glued to your screen for the days to come ...
This anime would almost deserve a perfect score from a quality point of view. You can see that a lot of love and hard work went into the making. Everything feels right and well done. Animation is very straightforward though, but it still works wonderfully well just because of its detailed and vivid environments.
The story and characters are really the strongest points. Very touching at moments, funny at others. Almost shed a few tears during some eps, it really gets you!
Overall, you can't afford to miss this masterpiece... go for it!
(PS. Why does this anime only has 47 reviews? It's highly underrated and really belongs in the top 50 at least ...)

| Exceptional anime!
A very light-hearted look at quite a number of interesting topics, Uninhabited Planet Survive [Survive, NOT Survival... AnimeNFO needs to change this] is a heart-warming story with plenty of emotion and enough depth to have kept me interested.
Very highly recommended for most people.

| When something catches me from out of nowhere I tend to pay attention as those kinds of shows often turn out to be the most fun to watch. When this first started being fansubbed I totaly blew it off thinking it was going to be some kind of anime form of that lame reality-tv show Survivor, untill a few weeks ago I started getting interested in it, and I'm very glad I did. A really awesome story full of adventure with the characters using their heads to solve problems using only the natural resouces that are available on the island. The characters in the story are diverce, each of them have their own strengths and weaknesess, their own personalities, etc. From the moment they land on the deserted planet to the end of the series they all grow and come to rely on eachother as their frendship helps them through many of the problems they'll encounter. There's zero fanservice in the series anywhere, but the characters stay charming and you wont be able to wait to see what they do next.
I was really pleased with how the story rounded out and thought it had a good ending considering that the last few eps seemed somewhat rushed. Awesome series that I may have never ended up watching had it not sparked some interest out of the blue. Very worthwhile to see.

| This was defenitaly a HUGE surprise for me. When I initially read about the permise, I thought that it would be good to watch this anime between main courses. however, it turned out that this is not only better, but also something that I will remember for a long time to come, which rarely happens to me.
animation: I thought that the animation managed to capture the spirit of the series. While it has simplistic design, it has a very warm and fuzzy feeling to it. for me, this means that the animation was done from the heart, and that is reason enough to acknowledge it as superb.
Sound: it is one of the best aspects of the show, mainly in the music; it is just very memorable and beautiful to listen to, not to mention fitting. while voice acting could've been more engrossing, it still stands out very high. there are some moments where it transfers the emotions to the viewr brilliantly.
Story might seem typical stuck on island/planet first, but it has been re-invented here. all the events follow smoothly and the story almost never depart from its original message and goal. and really, i believe that this anime is for kids AND adults alike, because it has some deep ideas about friendship and some very important meanings that can easily mark its existance in your daily life.
Characters are very diverse and, while stereotypical at first, grow into very deep and complex beings with real emotions. still, i can't say its the most realistic considering the simplicity of some of that, but that is very much needed to connect the kids as well to the characters. eventually, i found myself caring about every single character and that is one of the main reasons i watch anime, to connect to the characters and then learn from thier experiences.
Even though some of the points that the reviewer WireSpot mentioned are true, i still believe that this anime managed to balance itself to appeal to all people of all ages, which is something remarkable. Eventually, I enjoyed this anime more than enjoying some of the supposedly main courses!!

| Overall a fun anime that I enjoyed watching, but not exactly a classic. This story of a group of children (and one 'animal') who get stranded on a deserted planet who have to fend for themselves. Instead of going at it Lord of the Flies style, the show instead goes for a more 'Swiss Family Robinson' way of telling the story.
This anime is obviously directed at children, although it can be enjoyable for adults too even if it is highly predictable. I would highly recommend this for children, and it would be acceptable for teens and adults who just want some lighter fare. Do not expect an overly complex storyline or characters, but just a kindhearted story about friendship and growing up.
See Wirespot's review below for a lot more points which I largely agree with.

| This is defintely a show for kids as far as I'm concerned. It will make a good watch for anybody under 14, but it will be a bit of a stretch for somebody older than that.
OK, the story is original, for anime, that is; otherwise, the whole "random group of people stranded on an island" is quite often encountered in all kinds of movies and series.
The characters and their development is perhaps the strong point of this series. Their reaction to their situation, the way they react to each other, the way they adapt and change is pretty good.
The imagination of the screenwriters is also nicely put to work. This is not just a Robinson story, it's a SciFi story which mixes with strange and fantastic situation, interesting animals and plants and catchy situations.
Sadly, from a practical situation the story lets you down, which is why I said it would only be suited for kids. If you've ever spent time on camping trips or hiking or even only saw good movies on the subject of having to survive in the wilderness, you'll quickly notice the weak points in the story:
1) They always look perfect. All the characters started out with only a change of clothes on their backs, intended for a one-day trip, yet they manage to keep in tip-top shape, clean and neat, throughout the series. No shoes giving them a hard time, no clothes being too skimpy (the girls are wearing short skirts for God's sake), nobody's getting dirty except for short periods of time just to prove a point in the plot, then they magically reappear perfectly clean. I accept that they washed themselves in the sea or the lake, but you try washing clothes by hand with only water and then tell me what came out of it. Their hair is another givaway, which is ironical; in the first episode Luna has a hard time fixing her hair for school, yet living in the wild for months it keeps looking neat and doesn't even grow or anything. Finally, the whole personal hygiene thing is carefully avoided: nobody's breath stinks, nobody needs to take a dump or a leak, no B.O. issues either. Man, if living in the wild was this perfect we'd all be doing it.
2) The animals are depicted rather silly. There seems to be only one specimen around of the main important species. And the way they treat them is also silly. I was horrified of the silliness of the episode when they tried to kill the giant lizard; I still wonder what the hell did they think they accomplished by throwing it into the water. Trying to drown it, perhaps? Well what do you know, it could swim. Who would have guessed. Oh, and you gotta love how the big elephant-like animal only makes the ground shake when they don't know what it is; as soon as they become friendly with it it walks around as smooth as a cat. I'm thinking it was stomping its feet to make itself seem important.
3) Somehow, things seem to always come their way. It's a shame, really, because they started off well. When they first tried to build a house it was reasonably hard, as you'd expect. Yet suddenly they manage to get a break and from then on they suddenly don't have a worry in the world as far as tools and living implements are regarded. I for one don't see how you can fix wooden planks against a smooth metal sheet with your bare hands, nor how they managed to obtain perfect wooden planks in the first place with only two small hand-saws. A fellow reviewer mentioned a common pitfall of Robinson stories, how they end up with a gorgeous house that seems made by professional architects; sorry to dissapoint you but after a reasonable start, they do it here too.
So from the practical point of view you may feel that this story insults your inteligence. If you manage to look past that and appreciate the characters and the fantastic development, you'll probably like this series just fine.

| I watched the entire series, and I found myself caring for the characters, even some of the more annoying ones.
The intro and ending tracks were enjoyable. The voices were perfect for each character. The only thing that I thought wierd was the howling elephant, "Pague".
Animation was simple but effective in telling the story of a bunch of 14 year old kids stranded on a planet. I really liked the slow pace. It made me appreciate the type of environment they had to survive in. I also liked the fact that there weren't any easy solutions.
My only gripe would be the over use of "cliff-hangers". And I don't mean ending an episode in midst of suspense, but actual redundant use of cliff-hangers to build trust amongst the kids.
Apart from that, the character development was top notch, not too drastic to be sappy, but enough for you to start liking them.
Really enjoyed this series and would recommend it to children and adults. There isn't enough Hentai and blood for teens :P

| Great anime.
Great Characters.
Great story
SURVIVE is a touching dramatic story about 7 kids and their bond of friendship and survival. Watch it. It's beyond good. Every characters stick in the audience's mind, and the story touches on deep issues such as environmentailism, aliens, emotions, and the will to live. Can't believe it's actually a kids show.

| Ever since Kaleido Star have I been so addicted in an anime. This is a truly underrated anime that is at times funny, other times dramatic, and sometimes poignant, but all parts just superb. Japanese kids are really lucky to be getting such quality educational programming, while here in the states we`re stuck with a sponge in square underwear. *sigh...so...
Animation: Very very subtle. I really liked the minimalist approach. There wasn`t any snazzy effects, no big explosions, and barely any CG. The backgrounds are lush and detailed, considering how many different settings SURVIVE takes place in. The character designs are also very simple, and they are an effective way to convey emotions. Running animation was smooth and people blinked, and the spaceships, habitats, tools, stars, space, just everything was done beautifully. Superb.
Sound: The opening song was nominated in one of those Best Anime Song CDs, and rightfully so. The opening gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling inside, and the song is perfect for SURVIVE. I was also very surprised at how every scene in the opening was justified in the anime. There was only one opening though, so that was a bit of a letdown in such a long series. The BGMs made up for the lack of a second opening, perfectly fitting in the wide range of emotions presented in SURVIVE. Violin solos, piano chords, and the sound effects of the spaceships, tools, water, etc. were also done superbly.
Story: This is where SURVIVE shines. The story is brilliant, suspenseful, and well-developed. I was awed by all the plot twists, all the sub-characters, and how great the anime twisted and turned to explain everything. SURVIVE begins with a Lord of the Flies type of story, with a bunch of adolescent kids learning about survival. The survival episodes were ingenious. I can list so many examples of how the kids used their knowledge of the future to make the uninhabited planet habitable, but that will just spoil part of the story. The plot takes a dramatic turn halfway through and then the plot plays a lot like Stellvia of the Universe or that book A Wrinkle in Time. It`s all just great stuff.
Character: Although a bit cliched, the characters in SURVIVE are well-rounded and fleshed out. By the end of the series, I can feel for all the characters. Being a kids show, there really wasn`t a character I hate. The voice actors all play their roles perfectly, with the exception of Sharla. Lordy I can`t stand her voice. Whatever. Kaoru is the quiet one, Bell is tough on the outside but weak on the inside, Howard is the rich bastard, Shingo is the genius kid, Menori is the natural leader, Chako is the robotic cat, Sharla is the weak one that turns strong, Adam is the alien, and Luna is the hero of this adventure. Luna`s given too much power, but SURVIVE instills a lot of emotional power and drama in these characters, and there were a few parts where I can`t help but shed a tear.
Value: Uninhabited Planet SURVIVE is worth your time. This is a very educational show with many deep morals like environmentalism, friendship, trust, and most importantly, the will to live.
Enjoyment: This has become one of my top animes. I really enjoyed every moment of this. No one can really not like this anime unless they are tards who can`t even sustain the thought of watching something mundane. Gundam otakus might not like this, but other than those, SURVIVE is a very beautiful ride. Even the title holds special meaning.

| This is one that surprised me. After having seen such cutting edge animation like Gungrave, One Piece and Berserk this one is 2D but 2D that serves the purpose of the story. You see no blood nor guns around here, you see brains and children using their wits to survival on planet that looks like Earth.
In the first 6 or 7 episodes they build character background so you become familiar with character motives and why they are like they are. My favorites so far is Luna and Adam. One of my favorite I-didn't-know-I'd-like-it animes so far.
