| This was surprisingly good. Not the MOST interesting thing to see, but nevertheless a good story to tell..It was especially good how they were able to tell two seemingly unrelated stories and manage to connect them somehow at the end. The whole "what's it like to be an adult and on your own" thing gave a lot of dramatic sense into it, and the story took somewhat of an unexpected turn - instead of focusing on the whole war of "whoever" with the other "whoever�, they chose to focus on the 13yo girl and her life, which they've handled pretty well. The BGM is really good in here and so is the VA. Animation is pretty much average for it's year, and character are very intriguing, even characters that seemed trivial to the plot. Very nice. This would have some value if a TV show would come out or something else to continue it (or tell what happened before)

| Great Anime,thougt is very short,they can do an T.V Sequel, in minium 13 episodes to tell the storyline better
The concept of parallel worlds is anything but new and has been used many times. In Munto it is realised in a short OVA which poses its own problems as there is not much time to develop story or characters.
Great,but Short, Action scenes.
Munto is a very interesting OVA with a strong storyline (with some gaps and jumps but to be expected with such a short running time) and excellent artwork.

| I have heard there is a second OVA series planned, so this OVA has done it's job. It was a good ride even though it left alot of questions. but that was by design.
Excellant animation, some good possibity of good characters, some great drama, which could be far better once you learn the worlds and the characters involved better.
In sort, a very good exploratory OVA. I hope the real series, if what I have heard is true, will live up to the promise.

| well, it's a 1 episode OVA so I didn't really expect much of a story, as usual in these things we kinda get an introduction to a world without really getting the full explanation. If you can't live with that skip this...
Animation was very nice, sound was ok but could be better. The story, we get a sketch of what appears to be a very complex world where different factions are present. We got apparently several faction in heaven, we also have the human world which is completely unaware of it all and there is a devil suggesting there has to some kinda hell too. Basically we get trown in at a very crucial point in this worlds history. The story is dealt with quickly (as can be expected) but ain't dissapointing at all since they did take their time to put in bit of character development for a few chars. Too bad we didn't have time to really get to know these characters; The awesome cool devil makes this anime score a few extra points.
A very nice setting with some cool charcters but oh so short (i heard there will be a sequel), I still recommend you go watch it since it's not so long and worthy of your time

| To all the ones who don't get this OVA: I think when watching OVA's it's important to keep in mind their purpose, which is to introduce an anime concept & story to viewers and big media houses, in the hopes that it will get a good response and get bought and made into a TV series. Since anime is super expensive to make, noone can afford to make more than a few eps except Mr Big Corp. So of course they're too short to tell a real story, and they just summarize the concepts quickly. Every 10 seconds of anime probably costs a grand, and there's usually a small group of not very rich people funding the thing out of their pockets.
That said, for an OVA, I thought this was excellent. The concept is good, fairly complex, on par with something like Fushigi Yuugi. It's pretty difficult to cover a complex concept, plot and characters in a 1 OVA, so they were barely able to touch on most of the ideas (thus all the bad reviews by the usual insta-grat addicted shallow people who don't understand or appreciate how things work because they don't think things through). If it gets made into a TV series, I will definitely watch it. To do a complex concept like this justice, it needs to be at least a 52 ep series. I hope they bite the bullet, have faith, and do it, instead of making the usual 26 ep series, or the usually disasterous 13 ep series.

| Really, I don't know what is the point of doing these one episode OVAs. They should make a decent movie or a TV series instead. At the beginning we see some fighting, some strong fellows etc. But I couldn't understand who they were and why were they fighting. Everything seems like a big mess.
Only redeeming factor is the girl, Suzume, who is so much like Osaka from Azumanga Daioh, that it's scary. Plus points from that.

| Animation? At best mediocre. The lines were simply drawn, even kids can do better artworks than this. There're virtually no background sounds at all, not even opening /ending vocals.
As everyone has mentioned, there's not enough time to cram in the storyline, as a result, there're very few chances of character developments, and the storyline is only loosely tied together, and somewhat boring. Having two stories in one short OVA is a total disaster. The concepts are there, but the story is not.
Please don't waste your time on this.

The animation is awesome, rendering of sceneries are also good, specially the "striking after the rainy day", that was awesome.(^_^)also the magical kingdom.
I dont mind that they focused on Yumemi, after all, she is the girl of destiny and her help is needed by Munto to save he's kingdom.
The story and characters have plenty of potential if this OVA is going to be a TV series I would definitely watch it, specially to see yumemi & Munto...(^_^).I hope it will be a TV series..

| This OVA had great animation and some pretty sweet characters (i.e. Gas). I would definately watch a series following this story line. The problem for me was that they focused on the little kids and their lives too much. They should have stayed in the other reality for more of the show.
But, I'd recommend this...as would my sister. She fell in love with Suzume, and I want to see Gas kick more ass.

| Munto is a well-animated OVA with some very interesting concepts. Many reviewers complained that the story is too short for adequate character development. I actually like the fuzzy come-and-gone atmosphere Munto leaves behind; as if I have stepped into the characters' lives for a brief moment, then brought with me their silent message upon my departure. In my opinion, the story of Yumemi and the Heavens is more of a sales weapon; the director's ideas are expressed more successfully by Kazuya and Suzume. If Yoshiji has better credentials and more guts, Munto could have been a very memorable OVA. But hey, not everyone's a big shot like Miyazaki.

| Yumemi, I like that name. =) I wonder why she was named that though. A coincediance? Anyways, this could have been longer, I was dissappointed that it ended so quickly, 50 or so minutes.
The story was excellent! I liked the way they tell the story, too, as it was interesting way to do it. There were many spots to be filled in and the characters could use a little more developement. They developed Suzume quite a bit but she was just filler. I wished this time was used for the main story instead, although, it was VERY interesting side story for Suzume.
The animation was good, but it seemed rushed. I wish there was more sound/music in the anime. It definately would set a better mood.
The title of the OVA should definately be changed. Because of it, I was waiting for Munto to do something. I was dissapointed in what he does. Still, the show is very enjoyable.

| Well, this is a short one. Though only 52 min long it contains a lot of story, and that is a story that is really good. It also contains some action and a side-story of love.

| Pretty good story, animation very nice donde, some chars are real nice, but some need more development, I had a good time watching this anime, and it's only one 50'm OVA, so it's really worth it.
Contradictory to other reviewers, I didn't mind the story focusing on "Yasumi" (the girl) instead of Munto ot the Magic Kingdom, from my point of view, centering on the seconds wold have made it an action anime and chars would be even less developed they actually are.

| ok first of all, the animation is gorgeous. i loved the look of it.
but, since it was crammed into a 50 min. OVA, there was no room for story and character development. sum things were rushed through, and not enough background was given.
plus, it didn't help that there was like no music at all.
there was plenty of potential for this, but it didn't quite take that extra leap.

| Right off the bat, through the end, Munto is a gorgeous show. Some great use of color combined with neat designs make it some sweet, sweet eyecandy.
Now I can't say that it has a poor story, my personal feeling though (and I see a lot of people would agree), they had the wrong focus. They concentrated on the lead girl instead of the events in the Magical Kingdom. Now, as you can tell from the reviews, there are some amazing sequences during the magic battles. Certainly, they wasted a lot of potential on an ordinary schoolgirl, but hey, that's their right. It would have been interesting to see this as an entire movie, with fleshed out characters and more fights. That being said, Munto does a good job of fitting a fair amount of stuff in 52 minutes.
One other comment about the show: the title. Munto is indeed a character, but despite the fact he should be THE central character, he actually gets little face time. Anyways, not a big deal, but it's just not a good title for it.
Give it a go. Munto is a solid show.

| i wasn't expecting much when i picked this up, but i was pleasantly surprised. the artwork was exceptional and the story has some potential. the soundtrack was kind of sparse, but that contributed to the experience in a way. (or maybe it's just me). the characters were fleshed out well despite the length of the show. this OVA would have been much better if it lasted longer than 50 minutes.

| The show was good, maybe alittle below average, and thats because of one thing. It was to short, and didnt make much since. There is a huge something missing there, this show would of been better as a movie, or a 3+ length OVA, maybe even a 1 season anime series. Oh well worth the 50min watch, fills some space in your life, just dont go out of your way to get this one.

| An enjoyable OVA.
The animation is nicely done, nothing spectacular though. I liked the story; eventhough it's not very deep and complex, it has something special to it.
As an OVA, it's hard to develop the characters, but still, there were quite a few of them that I liked. They don't look very orginal (blonde schoolgirl in uniform, spikey haired magical guy, etc.), but some of them seem to grow on you anyway.
The story becomes more interesting after the first half, and so does the animation.
I'd suggest to watch it and judge for yourself. It's not a waste of time at all; well worth it, however don't expect too much.

| Ok,.... This ova didn't have that much of a sence to it, you see heaven then one day some guy just appear in a blast and ask for you to lend your power for him?!?
On another thought, it was pretty impresive for 50 min. ova to much this much of a deep story lie with in. Nicely done with a short ova :)

| The visuals on this one were very impressive. Soft, lively, and vibrant. However, that was pretty much it. The story bears little theme, has a rushed, unexplained storyline, and in fact the subplot of Kazuya and Susume was even more meaningful than the entire division of the world and the heavens. Either this show needed a 6 part OAV, a 13 episodes series, or removal of the apocalyptic storyline above the earth altogehter. It would've made more sense if none of that existed.
