| This title is based on the 27 volume manga of awarded artist Hirokane Kenshi. If the anime is that good I'm eager to read the manga, even if it is only 1 volume.
One of the most original animes regarding characters. Forget the stereotypical ones you see in everyday's anime. Animated realism at its best.
We have 13 individual stories and I have to say all of them were perfect, keeping the interest till the end.
An anime that delves into the deepest of human psyche in a level very few animes reached so far.
Of course dont expect that because of that realism all stories should be tear-jerkers. On the opposite each characters is sounding natural and I was left wondering how they managed to achieve such great characters.
If you like anime mainly for the characters this anime is a must-watch, as the characters here couldnt have been better. One of the best ignored titles I had the chance to watch. Shouldnt be missed.
Too bad that animation lacks a little but that is a minor flaw compared to this masterpiece.
Though since it is not well known, only experienced anime viewers will probably have heard of it.

| No need for me to echo what the previous reviewers said so I'll give a little background info. I've only watched the 6th story but I've known the late 80's manga which it is derived from.
A little explanation of the title and the concept can be found here:

By today's standards and tastes Ninhen Kousaten certainly stays below the radar, which might explain its low popularity and slow release in the fansub world.
Try it if you can find it, you might end up learning something valuable about life.

| This anime brings us back to where the important things truely lie. Not in scadily clad girls (althou it is quite enjoyable), not in fighting mechas, not in alternate universes but in human life. The relationships and interactions between people (and i dont mean one guy with many girls). It takes the viewer through a journey where he/she/it can witness the growth of the character in terms of maturity and confronts his fears, misconceptions and misunderstandings. The dialogue is written so that you hear the thoughts of the character which allows the viewer to better understand the emotions and feelings that the character is going through which in turn draws our attention to the events protrayed and in the end, gives us greater satisfication because you will actually feel exactly what the character is feeling. Fulfillment, joy, happiness. Mind you all this is based on the first episode where each episode is a standalone. Definitely a must see for all those that have grown kind of partial to semi-nude women with big breasts and huge hips because this story is all about story, story and more story. Enjoy.

| First thing to do is, ignore the synopsis. It's only applicable to the first episode. The episodes are all standalone stories, with nothing to do with each other. However, they are all very well done. The animation and sound aren't anything memorable at all, but it's simply an enjoyable series of short stories on "the human condition" or easily relatable situations in life. Something corny like that. But it's good anyway.

| In the midst of fantasy action, magical girls, and post-apocalyptic worlds that line the anime roster, Human Scramble takes us back to the basics - everyday life in a very ordinary world. Each self-contained episode (only two are fansubbed so far) examines a slice of reality - one human's anguish - leading the viewers through a brief, uplifting journey to show us in the end that, yes, the world can still be a beautiful place.
A refreshing respite from the violence, cynicism, and darkness that characterise a good number of anime (and real world news items, for that matter), Human Scramble is hopeful, even with its feet planted firmly on the ground.

| I usually don't review anime after just one ep, but each episode in this series is self-contained. The feel of this anime is very much like contemporary asian dramas, void of sd and geared more towards realistic portrayals of life. The focus is emotional and character growth, wrapped up nicely at the end of a half hour.
