Es un anime divertido, es un ecchi haren que te hace reír. la historia no es de lo mejor y lo del vomito es un elemento diferenciador que no resulta muy gracioso.

This is a fun anime; it’s an ecchi haren that makes you laugh nothing new but still gets its point. The story isn't the best, and the throw up element is a detail that doesn't result that funny.

Series starts strong as a harem flick. Funny, ecchi, hot chicks, dorky guy with a split playboy persona. Entertaining watching chicks swoon over him and his glamor+suave. Story's original too, something to do with time travel and changing history--okay that's not original but the goofy details are. Sexy animation, I wish they still drew some toons like this.

Series turns decidedly shounen toward the end, not cool. Supervillain introduced, replete with absurd and very out of place costume. Fighting ensues, asses are kicked. And I do mean supervillain, not just antagonist. This is where the series slipped, choosing that strange route instead of the usual character background and development or interpersonal conflicts these series usually do.

Harem is semi-resolved. Series ends on an inconclusive note. I'll watch the OVAs for the hell of it. At least there were solid babes and ecchi to be sure. I liked a couple a lot. I'm a young, robust guy and won't pretend not to be drawn to these kinds of things.

Neutral recommendation--some fun to be had here, but some crap too. Keep fast forward handy for the second half. Imagine Love Hina at the beginning and Power Rangers or DragonBallZ at the end. Those latter two are tight in their own respects, but it was incongruent with how this series began.

*Edit: Just saw the OVAs (eps 13-15) and they're trash. More fights and dumb bad guys. No comedy whatsoever. Sad ending that I disliked. For these 3 eps I'm going to dock the series several pts. This series overall is only good for the first maybe 8 eps, rest is scum pretty much. Huge fast forwarding during the OVAs. FF is my measure of a series' worth, and I used a lot in this one unfortunately. Watch Shuffle or Girls Bravo.

What a disappointing series! Seems that I've expected too much from this show and now, I feel I just wasted my time. Though I don't want to continue watching anymore, I forced myself just because I want to finish watching what I started, no matter how bad it is. Okay, here's the summary.

Junta Momonari is a pathetic high school student who can't stand being near to women whio are dressed skimpily (or something like that), if he sees one, surely he'll puke and make people around him disgusted. One day, a girl named Karin Aoi with some sort of gun arrived from the future, (where there's a problem with overpulation) she shoots Junta with some kind of DNA modifying bullet (so that his being a mega playboy making a hundread girls pregnant will be subdued) but this bullet triggered a flipflop of his personality from being a whimp to being a playboy (no water needed!). Later karin realized that she brought the wrong bullet, now she has to shoot again Junta with the proper bullet but unfortunately someone else was shot (which made that person stronger) and that makes things worse than it already is.

So after running out of things to watch at the moment I decided to take a risk and watch this. After all, upon hearing the synopsis of having a mega play boy that could rival Wilt Chamberlain, who could say no with the stench of manure permeating the area?

At any rate the animation is dated to say the least, but hey its old so it is understandable. Sound was decent but not very memorable, for me at least. Story wise the studio could have ended it earlier, but elected to (for better or worse) continue and give the viewer a sudden jolt by throwing in some fighting powers. Still I could not help, but wonder why the people in the future simply could not come to the conclusion that if all else failed assasination would have been a valid alternative. Still the comedy was well done by satirizing the whole love at first sight deal had young women swaying about and flatulence?

Characters were decent though having Karin longing for her cute pet and her SWEET home kept things funny. Having a little love hexagon was weird, but hey suspension of disbelief dictates that the viewer must accept the idea of mega-playboy. The version I saw had no problems with subbing. I have to admit though that I was expecting much worse, possibly the fulfilment of all those "conquests." Thankfully it never resulted in reaching the supposed numbers as the few number of eps suggests.

If you have reached the point that ecchi no longer offends you in the slightest and can forgive such discrepencies for the sake of one quicky character then this maybe worth watching. As for technically wasting your time, watching TV with exception to educational programs is in itself a waste of time. Still it is your time...

Quite entertaining comedy, in times absolutely hillarious and with nice fresh idea. Ecchi motive introduced very smoothly and it's easy to spot them and don't mind them. On the contrary - enjoy them even more. Why is that? Because Mega-Playboy is a concept which kills You with it's simplicity and effectivity. Seeing those girls totally swaying when he smiles and making huge efforts to just not be alredy overwhelmed by his mere presence makes You smile broadly before You even realize. On the other hand, when poor Junta's out of his Mega-Playboy mode he pukes when he will see sth even remotely sexual. That stunned me and later when You see all those complications the guys goes through... life can be hectic and You may laugh Your ass off at his troubles. Unfortunately, DNA^2 takes a HUGE turn around episode 10. When all is resolved and You are preparing for THE END someone decided to milk the cow even more. That someone should be shot on sight, because this decision nearly kills the show. Last 5 episodes are a mistake, and You will realize it after first one. Creators unfortunately were a lot dumber and tried to pull four episodes more on You. Do Yourself a favor and pretend it all ended with episode 10. I liked the first 10 episodes so I thought it will get any good. Not only it didn't it also went opposite direction. So my enjoyment drastically lessened, and fell from 8 (after episode 10) to 4. You see, while first 10 episodes are like the description in AnimeNfo suggest they are, next five are about saving the world. mega-playboy suddenly is great fighter (watched Dragonball? You get the idea) and instead of love-story we get fight-story. Such sudden shift of genres never helped anything and anime isn't an exception. So if You are in for an entertaining comedy stop watching after episode 10.

After recently watching Video Girl Ai, I decided to rewatch DNA^2 and even after 4 years, I still thoroughly enjoyed it!
It's a fun anime, filled with sexual innuendo and some very light weight fan service.

I found this to be delightfully funny. Although from reading the introduction you might think that it is too obviously perverted and stupid, it is actually quite the oppposite.

Actually, because they are so obvious and outlandish with their perversions and the story is so obviously based on sexual themes, you can enjoy this anime even more. Instead of thinking they try too hard to do this, you can just laugh at their funny world with the DNA.

I would recommend watching this anime if you aren't offended by the themes. It is all for the sake for humor , and the story and character development really isn't that big of a deal although Junta's problem is really laughable! I also like the animation style, the girls are pretty good looking despite that it is kind of old.

DNA^2 is a solid story with a decent cast of characters. The story isn’t bad as well, with Karen having her objective to stop the powers of Mega-Playboy. I’ve also read the manga and it also pars up with anime. The weakness on Junta was also given a good way on adding his own dilemma of being with his secret old crush Ami. The animation was really good, and is also one of favorite artistic styles. I really appreciated some of the music, especially the opening theme song. The voices were good and made it more convincing of who they were. I wanted to give this more than an above average, but unfortunately the whole story seemed waned compared to the manga verion on Video Girl Ai. The story was good, it just need more focus on Junta and his problems with his love life. It's a fairly pleasant series, that I could probably read or watch again sometime.

This anime is pretty weird, yet it was really enjoyable in the first half of the anime. Like many other reviewers might agree with me, the last few episodes sucked and the ending was pretty lame also, (not the happiest, but a somewhat good solution). Youve gotta give this aniem credit for the animation, its a 1994 one and its jsut as good (sometiems better)than the present animes. This series should have had more comedic love episodes, there was barely any character development, everybody just sort of loves each other..."?" And when they introduce kotomi and her problem im sure a lot of people will agree with me when i went "wutthehell", but if u dont look at it in an immature way, she actually has a serious situational problem that can really hurt a person if they had it. I didint really like the characters too much, especially tomoko, how the duz she still like ryuugi, even after he cheated on her, became evil and hurt people, and tried to kill junta??? the music was alright, nothing too special about it. overall there were parts i really liked, and parts i really hated, but this is still a good anime to check out, im trying to find a way to read the manga, i heard its a bit different and is better

DNA² is a weird one. It's really GREAT until the 10th episode. After that it's simply crap! Ecchi(best ecchi/fanservice I've seen so far), comedy, emotions, all gone and replaced with fighting. I wanted to shoot myself while watching the last episodes. Ending isnt any better.

Animation is very good for a '94 anime. Especially the characters look good.

I liked the music very much, but that's prolly just my personal preference. The voice acting was amazing, the girls sounded so sweet :) (japanese voices)

Story was so-so. This isnt the sort of anime that relies heavily on the plot.

The main characters were interesting.

Definately worth getting, atleast up to ep 10.

DNA^2 -

First off, the animation was not that great since it's quite an old anime. but it wasnt that bad that i wanted to vomit or something.

the sound was ok. it didnt screw up the animation or anything.

the story was kinda weird. lol mega playboy. i thought it was kinda weird. but that's the story i guess.

the characters were ok. i loved karin. she was so lovable from the beggining. and i didnt like ami. aww i feel sorri for karin. i cried so much at the end when they left. =(

the value isnt really that great. i only reccommend people to rent this or borrow it from a friend or something. this isnt really one of those anime that you would sit there for another few hundred hours to rewatch the whole thing or something.

the first half of this anime was quite enjoyable since it was quite funny with the barfing and the love-connection things. i hate ami. she so selfish and dumb. and so selfish and dumb. oh and did i mention i hate her?

A wasted great anime... DNA² starts as the traditional "silly-funny-and-lovely" anime just to became the "action-shonen-and-kinda-dark-mood" type. When it tries to be funny and lovely, it's great, when it tries to be action oriented and dark, it's awful.

What can I say? I don't regret watching DNA², but the last three episodes are a very big mistake! And even considering only the first 12 episodes, they're still somewhat problematic...

But, if you already watched Video Girl AI and liked it, maybe you want to watch this one.

This anime was pretty good for a while. It was kinda funny, had a very interesting story and the romance idea of it wasnt so bad..

Then it happened.. you get to about the 7th episode and it changes direction by 180 degrees. It becomes some rediculous story with dragonball z elements(dragonballz was awesome in its early years, then it became dragonballzrepeatinfinity). By the time you finish the last episode, you are saying WTH did I just watch?

I enjoyed this anime.. the reason? I have no clue... the animation and the sound quality wasn't all that great even tho the opening song to this anime is actually one of my favorite song of all times.. LARC~EN CIEL - BLURRY EYES!!!! well.. moving right along... the story is cheesy and not much depth to it.. and the characters? when ever I see a guy with sparkling things around their head.. I just wanna puke... and there is a lot of that here..
despite all that, it was actually very enjoyable... maybe it was because I kept hearing Blurry Eyes in the background as the anime went on..

Blah i can't help but give this one straight 7s. Well, first off, i can't particularily judge the animatin since animation nowadays have totally evolve from these old ones so i guess i won't make too much of a fuss about that. K, a few points that i really hate: 1, the series was very decent basing it from the first, i say, 4 episodes. You can obviously tell that it mainly focuses on three characters and their love triangle, but nothing really happened between them until ther very very end. Ok, i guess Karin did develop 'some' feelings for junta, but other than that there were absolutely nothing. Secondly, the series would have been better off it if ended at ep 12 i believe (not too sure).. It's the point where aoi karin leaves to her alternating future and they all say sayonara. If the series ended there, i would have been quite pleased. It was horrible how they extended and added a bunch of useless crap. All gay and dragonball like with the unusual power-ups and wanna-take-over-the-world biz. I didn't mind dbz, but added that to dna^2 was absolutely atrocious.

p.s. don't mind spelling and grammar. i just got out from the worst, most boring english lecture ever.

I don't know whether the producers realised what a precedent they were setting when they made this series in just 12 episodes for television. So many other shows have followed suit, around that mark, since that you almost begin to wonder if they can make anything but. It is almost a substitute for an oav series....

Having said that, DNA^2 is not, and never will be, one of Katsura's great works. Shadow Lady had more potential, but the manga got the boot before he could take it anywhere. DNA^2 was an okay idea, but just hung around for too long, which is an odd thing to say with a series this short, but thems the breaks.

The mid-season slump is also followed by a tacked-on conclusion in the form of the 3 episode oav release.... Which was, in fact, the actual ending to the manga, but not quite as good. Pretty much everything about DNA^2 the anime could be put down to not being as good as the manga, but then, with Katsura, they very rarely are....

While the art isn't outstanding in DNA², it's still good to watch. Well it got old so i can't really blame them for that, and anyway i don't really care about art, but more about the story.
DNA²'s is funny, but that's about it, it adds a bit of sci-fi to the already very visited romance type, and accumulates lots of cliche. The only original thing here is junta's transformation, into a guy who can't even touch girl to the greatest playboy of all times (quite the change heh ?).
The sci-fi in it is very limited : mainly some dna manipulation stuff (actually quite wierd), some gadgets and of course the very paradoxal time travel machine...
Well, still a good anime to watch, but not the best as it mixes up too many genres to really focus on one and develop a deep plot.

A nice anime. Very fun to watch and is quite calm and nice. A (was) new twist to magical-girlfriend anime and is basically a normal love triangel. What adds more feeling to it is the "Mega Playboy" thingy...

It is very good for a few laughs, but nothing I'll watch again I think.

Honestly, I had real high hopes for this anime, but it didn't even reach. If you read the synopis of this DNA^2 on the previous page, that's it. Really, all of the 15 eps just re-tell the first eps with MINOR differnce that move the story along. Nothing really major. :/

Some of the content is laughable, not cause it's a comedy, but some stuff is just plain stupid. :( I watched it all and that series doesn't stick in my head to give to someone to watch if they were considering any kind of anime. All in all, a pass :/
