| DN Angel is about a boy finding his life suddenly turned upside down by the appearance of Dark the thief - who is part of himself. The story is about the coming of age as Niwa struggles to confess his love and comes to realise the difference between love and infatuation.
Characterisation is ok. The characters themselves aren't anything major, but I love the main protagonist! his personality, his expressiveness, his interests and his shy complexion all makes him a very cute and likable character. He's the exact opposite of Dark the thief.
DN Angel is probably an anime made for girls. It's entertaining as we follow the twin girls and their love interests, and how that affects Niwa. Storyline isn't anything original, but this anime is a fun watch.

| I first heard this anime 3 years ago, but never tried it out until now. A friend had told me this was a good anime, but i didn't know why. I had watched the first 24 episodes about 2 months ago, and never finished the last 2 episodes. Now that i had my holidays, i had decided to watch the WHOLE THING OVER, & Review it...
D.N. Angel is kind of like the shorter version of Full Moon wo Sagashite. Sadly, it's not as great, but it's a Really Great Show & despite the long journey, D.N. Angel is one of the very few animes around that Has an Extremely Beautiful Ending... T_T
Firstly, The animation for a 2003 anime is pretty decent. Well, of course, technology has not advanced yet, so its animation is easily beaten by modern animes these days, but nevertheless, for an anime from 2003, The 3d Effects and Sceneries were Well Done, & the 3D effects of the Buildings & the Works of Art were Very Nicely Done, even though they might seem unnatural. There were sometimes when the animation was just so-so, or looked weird, but they can be overlooked. The character designs were pretty well done too. However, there were some clothes that could have been more interesting, but weren't... =/
The Sounds? Very Well Done. The Opening theme Was a Very Nice Song, & The Ending themes were Very Soothing & Great Songs. I Really Love the Theme songs, SO Definitely Thumbs Up for that. ;) The Seiyuus did a REALLY GREAT JOB~! & The Sound Effects were pretty well done too, some sounded a bit weird and maybe a bit over, but still, the background Music was Really Nice. & The Music Aspect of D.N. Angel was Really GreaT~! =D
The Story? Well, the story kind of reminded me as though it was a shorter version of Full Moon wo Sagashite, One of the Best animes around, in my opinion. =)
It Starts off Happy-Go-Lucky, with seemingly filler-like episodes, but i didn't mind. Starting off with Dark's Challenging Adventures to Steal Pieces of Art & Solve Problems of People, showing what the Job of a "Kaitou" (Phantom Thief) is, and also, with other random troubles or events. They are probably the kind of episodes which many people will find boring, but i didn't think so, and enjoyed them quite a bit, because they had comedy value. Almost Every Episode Made me Laugh out Loud & it Lightened up the Serious Mood of D.N.Angel from time to time. x)
Then As the series progressed, The story starts getting Serious, and for those people who had given up watching D.N. Angel before even reaching the half of it probably missed out on a Really Great Series. Because by the time it reaches Episode 13, things starts getting Serious, & Climax-es start forming. More Characters get introduced, More Characters get Explored, More Characters get Developed, & More Closer Relationships & Complications are Formed... It Wasn't Just as Simple as Dark's Easy-Peasy Art-Stealing Adventures anymore, It started getting deep and revolving around the Relationships of Daisuke & Dark's Past Life...
I Really think that the Characters were well made, & were Well Developed along the way. Daisuke who seemed soo carefree & weak, i had grown more and more attached to him as the series progressed and as he faced each and every one of his adventures and challenges, his character had developed a WHOLE LOT, becoming a stronger & MUCH MORE Mature Person. Dark's Past was explored and he starts to get along with Daisuke as time passes. Risa who was like a spoilt brat princess at first, had developed and become a more understanding person along the way.
As the Whole Series Progressed, Hearts were Broken, but at the end, the Hearts were healed & the Ending was seriously, One of the Very Few Beautiful Endings that I have ever seen in an Anime. Because of the attachment i had grown onto the characters throughout the Story of D.N. Angel, The Ending was Just Simply Beautiful & Made it Extremely Worth Watching D.N. Angel...
What More Can I Say? The First time i watched this, I had cried a bit when i watched those climaxes. However, the second time, i felt unsatisfied that i couldn't cry when i watched those episodes again. =( But then, the Ending was Just Marvellous, I HAD to Shed a few Tears. T_T
However, sadly to say, despite how well D.N. Angel's story was spaced out, & how Well the characters were developed, It tries to Excel in Everywhere possible, but for some reason, it ends up being just "very good", but not "excellent" as it could have been. Maybe it was because it was a bit of a drag to have a number of those "filler-like" episodes... Who knows.
Also, D.N. Angel wasn't exactly all thaaat unpredictable. There were times when they probably gave out too much clues, but then again, Most of the time, I was Pretty Surprised and Shocked at How the Things turned out in the End. (O_O)... So there's a Pretty Decent Surprising Factor too.
There are Also a LOT Of Meaningful Messages given out throughout the series. Hearts Move, Love Changes. Love isn't something one can predict from the start, & Friendships are Extremely Important. Don't Choose Death to protect the person you Love, Live To Protect them. There Was A LOT of Meaning in D.N. Angel, & This aspect was Really GREAT~! =)
But Anyways, D.N. Angel is A Very Well Done Anime & Should Deserve a Watch if you have free time & are into some Magical Boy & Teenage Drama. =)

| DNAngel is a wonderful anime. I watched it because right now I have no internet and I was really bored. So I asked my cousin if I could borrow his DNAngel DVD and then I finished it in one week. This anime was so good that I plan on watching it again .... maybe.
Animations are really nice and good. Especially those 3-D parts that show everything in detail. The characters are all drawn well, except sometimes the characters wear such hideous clothes. And on one of the episodes there was this girl and her hair was just floating in the air. (I think it was episode 12 or something) Which was really weird, because there was no wind blowing or anything. Her hair was just up and staying up. Oh well, the animations are clean and simple. Which makes the anime look cute and wonderful in its own way. It also gave it the look that it was an innocent anime show.
The OP song fits the anime really well and I thought it was a perfect fit. The ED songs were ok, they weren't a pain to listen to. But they aren't the best songs ever and I thought they could have been better. The voice acting is good in Japanese. (I had the DVD so I could hear it in English and Japanese) The English people sounded different and way different from the Japanese voice actors. (Riku sounds the worst in English) I really like the sad background music that this anime has to offer. It really fited well with the sad parts and this anime has a few sad parts in it.
The cute innocent story is just good for this anime. A boy (Niwa) falls in love with a girl (Risa), but Risa falls in love with a phantom thief named Dark. But in reality Dark is actually Niwa and it gets really complicated. So Dark is Niwa and Niwa is Dark. But then we can't end it like that can we. Risa has a twin sister named Riku and then she starts feeling this weird emotion for Niwa. (I wonder what that could be...) Basically it's a love triangle with two girls and one boy. But the anime doesn't end there they add a phantom thief in the story. Niwa turns into Dark when he gets really embarassed or when he gets all lovey dovey over the two girls. So it's a really fun anime to watch. If you don't get my explaination watch the first episode or go back and read the animenfo description of the story. I thought the anime ended nicely and wonderfully. Didn't leave anything off and ended with a clear ending. That leaves you going "awwwwwwww."
All of the characters are cute and unique in their own way. (My favorite characters are Niwa and Riku)
Niwa - He can be wimpy at sometimes, but that makes him really awesome. Because he always does whatever you tell him to do and he will agree with what ever feels like the right decision.
Risa - Heads over heels for the phantom thief Dark. First I thought she was annoying, but then she gets better as the anime gets further into the story. One of the best characters for character development.
Riku - The tomboy girl who is active in a whole bunch of sports. She is Risa's twin sister, but they act totally different from each other. She also goes throught alot of character development.
So you have your one boy main character and the two twins. There are a whole bunch of other characters that make this anime wonderful. Like Niwa's mom, Hiwatari, Niwa's grandfather, Dark, and a whole bunch of other characters you'll see later in the anime. Overall the characters are wonderful and the character development is there for all of the three main characters.
Definetly an anime worth watching and maybe even worth watching a second time. You can watch it in English or in Japanese, doesn't really matter. (I like the Japanese voice actors better, but it depends on yor taste.) There are a few fillers, but those help the love-romance going. But they can be quite boring at sometimes. (Like from episodes seven to fourteen) Overall it's a good watch and you should watch it if you love love-romance animes or cute animes.

| I can't believe this anime is so low in ranking! I've seen worst anime with better ranking than this! I'm not even a fan of the series and I still can see the quality of this fine anime! well guese everything isn't as you expect but here goes:
ANIMATION: Incredibly smooth animation almost anime movie quality with 3d graphics in some scenes. The characters are drawn very well and every one of them are unique in the way they are drawn. The beggining and the end of every episode are very well done and the ending you'll think that its a movie comming up lol but gives you more excitment for the next episode.
SOUND: I didn't really like the beggining song but it isn't that bad, however every other sing in the entire series is simply superb, a complete work of art and goes well with the characters mood and the moment of the story wich are indication of a good direction work in the anime. The character voices are really good too (I saw it in japanese, dunno about eng dub) all though Riku's voice was pretty odd IMO.
STORY: I expected this story to be a bad one cause it starts off with a kid that transforms into a guys with black wings and steals stuff, but I was wrong. The story captures very well how innocent and beutiful kind love can be, and at the same time the value of a work of art and friendship renderd into a battle of good and evil in the most unfamiliar ways. As I sed I didn't expect this at all pretty much why I'm reviewing this anime in the first place, heh!
CHARACTERS: Very interesting characters and are diferentiated very well with there oter family members and the mood there in. The character design is intersting too for example Krad's clothing are pretty unique for an evil angel and Daisuke's hair looks like hes grandfather but hes hair color is unique to the others (wich is red and makes you think that hes an action character wich he is most of the time).
VALUE: This anime hits right in the spot in value, its defenectly worth as a colection item in my book, why? cause of all the great work its creators put into this anime in the first place! Once you see it you know I'm right.
ENJOYMENT: If ou like light hearted adventure and heartwarming romance then look no further. I haven't enjoyed so much an anime in some time now so you have my greatest recommendation on this one!
Hope you'll enjoy!! And thanks for reading my review

| The reason I wanted to watch this anime was due to the fact that it looked really interesting from the cover. But like they say, never judge a book by its cover. The anime left me with great dissapointment. It was extremely draggy at the beginning and the main plot didn't start until the second half of the story.Animation of the anime was pretty good, not fantastic though.CGs used in the anime was a plus for this department, but still inferior if compared to GONZO's.Sound was a strong aspect of this anime too. However, certain background musics were played too many times and can appear somewhat irritating. The ED for the last episode was my absolute favourite,it suited the dramatic yet relieving ending of the anime perfectly.
First half of the story was a complete waste of time.I dropped the anime after about ten episodes when the plot didn't even seem to budge. It was consisted of stand-alone episodes with a new mission introduced at the beginning of every episode.Dull and boring.I was pretty thankful that I went back for the second half. The plot began to develop at around the 17th episode and the anime took a 180 degree turn.It was a lot better or at least, worth watching. As for the characters, all were pretty well-designed and likeable.Even though Risa and Riku appeared to be annoying at the beginning, they changed for the better as the plot unfolds.
I can only say that I enjoyed the last 10 episodes of the anime.Yet again,I have to emphasize that the first half of the anime wasn't at all necessary. The ending was a pretty satisfying one, even though some might consider it being bittersweet.I would recommend this to shoujo anime lovers who have the patience for all the fillers. The second half was certainly worth the wait.

| Ack, this series was such a burden to finish. I couldn't have done it without liberal use of fast forward. I didn't like OP or ED, I always skipped. A bunch of songs were sung by guys too, makes me wonder if this is shoujo anime. BGM was forgettable except for some oddly placed tango that was kind of interesting.
Plot is surreal and weird, I could never make much sense of it. Dunno if the manga makes more sense or is better, bc I never read any. Deals with a 14 yr old boy who has split personality, kinda Hulk like. Except his alter ego isn't a brute, he's a magical, winged bishounen type. And he gets activated (and deactivated, somehow) when the protagonist feels lovey-dovey, not pissed off. That makes for some silly situations.
There are lots of filler eps that served no purpose. They could've been dumped with no harm done. There are a couple of main bad guys in this series, some classmate of the main guy's and his wicked dad. Bad guy is one of those good/evil villains, but I didn't think he was cool at all. He's sort of a stalker and a little ghey at times.
I found little to like here. There was a somewhat cute romance story, and I liked the girl in it. That was about the only saving grace, but it wasn't enough to make the series worth watching. I say pass on this one. On second thought, this series had potential I think, as the manga was supposedly a hit. But the fillers detracted, making the length unnecessarily long and pointless, and the focus seemed misplaced--more romance and development instead of mission after mission would have been appreciated.

| If only the story could have been condensed into 13 episodes, I could have rated this higher. By about episode 20 you'll question where the story is going and why it hasn't ended yet.

| I read up to the 7th manga book before I started watching the anime. I must say that the anime let me down very badly. D.N.Angel was one of my favourite mangas ever due to its romantic triangles and interesting plot. I started watching this with high hopes but was instead dragged on with disappointment. The whole love complication between Riku, Risa, Daisuke, and Dark didn't follow the manga much at all. I much prefered the manga version. The anime made up lots of things, and really ruined what was an amazing story.
Another thing I didn't like much about the anime was the lack of romance which was really one of the major points of the story. All love scenes seems to be rushed and the switching between emotions seem too sudden and almost incomprehensible.

| D.N.Angel was a pretty good anime to watch, except that I get the feeling this is one of those "honger" anime that everyone watches... I just have that feeling. O_O
I love XEBEC animation. Though it's not as good as Stellvia (same year, too...), the CGs are top-notch. The only bad thing is the 2D animation - though I don't want it to be shiny like Stellvia, they felt dully coloured and very flat.
The OP and EDs are okay. The second half of the season's ED was the best because it was the mood the dramatic parts were looking for. The soundtracks are nice, though they play the same song a bit too much. And though Daisuke had a light voice, it was too light; Riku also had a too "cutsy" voice for her character - she's suppose to be a tomboy!
Half the season were fillers and half the season was the drama, separated into about 5 arcs. The first arc set the mood of the story, but the second arc was the fillers - boring, unimpressive, and made me feel like dropping it. However, in the third arc, an anime-original character was introduced to spice things up - a little annoying, but it got the romance thing going, which was what I was looking forward to the most. The fourth arc was mediocre - a nice metaphor that failed when it got too long and I couldn't grasp the meaning of what was going on. The final arc reveals everything, though, and the ending was satisfying and could leave room for more story (though there's a game for that now...). The only bad parts were the fillers and dragging, but otherwise impressive, even though some anime-originals were put into use.
The characters were alright. Some were awesome, and I couldn't really hate anyone. Daisuke is your awesome-but-looks-wimpy character, the twins were... not twins (but made up for their sweet personalities) and Dark is your awesome flying thief. The shounen-ai factors (because the artist is female) also added the joy of watching this (as a guy) - really funny! The only character I could dislike was Krad, the main antagonist.
Overall, I enjoyed this anime very much. The animation made up for a dragging storyline, and the anime team didn't flop with the anime-original factors. Though I heard the manga is better, this is still a nice watch. If you want to, skip the 6-7 episodes in the first half of the season with all those fillers.

| So I started watching DNAngel because at the time I didn't have anything else to watch and I had already downloaded it and burned a copy for a friend as well as for myself. So as I watched the first 10 episodes or so I was completely bored with the anime. Each episode so far had some kind of mushy/cute theme to it and I really wanted to stop watching it. I was then told by the same friend who I burned it for that it's a romance anime and that explained everything.
This is the first romance anime I've seen and it wasn't as bad as I had initially thought. However, it didn't get good for me until about the 18th episode. The whole love triangle between Daisuke, Risa, and Riku is what kept me watching this anime in the earlier stages and the story progressed well as it finished up.
I think the animation is definitely DNAngel's strongest trait. Very clean and up to date (considering it's a semi-old series). The sound was also good, but the story I have mixed feelings about. I didn't like the whole thing on how Daisuke turns into Dark just by looking at a picture and how Dark goes stealing art work (although this is revealed near the end and justifies it). I did like how the story was basically a conflict between two families: the Hikari and the Niwa. I thought that was interesting. The character's were very captivating. I liked how Risa and Riku were twins and the relationship they both had with Daisuke and Dark.
I was very pleased that I decided to finish DNAngel. It did start off really slow, but the story gets interesting in the later episodes. In my opinion, if you can stand the boring first episodes you won't regret it when you finish it.

| A very mediocre anime with very common and overused themes. Hardly brings anything original into the realm of fantasy anime. Lack of any serious, romantic, adventurous, or emotional development for the large part of the anime. An anime perfect for the young teenager or anyone who likes little sweet stories that arise from supernatural stuff.
My interest in each episode really fluctuated. A lot of them were very corny... There was a weak central storyline, but a lot of it was based on various and random supernatural and fantasy events happening in Daisuke's life. A lot of it was also an attempt for comic relief and awkward romance situations for a very awkward/clumsy/typical shy character. Daisuke is a very weak and boring character... he lacks any real flaws that make him interesting. I kind of hoped Dark would be more of a badass... instead he is kind of like the Kaitou Kid from Detective Conan... which would be cool, if he had a better rival.
I found the basis of Daisuke/Dark transformation to be really silly. Some silly hormonally controlled boy. The way that they can talk to each other kind of reminds me of split personality psychotic people. It really doesn't seem to do much for the anime...
Anyway, this anime is not one you would watch episode after episode waiting for the next thing to happen. Very uneventful, little suspense, and kind of boring...
What irked me the most was how happy happy it is throughout. The fact that such crazy things happen, i'd expect a much bigger reaction from the characters. It isn't very realistic and it is too fantasy like for me.

| Unfortunately, I have not read the manga version of DNAngel so I cannot compare the anime and the manga, but apparently the manga is supposed to be much better than sitting in front of the computer and watching this tedious show (I hope).
Animation was by far the best aspect of DNAngel. The character art was generally okay, (except those girls Riku and Risa don't even look like twins at all) but the presentation of the environment, such as the buildings and such, was very well done. Thinking back, I think that the extremely fragile and weak plot was camouflaging behind the excellent animation, hoping that viewers would not notice.
The quality of the music was fine, although the songs themselves were so...normal. I felt as though DNAngel's songs were composed of bits of this song and bits of that song, therefore it lacked musical impact. The voiceacting was quite annoying because the girls had such squeaky voices and Dark's voice was by far the most suitable for his character already.
In terms of storyline, this is one of the worst anime ever. There was hardly any plot to be unfolded except for the rivalry between Dark and Krad, which was touched on very briefly in the first episode and definitely not explored thoroughly enough to please any 'fans'. The originality of the whole thief idea was there (sort of) but that did not save the storyline from being repetitive and therefore boring. I felt that the filler episodes were completely unnecessary and that this anime could've done better being an OVA with about 4 or 3 episodes. You will all be dismayed to hear that about 75% of DNAngel is composed purely of optional fillers. Skipping episodes is a good idea here.
Character design, as mentioned before, was alright but for me only Dark and Krad stood out as 'out of the ordinary'. Risa Harada looked like Tohru Honda from Fruits Basket, and sadly they are both equally bug-eyed and annoying. Character development is so concentrated on certain characters like Daisuke and the two girls that the character development for Dark, Krad and Hiwatari Satoshi is omitted (and they are the most un-annoying and interesting characters as well!)
Rewatch value? None at all. Just buy the manga, because according to everyone else, the manga is better tenfold. The quality of translation for the fansub, btw, was apparently quite bad because they seemed to have translated the white creature's name as With when it's supposed to be Wiz.

| I was far more impressed with this after a second viewing and I have a feeling it made more sense this time because I watched the English language dub, which infact was impressively good ^_^
It's a fun and interesting tale of good v. evil, with a sweet romantic element, a little comedy and some really cute guys!

| A weirdly wonderful romance story with a difference, DNAngel supasses my expectations from being a normal generic romancer and did things better than expected.
First off, the story is a different but apprectiated one, where instead of boring high-school romance stuff, the twist is that 'Dark Mousy' lives within the male protagonist and he is the one that ensures the complexity of the romance between the 3 characters (or is that 4 ;) )Its really the complex relationship between the characters which makes this interesting, i found myself rooting Riku on for half the series because she was my fave character and her relationship between the other characters were done better than Risa or any others. Despite the romance story setting being settled and fulfilling, the 'other' story between Dark and his general thievery is generally brushed aside and not really heard of between the first and last episodes. The story between Krad and Dark never truly developed and the background story is mildly mentioned but easily forgotten. A shame in fact because Krad could have had more screentime and exposure in the story.
The entertainment factor in this varies abit, despite some comedy episodes, most of them are pretty 'forced' and i found myself not laughing or just doing a quiet laugh. It tries abit too hard for my liking, however, DNAngel has some good mini-stories to boot which builds up drama, relations and excitement... despite some unneccessary filler episodes. The filler episodes were boring and could have been used for other thigns like story and character development, but the none-fillers were good fun.
One major gripe i have to say about the romance is that despite DNAngel hiding 'who the girl is gonna be?', it got ruined half-way through the series when they basically showed you who Daisuke is going to be with. Though i partly cheered for the choice.. i was mad that the series showed the candidate and thus losing the auraof mystery in the romance.
However, despite that, DNAngel is fun and enjoyable for a romance, despite the other story being too confusing and undeveloped.

| This is a must watch anime for those who like drama. It is quite nice as it had a bit of fantasy and the romance part of the story is also interesting. The story about friendship too.Worth spending time to watch this.It will not disappoint you.The Episode 1 ending really make me got hook on the story.Although the story may be slow placed for a while. But it sure back to intense soon. And this anime is quite funny too.If you enjoy watching romance show. You can try this too.You will love it.Although it is not all about romance. But it sure it nice. And the romance part is quite realistic too.Especially the music part is wonderful.

| This is definately one of those animes that you should watch once. Yet despite how much I like this series, I simply cannot bring myself to watch an episode more than once. The animation would be great if it didn't have those lame PS1 style 3D animation sequences. The soundtrack is good and fitting, but begins to sound monotonous. The voice acting is pretty good and fits the character, but I prefer it with the Japanese track.
Basically, while it is a good series, it lacks originality or emotion which is what I crave in anime. When I watch a shoujo anime(though I am a guy), I like that something that grips me and makes me want to watch more and more. Fushigi Yuugi had that. Anything from Clamp has that. But this series doesn't. And it becomes the same thing throughout the series: Risa loves Dark. Riku and Hiwatari love Daisuke. And things never seem to develop past that.

| D.N.Angel is an interesting and frustrating sort of series. While it has moments to match with the most impressive anime, it also leaves you with a feeling of incompleteness. Watching the last episode, you look back and think, "That was neat, but where's the rest?" And unfortunately, the manga won't make you feel much different, despite the slightly longer stories.

| I can't understand why this anime is able to get such a high rating. It is like, one of the worst animes that I have watched. I would say that the manga version is much better.
Okay, I must agree that the first episode is nice, and that is what probes me to carry on watching the anime. The first episode left me with a 'wow' feeling, but this feeling quickly dissipated. The following episodes just tumbles further and further down.
There isn't much character development. And this anime is base on a story an episode. And every episode sorts of have a conclusion. This leaves little suspense and low motivation for anyone to want to carry on watching. There isn't the feeling like, 'Oh my god, what is gonna happen next.' Instead it is, 'Oh.. so they won again, sigh.. next episode they are gonna steal something and get it again.. sighh..'
This is truly the feeling I get.
Another matter is the development of feelings between the characters. There isn't much to say here since little has been portrayed between characters relationships. Also, there isn't much character developments. It seems as though they are trying to squeeze in as much content as possible into these 26 episodes and i must say that they failed rather miserably.
Okay, then to the characters drawing. I must say that Krad and Dark are gorgeous. However, somehow, I can't help but feel that there is some wierd shadowing on the characters. I don't know exactly how to put this across, but you see awkward lines of light on their hairs and it isn't as natural as it should be. Okok, I am crapping but this really bothers me a lot.
Well, all in all, I must say that this anime pales a lot in comparison with its manga and I would recommend you not to watch.

| Basically i think this is an anime that is really worth watching. I had watched this anime over and over again and each time i get to the ending...well it always got this sort of feeling that is half glad half sad. And yeah, the ending is really good and that goes the same with the story and characters.

| based on 1-16 episodes.
Reading the manga was real fun , and when i had the oportunity to watch the anime , i thought that finally i'll see the bueatiful manga animated . But of course , i also expected to have the same great story . Unfortunately , the anime just went to some other direction than the manga . Almost everything that happened in the first volume of the manga , happened in the FIRST episode of the anime . And then i knew that this is not going to be good.
First of all , the animation . The animation was really decent , with a bit of 3D (or whatever it was) made this animation to somehow above the average. but the animation can't save the anime though.
The sound was not special , but it wasn't horrible as well . decent like the animation.
And now , the most important thing - the story . The story is shomewhat similar to the manga's story , however it's progress and the things that happens are different and made bad . Because of their stupid decision to put all the events that happens in the first volume of the manga , into the first episode of the anime , they had to make a lot of filler - or just absurdic stupid pointless episodes . And , of course , it was bad , really bad .
The charaters are not special at all , but it's interesting to see how Daisuke deals with Drak .and that's about it . The others charaters didn't develope , maybe except of Risa. Oh and there were really funny things that some of the charaters said , they werent funny because of a joke or something , they were funny because of the absurdic and stupid thing that they said. Like when Satoshi said "what's my purpose in life?" , c'mon what the hell is this? they tried to make it deep or something , but at least they could put that line in a suitable place and event .
So what do we have? A great name that was ruined . You should read the manga , and you'll see the greatness of D.N Angel . Avoid from the aNIME.
