Leading on from .hack//Liminality is this brighter, more lighthearted take on the series. The end result is much the same, a below average anime, however the kiddy feel of this show will turn off many fans who liked the previous series in the franchise.

I’m glad I can finally review an interesting Hack series. I honestly don’t know the primary factor that made me enjoy the series more than the rest of them. It’s possible it could have been the fact that Hack Dusk doesn’t try to be what it’s not. All 3 of the other Hack series tried to be a serious engaging story with an assortment of interesting characters and failed miserably. The only Hack series that came relatively close to an engaging story was Hack Roots.

this is a great anime and the best of the .hack series.this had more action, better characters and around a better plot.

animation-the animation for 2003 is very good. this is the only aspect were the original . hack series did better.the character design was good they all had unique outfits and good weapon design.

sound- the sound was good and much better than . hacks.the voice axctors were decent in both the sub and the dub.

story- the story is basicall the same .there are children who now have won the outfit of blackrose and a nother character(who i forgot the name off) and then they enter into the world of the .hack .the diffrences in plot is that now the main male lead has a gauntlet on his arm and hes looking for his twin sister(in the second arc).

characters- the characters are better and much more entertainng. ouka is a very sexy and cool wolf warrior .mmirielle is very entertaining and is obssessed with rare items.shouga and rina were twin brother and sister and were very cool and passive in there own way.also shouga is a better lead character than tsukasa was.

enjoyment- this is the best of the .hack series in my opinion.also it is one of the best game anime of all time.

This title has exciting adventures, friendship and strange&dreadful events - in a virtual reality. It's a very lighthearted and fun series, which you will most likely enjoy watching with a group of close friends.

This serie is a must-see for every MMORPG/diablo/video game addict in general. The virtual reality concept alone makes it worth watching, not to mention the terrific portrayal of brother-sister social relations after their parents have broken up and the exciting adventures and incident-solving in The World.

To sum it all up in a single sentence: Some light-hearted fun to cheer you up between all the depressing dialogue-based portrayals of world destruction you had been watching recently.

Firstly, it must be said that Hack Twilight is not a sequel to Hack Sign, nor are they even of the same style. This isn't to say that Twilight is particularly bad - it's far from a masterpiece, but it's a worthy addition to the Hack collection. What stops Twilight from being something memorable is that it really doesn't know what it wants to be. Is it a save-the-world action-adventure? A drama of love between siblings? In the end, it falls down as nothing in particular.

The main difference I would identify between the two series is that Twilight isn't quite as serious. There's definitely a chord of comedy and fun being played throughout the series - something that Sign didn't have at all. What I missed from Sign though, was the background music. Twilight's background music is almost non-existant, and when it's there, often you wish it wasn't. The seiyuu give their usual high-standard performances, but the dialogue could have been more interesting.

The animation was pretty sharp and warm; the character designs of the "good guys" were especially likable, but some other characters' eyes were too far apart and looked quite alien. The characters themselves were pretty stock, but I think Shugo and Rena's relationship was portrayed very well. You can't expect too much from such a short series (I would argue that something like Elfen Lied is just magic).

The plot fails its attempt to involve the audience and moves too sluggishly. The comedic and light-hearted nature of the first half or so is Twilight's saving grace. Overall, I would only recommend this for Dot-Hack or cutesy anime fans.

Animation- I have to say, the characters look very cute ^__^ There's really nothing wrong about the animation, so I'll just go on and give it a 10

Sound- Eek. That's all I have to say. Besides the opening and ending theme songs, the violin songs can get quite annoying.

Story- I like the whole idea of the story, finding out about the .hackers and all. But I prefer to read the manga. At least it's not like .hack//Sign, where everyone is just sitting around doing nothing.

Characters- Do the characters develop? Nope, not really. I guess it's because the series is too short. In the manga, yes they do, towards the end.

Value- No comment ^__^

enjoyment- it's quite clear that this series has more excitement to it then .hack//sign. It's very fuuny and not repitive, I likey! But, it kinda was boring around the first episodes. Maybe because they were pointless episodes. Oh well

overall- Read the manga. It's more better.

Okay, so it is like a cute version of the originals, but its so much better. For one thing, with this series, if you miss a couple of eps in a row, you can still pick it back up. And, it is alot easier for simpler minds (like mine) to understand.

The only reason I didn't give the story a 9 or 10 is because of the last few episodes. The rest of it is great and has great potential. It is not as boring as .hack//SIGN and it goes way faster and it's not depressing at all.

The animation is beau-ti-ful, just like the other .hack's, and this one is even brighter and more colourful.

The sound is also fantastic, also just like the other .hack's. The theme song is really catchy and one of the best i've heard.

The characters are again greatly designed. Not much to say about that. Their feelings are mostly understandable, although the brother-sister-bond is sometimes a bit confused with two people in love as i saw it :P

I really enjoyed watching the show and i couldn't wait to see the next episode every time. However, the last episode took away some of the enjoyment, it might have been better to not watch that one, the ending sucks.

Legend of the Twilight is a mixed bag. On the plus side, it has decent animation and art, is very short, and actually has a plot beneath the stupid incest innuendo (which, really, is only in the first four or five episodes). Plus, unlike .hack//SIGN, it's not just about people standing there looking bored talking to each other, or not talking to each other, etc.

On the down side, the characters are kind of annoying, the plot is way too dark for something that looks like a children's show (but isn't), and the music is awful, except for the ending theme by See-Saw.

.hack//SIGN, indeed, is the better of the two series, but at least I didn't feel the urge to fall asleep while watching .hack//Legend =D

The least serious of the hack series, thus the least boring in my take. This has a bit more humor than the other 2 shows and a pretty straight forward plot, but it takes itself a bit to serious...I mean, it's just a game, and people act like everything that's wrong in their life can be fixed in "the world". Also, I don't get why in the hack world, no one shuts the damm game off and put it out of law? I mean, how many people have to go into a coma before something happens? it's unrealistic. Despite all that, I did enjoy this show, it was fun and cute, although the last few episode dragged on a bit, and the ending kinda sucked. Animation was smooth and nice,VA was good too, and music didn’t stand out as much as the other hack shows, but it was good nonetheless.

Pretty good...I have to say I despise .Hack//Sign, but I really loved this one. The animation is a bit too cutesy, but very clean and includes a little bit of ecchi. The music was really catchy, but I feel many of the better tunes weren't used enough. Characters are really unique, while the story itself starts really quickly. The characters don't really develop that much seeing how the series ends fast. The ending it self was rushed, but still highly recommended. The downside is there isn't many episodes and the series can seem a little inconsistant at times.

For me this was MUCH more appealing than the other .hack series. In large part because it's not as seriously boring and manages to have a little fun. For those of you who prefer an RPG that has a sense of humor, give .hack//LoTB a whirl.

For all those Dot Hack fans out there this one really ruins the mood. Basically it takes place long after all the events of Hack//Sign, Liminality, and the game and as a result adds nothing to the series. It seems like one last ditch effort to capitalize on the success of the Dot Hack name. Where as the originals were meant for young adults with their emotional complexes and Matrix-like ideas on reality this one is just a goofy kids story. Even the animation style is different and more kiddy. This is really unfortunate because it really could have been done better. The premise of a dark aura created from rejected data really could have pushed the story in an interesting direction. This was just an overall disappointment.

If you were disappointed by .hack//SIGN then you'll love Legend of Twilight. If you liked SIGN then just treat this as pure entertainment like a dessert. And for all your RPG fans (like me) out there, the whole .hack project is not to be missed.

In a way Lengend of Twilight fixed up what SIGN was missing: the action, comedy, fast pace, smooth animation and the adorable character designs (my personal favourite) of a decent anime, or should i say RPG game? Overall this series was bright, happy and everything opposite of SIGN. It seemed like .hack project team was trying hard to get to a wider range of audiences.

Having said that, it still seemed things were missing (maybe due to the fact I haven't played the .hack games set between the two series). It's as if everything from the setting to characters in this series were so kawaii you just can't take it seriously. I thought the story could be explored in more depth, and some of the excellent minor characters deserved more development. The music in there definitly couldn't match up to the elegant OST in SIGN. it was cute but forgettable like most of the series.

The whole concept of 'The World' was briliant, being a hardcore RPG fan one could only dream to have such a game in the near future. .hack//SIGN excelled at exploring the philosphical ideas behind this master project, while Lengend of Twilight just lacked a little sophistication. So at the end of the day, maybe this series was suppose to be light-hearted and enjoyed for fun.

One more thing, I couldn't help but notice the 'excessive' brother-sisterly love portrayed by the two main characters. Although this wasn't done on purpose (some cultural difference i believe), just be aware since people can be very sensitive to such things.

.hack//Legend of Twilight has a few positives over Sign as it features brighter animation and focuses a bit more on the elements of an online RPG which Sign showed little of. However, the music in this hack series lacks the flavor that it gave in Sign and it's not as heavily character driven. But, it's still a fun anime to see as twin siblings Shugo and Reina enjoy the World while uncovering the source of the mysterious data-corrupted monsters overwhelming the game.

Well this series is all well and good for somone looking for a friendly cute anime based on the THE WORLD. I much more prefer .hack//sign but nevertheless .hack//dusk does hold its own ground and is quite enjoyable but there was a few things i just did not like.

1)The ending was utter tosh even after bandai added the extra ending moments to the 3rd DVD volume.

2)I got fed up with hearing "Rena" and "Shugo" constantly saying each others names to one another. Got very annoying hearing them say this back and forth.

Well, this anime show was very enjoyable and very good to watch. I liked the story for the most part because it talks about "Death," and "Life." The power that two twins and their families goes through, cn be a very powerful and good kind of power. I would recommend this show to anyone who likes this kind of show. This show was very inspiring to me, and it may to others, too. I just think it could have been a little longer, though.

.hack//Twilight a.k.a .hack//DUSK is the morning while .hack//SIGN is the night.

This is a good anime but far away to the universe .hack, who create confusing and dark animes.this is the oter side of SIGN,this anime have a lot of actions,a lot of comedy.it´s like a Digimon, Shugo(Kite) save Rena (Black rose) of the powerfulls monsters, and then,Barumunk appear, then "kite" used the Braccelet.
Technically, this is the Plotline,if you enjoy SIGN and LIMINALITY and wait for a confusing plot,No reccomendations.

I enjoy this anime, but I don´t know why, maybe, because this anime is funny,or the weak plotline influence in the enjoyment...or remember SIGN, I don´t know.

Not quite as good as .hack//SIGN, but still quite satisfying. The best part is the visuals, which are simply outstanding (even more so than the original). Sadly, it lost the intellectual aspect that made it so appealing. Nevertheless, it's still fun to watch.
