| This is the last ova of Fushigi Yuugi, and like the othe ovas released before, all of them doesn't appeal to me as much as the anime did, though the anime itself is not really that good either.
The story takes place years after the series ended, Tamahome or Taka and Miaka got married. Then a girl who is obsessed with Taka found the book of the four Gods and wishes herself to be absorbed by the book so that she can be with him, and so she opened the book and quickly she was transported to ancient China and right after that Miaka fell into a coma and Taka has no choice but to go back inside the book and there he found his world in chaos.

| ---Note Same review on all FY OVAs---
-OVA1-
Extremely boring as I hardly had an idea of what was going on. The characters are as bland as ever. There is virtually no comedy which was the only redeeming quality of the tv series. The only reason I bothered starting the OVA was for the sake of finishing the series. The story is downright moronic and it is extended needlessly. Oh and Miaka is still annoying as ever.
-OVA2-
The OVA is more or less a continuation which follows the events of the the first OVA. The dastardly villians strike back and another round meaningless "adventure" of the Celestial warriors fighting to save the both worlds. The most horrible of all OVAs. Another rape attempt on Miaka (GAWD!!!!).
-OVA3-
The best of all since Miaka goes in a coma and is pretty much nonexistent. The improvement is massive as the other characters can finally shine in the series. The story is a bit better and has little to do with the last two OVAs. Thus it puts the end to the entire FY saga in a better light. The story can get repetitive with its formulaic plot form which involves battling the "fake gods" as soon as one more Celestial warrior is discovered. Still I have to admit this was more enjoyable than the rest.
--Conclusion on all OVAs--
The OVAs are definitely made for diehard fans of the series. If you didnt enjoy the series that much there is no point in watching this as it is pretty much of the same thing over again with same themes and plot lines from the tv series.

| after watching 52 episodes of the tv series, more of tamahome and miaka really becomes extremely boring
::animation is same old fushigi yuugi style and quality...the cgi scenes did not blend in very well...
::music adds to atmosphere as usual but nothing spectacular
::the story is very 'cyclic'...it takes a while for something useful to happen. it surprises you at times but it doesn't contribute greatly to the overall plot. similar fushigi plot with a different person...
::characters ~ some old fushigi characters...there is substantial development although repetitive and unoriginal in that respect
::value and enjoyment...really couldn't sit through watching this one properly despite being able to sit through fushigi yuugi series.
a disappointing conclusion to a potentially very good series

| Somehow I like this OVA more than the first 2. Miaka and all the others have matures(duh, she becoming a mother). The one who making mistake is the younger ones which really suite the story. The plot really plans out really smoothly here, and once again, you really really have to listen closely why this and that happened. It not just about 2 love anymore. It become saving the world, the book's universe, which i really like the idea. Also Miaka didn't cry in this OVA which is a first time she really knows what she doing. We also see some of the character in kids state, they're really cute. Everything make senses in Fushigi Yuugi. I'm never EVER watch sequal just see some character get happy ending, i'm alway watch for some more action, more fantasy and more story that writer give us. OVA 3 really what it all I expected. Fushigi Yuugi is the best romance/fantasy/action I've seen so far in my life, and this OVA made me likes it even more :D

Möge FY in Frieden ruhen...!

| I was really looking forward to this OVA considering I'm such a MAJOR FY fan! ^^ But, I was so disappointed!
The only thing I enjoyed about this OVA is the fact that Taka and Miaka finally get married. Two MAJOR things that disappointed me are: Miaka has little to do with this OVA and the fact that Mayo is after Taka. That Mayo girl grated on my nerves! FY fans are better off watching the first 2 OVAs.

| I loved seeing the seishi as kids! So cute! Anyway, I would recomend this if you are a FY fan, but otherwise, not for you. Watch if you didn't like Miaka, very few scences with her in it.

| Although Fushigi Yuugi is one of my favourite animes, this OVA was quite disappointing. The TV series itself ended perfectly and there really was no need to continue on with the story. The first two OVAs were okay, but this third one was just unnecessary. There is a big shift in the animation from the TV series into the OVAs, where the characters become a lot more serious and you don't see as many chibi expressions (which I absolutely loved) as you've seen in the original show. Also, I've always wondered why all the Suzaku seishi always return/revive, but we never hear anything about the Seiryuu seishi??
I'd recommend this to all Fushigi Yuugi fans who want to see how the story finally (and it better be final this time) ends, but don't expect too much from this.

| Overall, I was quite dissappointed with this particular OVA series.
I'm a huge fan of Fushigi Yuugi (one of my favourite anime series) and was eagerly looking forward to seeing my favourite characters again.
The storyline is vague and disproportional - it starts off fairly slow, picks up its pace and comes to an abrupt ending. Things were not clearly explained and to be frank, I am still confused as to certain aspects of the story.
One of the redeeming points is the music - but even that gets cut short.
Certain characters got reborn and are children ... but then suddenly change back to their old selves... huh? The new character, Mayo, also bears an overwhelming resemblance to how Yui used to look like.
All in all, dissappointing.
