| Ok, I missed out on purpose for first couple of years after the series came out in japan because when I saw the cover at bookstore, I thought the aurthor gave up the good old cool style of Yuyu Hakusho and began a short pokemon like series for young audiance like Akira
Toriyama's recent career after DBZ...
BOY! WAS I WRONG BIG TIME!!!!
This is the best manga series among all the different genres of manga today. You will become hooked into intriguing world of Tokashi one more time.

| One off the best mangas i know, and now it started again after a long break. WEEEEEEE! ^_^V For you who have watched the anime: The manga is way better, and longer! so read it. plus one off the coolest fights in the manga wasn't in the anime. T_T (Kastro vs Hisoka)

| Hunter x Hunter is truly one of the best adventure mangas out there. While it is still coming out, Hunter x Hunter is always developing new skills, scenarios, and situations for Gon and friends to overcome and learn from.
For the first half, before Greed Island, Hunter x Hunter truly entices one into their world. Everytime I read the manga, I was transported alongside Gon into a world of Nen that I was wholly unfamiliar with at first. This is exactly what sets this action adventure manga from the others. The world that the manga-ka created is detailed in many aspects. Well thoughout skills and battle situations make this a thinker manga if one wishes it to do so. Furthermore, this detail in HxH world does not detract from the reader's leisurely read through. Definitely very fun.
For the Greed Island and beyond part, things start to slow down. There is definitely less character development, but there really is no need. After all, Gon has a hundred+ chapters to establish who he was... and now to look for his dad and get involved with more international events. Despite the slowing down of character development, HxH does not still lose its intellectual and strategic appeal. One of the ever-persisting charms of hxH is how the protagonists are always thinking (as well the antagonists) of how to defeat each other.
A definite enjoyable read for anyone and everyone!!!

| What can I say, HxH is still the best Shonen-manga I have ever read. It has a great set of characters, a good story. And it has been drawn very well. I can't find anything negative about this series. :)

| One of the most amazing manga I've have the pleasure of reading. Why is it so good? The creator, Hiroyuki Togashi, has a truly unbound creativity and is master of both the "horror" and "game" aspects of storytelling.
What do I mean by that? For "horror": the villians, settings, and adverse circumstances in HxH are highly detailed and variable. You can tell Togashi has imagined the history of every aspect of the background for the darker parts of HxH, and the result is that you can really feel the evils that pervade the dark corners of this world.
For the "game" aspect (for lack of a better term) Togashi seems to have an endless supply of complex problems for his heros to overcome. Each time they face an obstacle they must work out a way to solve it, sometimes it takes only a simple trick or deft sidestep in thinking (the candle in trick tower), sometimes it requires an elaborate plan (the defeat of the bomber in GI). In many cases the two central characters, Gon and Killua work together, combining Gon's free thinking and passion with Killua's observation and planning.
This brings up the final point I want to make. The "horror" and "game" aspects already being spectacular, this story needs nothing else to be great, yet it also has terrific character relationships and development. Gon and Killua go from fellow examinees to best friends. They learn about themselves and the world from each other, and their attitudes and approach to problems changes too (esp the focus on Killua's "escape" reaction later on). Realistically, changes in major parts of their personality take time, and progress gradually over the course of many episodes.
In conclusion: it's amazing, most especially in the categories of story, characters, and enjoyment.

| Wow, that's really all I can say of this manga. This is probably one of the greatest stories I have ever read, and it is full of imagination and creativity. But, if anything, it is fun! It is just plain fun. A joyride from beginning to end. Yes, like everyone says, it does tend to get a bit sketchy here and there, sometimes leaving it up to your imagination to fill in the gaps created, but that shouldn't discourage you from reading this manga. Highly recommended and you should definitly pick it up since the manga was recently licensed in the U.S. (from what I heard and, if the source was right, it will come out sometime in April of 2005.)

| Im curious the pic they have hunterXhunter.. ive never seen tat before eh... Oh well.. Today, im here to comment on HunterXHunter and all I can say that it is the best!! Ive read some reviews and agree that every now and then, the artist does get a little bit sketchy, but still the art is much better than the many other mangas ive seen before. This manga is wonderful! Especially the different climaxes throughout the story. The newest published volume (after greed island) is unbelievable.. the mood, atmosphere, characters, idea is very wonderful and i dunno, what else to say except that it ROCKS!!!!! Definitly worth a read, but if you might be left a little be annoyed and disappointed when you are left hanging there, since the series isn't fully published yet.

| This is one of the worst design manga that I read since YuYu Hakusho. I admit that Togashi did make awesome story. However, his drawing is terrible. Some episode the color on the Cels still not good enough.

| You like action and cool characters then read this fantastic manga and watch the anime.The manga is drawn not that great even pretty bad at times but all in all there are unique characters and cool fights.The story is the best aspect, twist,surprises, training sessions, great adventures and lot's of action(of course there's also a tournament).But it's not like Dragonball, the fights are rather short but more intelligent and that's the fascinating aspect of this series.But there are also the great characters on the good side as well as on the evil site. Everyone will find his favourite character.
All in all a perfect entertaining series for action fans.

| Poor designs, people look uninspiring, backgrounds suck and so on. Story is good, once you get used to a lot of talking and poor art. Characters are awesome,they look boring, but they grow on you eventually.
