I'm amazed that there are only 11 reviews for this incredible anime here on AnimeNFO.

Hanada Shonen Shi is one of the better anime I've seen, and though it does have its flaws it really is a superior show.

I highly recommend watching this series!

(Zeu$-Team fansubs.Very good translation quality. But sadly no sneak peeks which are included in the Anime-Empire English fansubs)

This is really one of the most touching animes I saw.

Very heart-warming. I warn the viewers that it is an emotionally demanding title, especially in the second half. If you thought that the last 10 episodes of Full Moon were touching they're nothing compared to this.

As for the story:we have Ichiro Hanada, a boy whom ghosts and demons are able to contact and ask for favours. Usually each story about a ghost revolves around two-three episodes. There are some individual episodes especially in the beginning and some episodes were no ghosts are involved at all.

The way all this is presented make this perhaps the best 25 episode anime series I watched. I picked it up too late.

The characters were of the best I saw. Very lively and natural, they're the main reason this anime is so touching.

Of course it has some humour as well that isnt so common in many animes. It really stands above the rest.

I guarantee that no other anime will make you feel that way after having watched the final episode.

There isnt only the story and characters that make this title great. Animation, done expertly by Madhouse, is simple and the rural setting are very nicely drawn.

Necessary to add that this was based on a manga that hasnt been scanlated yet. By the same mangaka who did Piano no Mori (first 3 volumes are scanlated).Judging from the design of that manga the anime perfectly catches the manga's atmosphere.

Music is also good, contributing to the touching and funny moments.

OP and ED were of the best visually and though I didnt even know a group such as Backstreet Boys existed the music was OK. From the OP you'll already want to watch the anime.

One of the best series. I'd classify it as a must-watch. Theres also a live-action movie, but I'd better watch the animated adaptation of Piano no Mori that also got praises

After i dwelled in the realms of mechas, space-travel, super-transforming-heroines, and the likes for quite some time, it was a great relieve to find a raw gem like this!

OK, in the beginning the intro made me very uncomfortable ("wtF, BackStreeetBoys???), but then i can just turn off that s***, right?

But if you can get past this, a really nice story unfolds before you.

The whole series, although dealing with ghosts, has a nice "down to earth" feeling, there is no superhero/heroine but a snotty brat with bare feet. Suddenly i literally felt the grass between my toes!

So far I've only saw eight episodes but so far, the show is very funny and has a enjoyable quality in it. Although, the story could evolve if the writers made Hanada do more besides fulfilling desires of ghosts.

This is one of those underated animes, a diamond in the rough. Hopefully a US distributor will pick this one up so I can finish the rest.

Animation where you can actually tell the characters apart!!! And not from some friggin costume! I have yet to come across a poorly made episode.

Opening animation is one of the few that I actually watch and not ff. The backstreet boys track isn't as bad as some engrish tracks I've heard, so I have no idea why some would base their score on that note.

The plot doesn't revovle around the "sixth sense" scenerio, rather it is way to tell a story about moving foreward with life after death both in the physcial and spiritual world. The most touching and humorous story arch is Souta's mother remarrying.

Ichiro and Souta retain their childhood understandings of the world, without being damn annoying. They aren't sickenly cute, like friggen Hello Kitty, but they sure are entertaining. I don't expect a 6-8 y/o to have some dramatic character evolution, but they do have depth and it's refreshing to watch elementary school kids actually act their age. This makes for a nostalgic experience.

A must watch for anyone exhausted with mecha-controlling, AK-47 wielding, blue-eyed, rainbow haired, characters with inflated boobs or biceps and kiddy faces.

This is one of those series you don't want to miss out on. Althought it completely surrounds the story around 3rd graders, the story and content not childish and enjoyable by all ages (even parents I'd be inclined to say!).

The story is of Ichiro, a boy that almost got killed in episode 1. His brush with death has granted him the ability to see dead people (haha, I know what you are all thinking). Believe it or not, it is like The Sixth Sense actaully. Ichiro must now help ghosts that need his help to be able to move on into the next world or rest easier. However, Ichiro is not really generous with his ability and usually has to be tricked or suckered into helping by the ghosts (sometimes even bribed).

The characters are damn funny and the show in general is one of the best of the year that I've seen. Combine the Sixth Sense with Crayon Shin-Chan and you got Hanada.

Drawing style is great. Not crazy purple and blue hair with eyes as big as dinner plates. More of a Ghibli style (ironically VAP sometimes gets assistance from Ghibli for drawing [ie: Lupin]).

Watch the series! Too bad subbing is taking so long, the show has finished airing completely a while ago (currently on ep 10).

this anime is awesome. the drawing is very cutesy, but not the fruity girly kind. the strongest element of this show is the story. surprisingly, it's not all out bathroom humor and mischievous antics, it has a good storyline to it. There's meaning and purpose for the main character, ichiro! Very entertaining and heartwarming anime. It can really get to you (made my gf cry :) ).

This is not your typical anime. Right off, they use songs from the Backstreet Boys for the opening and ending themes. It somehow works, although I despise the BSB. The animation is incredible - it reminds me of Miyazaki when he actually cared about what he was doing. Almost every single episode has brought me to tears (okay, I do cry easily, but this is good stuff!). For a TV series, this show is absolutely amazing. I write a lot of reviews, but this is only one of two that I rate a perfect 10.

This is an underrated gem. Very heart-warming, and so hilarious that every episode left me in stitches.

Rural country life in Japan is a rare setting in anime, and a breath of fresh air. Ichiro is unbelievably naughty, but yet he does have a good heart. Ever since he had that accident and was able to see ghosts, they had been appearing to him asking for his help. They don't leave him alone even in the loo, causing him to have constipation. ^^;;

His family members and neighbours are all equally quirky and funny as hell.

Give this anime a chance. Watch it. HIGHLY recommended.

Voices of Ichiro and his sister Tokuko are ultra-familiar, the former done by Kumai Motoko (Shaoran in CCS) and Tokuko was voiced by Takeuchi Junko (Naruto and Gon in HunterxHunter)

I've been too lazy to review the one's that already have high ratings or a lot of people have already reviewed but this series really deserves a much better rating.

It's really funny, like chibi-maruko chan and more so than hajime no ippo, which is one of my favorites.

I've only seen 3 episodes so far but I don't think you can go wrong with this one
