| (DVD rip. I mean who would buy this? Worth a rent though if you want to watch it that badly)
After watching the series I thought of watching the movie, not knowing that it actually was produced much earlier than the series.
I should have watched it prior to the series, since I found it very boring and at a snail's pace.
The characters, what made the TV series shine, here are just puppets and Kiddy looks atrocious. There are some scenes short of being considered ''tentacle rape'', more blood, nudity and much better animation than the series. The Lucifer Hawks look awesome, while in the TV series they looked like cardboards.
The story is also a mess and I wasnt interested at all in watching the alternate retelling.
Watch it only once for the animation. It sets the example of how to avoid making movies based on a manga or a TV series.

| Depending on how much you know about Silent Mobius, and when you decide to watch the movie, it'll be a mixed bag of questions that you may or may not be able to answer. Movie 1 is the first anime installment of Silent Mobius but it starts out somewhat in the middle of the story, goes on for a few moments, then starts the 40+ minute flashback to tell you about everything that happened up to that point, but ends before you get back to where you were (lets be glad there's movie #2). The story itself, if you look at it with movie 2, is really quite good although it's more of an alternative-reality to SM whereas the TV series stays very true to the manga. Animation and sound are really well done, especialy for the age. I love the character designs in SM quite a bit.
By itself, movie 1 doesnt do Silent Mobius justice. As a part of a larger series it's the first half of a good alternative depiction to the SM world.
