| Craziness and cosplay go together, so a story that has both is sure to work. Toss in a little Ecchi and Yuri, and it's a sure winner.
The story itself concerns a cosplay team and their attempts to go to the world cosplay championships (they don't get there, however.) they do go to a seaside resort to cosplay as maids at a restaurant, and battle another cosplay team.
I just wish there had been more episodes! (There were only three in this OVA.)

| Just how a like a show such as this, short and sweet. It had just enough chemistry to keep me interested through it frantic pace. If this was a series, it would have dragged on and become a parity of itself. I'm glad that the shows producers only made three episodes because that made it all the more wonderful.
All of the characters in the show are straight rip-offs of other animes, which make the settings and the things that they do that much more enjoyable as they can create wonderful costumes.
I don't recommend it to anyone not familiar with anime as they won't know what's going on and maybe disturbed by the sexual innuendos and fan service. For those of you how have some experience, it a great way to burn an hour and maybe come across shows that you haven't seen yet.

| To sum it up: Puni puni Poemy meets Comic PArty
Cosplay Complex is certainly about cosplay, and the obvious sexual innuendo and jokes associated with it.
The ecchi factor is on the level of Goldenboy here, with sexual jokes in almost every scene. NOT for young'uns.
The OVA is in 3 parts, never seeming too long or short, but just about right. The pacing is frenetic, crazy, like Excel Saga, complete with parodies and outfits galore (this IS cosplay after all) and with thesame sort of idea that Comic Party was, except not as detailed about the subject matter.
The characters, as in a lot of anime, are what makes this show work. There is Chako, the extremely cute pink haired bubbly and happy girl with the "I can do anything if I put my mind to it" attitude, which reminded me of Misaki Suzuhara from Angelic Layer.
Other characters are:
- Reika, a rather prim and proper older girl who often becomes the unwilling target of Gorou's sexual innuendos, which he reads aloud in erotic novels, usually when shes in a very vulnerable situation (its hilarious)
-Athena, a small girl who cant be older than 12, and constantly reminds the audience that shes just an innocent little girl while Jenny is trying to have her way with her (which is completely and utterly wrong and yet again somehow funny)
-Jenny, the typical blonde with blue eyes (Think Tina from Ai Yori Aoshi and you have a GREAT idea of Jenny) who is very obviously a lesbian and tries to advance on Reika and Athena
-Maria, Athenas older sister, who is very protective of her and lets out a huge scream whenver Jenny tries to get to Athena (again an absurd and wrong situation is comedy gold)
Gorou, the male of the group who looks an awful lot like one of those old kung fu bald guys. He is way over the top and often reads sexually charged prose to Reika in the background, which makes for extremely erotic sounding situations that are so wrong, but so funny.
-Delmo, an immensely cute little fairy girl with bunny ears, and a little pouch in her tail. She can be bribed with food by Chako, usually so she can literally become Chakos outfit in cosplay. If it sounds weird, thats because it really is.
Ikebukero-an owl. a funny little owl guy who can sew. Who'da thunk?
A few minor characters show up in the last episode, but Ill leave it as a little surprise.
The setting is nothing special, random places like school and other assorted anyplaces, usually with some sort of stage where cosplayers compete.
The story is pretty shallow, but somehow, this whole show comes together to deliver on its promise of whacky (and ecchi) fun and plenty of cosplay outfits to point out. Make it a game with your anime buds. I think ADV should have included a jiggle counter in this show too (it certainly warrants it) but they didnt.

| I really love it when there's an OVA that's not only short and sweet, but at the same time making every episode jam packed with whatever it is the show's about, instead of trying to tackle many things in not a lot of time. Cosplay Complex fits the bill perfectly. If you're at all a fan of ecchi fanservice or cosplaying then this show is screaming your name. 3 episodes filled to the brim with ecchi, comedy, cosplay, and even some yuri elements ;)
Love it or hate it. Cosplay Complex delivers in all the right ways.

| This is like "Otaku no Video 2000"
It's short,cute and fun to watch.It's kinda wierd to do a cosplay IN an anime,but it's also fun to try to identify the characters they were doing. Overall,a nice parody,with nice animation,funny characters,and a lot of cosplay ^___^
This is really one of the shows that you watch just for fun...kinda like a rebound anime when you just got off a long term anime :P. I would recomended this anime for the avarage otaku. =]

| Well, that was... interesting. O_O; Cosplay Complex is a fun little anime that's worth a rental. It's cute, it's ecchi, and it's fun to pick out all the costumes you can recognize. ^_^; I loved the voice acting but I hated the music. The animation was okay... pretty standard for this day and age. And the characters were probably the best thing about it.

| This is a very funny anime. Makes me feel like celebrating Halloween everyday. Its about the art of cosplay where you create and dress up like your favorite anime or game character. This is one of the better OVAs that I have seen. It doesn't have much of a story other than having fun dressing up in costumes. This series also shows some of the funnies characters you will every see in an anime. It is one of the best anime comidies to watch (At least in my opinion).

| Some of this was really funny... some was not. One thing that stands out about Cosplay Complex is the characters. There are some genuinely fantastic and hilarious people in this.
Great animation, some hilarious cosplaying (the Dr. Black Jack costume is beyond funny).
As for the story... it's about cosplaying... nuff said.
It seemed to me that there was no real closure in episode 3, despite being (apparently) the end. Of course, I watched it unsubbed, and don't speak Japanese, so...
