i would say that these series have like the most awesome soundtrack ever created for an anime.

Yeah the music is a great blend of energy, tribal and feminine influences. The vocals are very sooting. Obsession and Shine Bright Morning Light are very nice indeed.

I love Yuki Kajiura's work on .hack//Sign. It's great. She's quite the perfect artist.

Well I wouldn't say that it is the best ost. I mean Haibane Renmei OSTS O_O those were like untouchable. Yuki Kajiura has been known to create the best music. He was in such anime soundtracks such as Shingetsutan Tsukihime and Mai HiME and Mai Otome and so on. So many good songs from him... YAY!

Re: hack//sign's music -really cool! They are good, but the main failure is that they are louder than the dialogue what is spoken in it. It's really annoying, when the music starts and you can't here a thing what the caharacters are speaking. :/

Its loudness doesn't matter, since it's impossible to fully understand the true meaning of the dialogues. Just go with the flow and listen to the amazing work of Kajiura Yuki and you'll be fine off.
PS: it's a she. Though I doubt any of you who posted this like two years ago is going to read, but oh well.

Who's a she? Kajiura? I think many of us knows that already. Is she that amazing? Not really. While she does have amazing stuff like this and Tsubasa Chronicles under her belt, she also has duds like Xenosaga.
Did she produce anything else similar to .hack sign?

Madlax. Noir.
Granted, most of her music sound similar in style. You've heard her once, you can consider yourself to have heard everything else.

i agree that the music was great...
but was it just me or did anyone else feel that they overused the op song so often (like during the episode in the BG) that you got sick of it?
(it might have just been b/c i watched multiple eps in one sitting )

There is nothing I don't like about Kajiura Yuki and her musical work. Especially in .hack//SIGN the music is one of the elements that really makes that series awesome! ^_^

In addition to .hack//SIGN, Madlax, and Noir, I believe she also does the music for Tsubasa Chronicles. Correct?

Yuki Kajiura's music is good, but not great. After a while, I thought everything sounded like everything else. Like from Madlax, Noir, etc. I get the impression she's not as versatile as Yoko Kanno.
