 The actual History?

I was just wondering how much of Rurouni Kenshin do you think is actually historically backed? Are all the characters and events true? I have been pondering this myself and actually did some research on the Seki Hou Tai. It appears that Sagara and that group actually did exist and were executed wrongly. Check it out and thanks to the sites creator for his permission.

If anyone has anyother appropriate sites that give us insight into Kenshin historical fact, please post it along with any ideas and opinions.

I found this site the other day which is actually all about Rurouni Kenshin's historical background. I found it very Informative. It starts off explaining Kenshin's story and then it goes on to the history it is based on, and how it connects to the story.

http://www.ex.org/4.1/04-feature_ruroken1.html

This is actually why I'm hooked on Kenshin right now...because it's inspired me to learn all I can about the History and Culture of Japan. I actually dug up my old Art history book from college (which I always hated to read) so I could study the chapters on it. I'm impressed that a manga/anime could inspire me to go to such measures.

I hope this gives you some of the insight that you seek!

Wow! That was some interesting facts. Thanks for the article. It appears that much of the story is historically based and I love that. It gives the anime, a sort of truth, a deeper feeling b/c these things really happened. Any more sites or opinons are welcomed!

As I was watching this anime, I knew that there was some historical base to it, but didn't realize how much. Thanks for those article. Would love to see this as movie someday, as long as its done correctly.
