a Green Bay miracle... ....a Minnesota tragedy

did anyone watch the Green Bay vs. Denver game? It wasn't really the most exciting game to watch. Because Denver is locked in the playoffs they put thier second team out so that they'd be ready for next Sunday. Green Bay squashed them and at the time there was really no chance that they would go to the playoffs. Yet Favre still played a great game. The only way Green Bay could go the the playoffs is if they beat the Broncos and if the Cardinals beat the mighty Vikings. Based on the rest of the season this should've been a blowout game, but the Cardinals held them to a one point game for most of the time. The Cardinal game was close to the end and it was in the Viking's favor 17 to 6. However, something really interesting happened.

The Cardinals drove down the field (with a little bit of penalty assistance) and scored a touch down, but missed the 2 point conversion to total a 12 to 17 game. All this was going on parallel with the Green Bay game, which was the only one of the two televised on ABC. The announcers would update everyone on the Cardinal game though. All of a sudden all the Green Bay fans got really quiet. It was the oddest thing; just then the announcers said that the Cardinals recovered their onside kick and were driving toward the goal. The Cardinals tried several times to score in the red zone but were unsuccessful. They were 4th and 27 yards and made one last throw to Nathan Poole. The end result was that Green Bay is going to the playoffs and Minnesota is not.

I didnt watch it even though i live in wisconsin, and my whole family are packer fans. But I did hear the whole family scream out in victory when the packers won, even though i had headphones on and i was in the basement. *shrug*

well...there's some drama included in it all with Favre's personal life. If there's anyone to blame for the turn of events, it would be the Broncos. Hopefully they'll be demoralized enough to the point after that loss that the Colts can beat them. That last Colts/Broncos game was a disaster.
