It's only been for the NSFW forum, but glad to see we have a subsection here to make general contests.

Anime Superlatives (and contest ideas I can think of off the top of my head):

Favorite Male/Female Villain

Funniest Male/Female

Best Duo/Best Friends (not the same as Favorite Couple - this would imply non-romantic inclinations)

Favorite Musical Anime Characters Male/Female (this would be an awesome one if we could get enough nominations)

Best Youth Male/Female

Best Dressed Male/Female (in other words, who has the most sense of style )

Most Talented Male/Female Anime Character (with respect to a skill or talent)

And I think that's all I can contribute in terms of ideas.

I think of all the contests-the best Villain-male or female-or the negative character has not been contested yet-I dont know though how many options one can come up with this-off my head-I can remember-Liebert,The Count,Griffith,any of the Homunculi in FMA.

I'm keen to do a villian-type contest next. Not sure if we'llhave enough nominations. One option would be to lump both male and female villians together for the contest. That way it would be easier to fill up the starting roster. Alternatively we can run a shorter contest with a starting roster of only 32 names.

There is one problem with the villain thing though: spoilers. In some series (especially the mystery ones, the villain remains hidden). Example: One villain which remained hidden and was a big shocker to many people was Aizen from Bleach. What to do about such nominations?

Note: Aizen ain't a good villain. He is crappy at best. Just giving an example. k?

I think Last's is a great Idea, is it both OP and ED, if so that is going to be so difficult to narrow down to 5.

You could make the contest with voting options such as
1. The Villain from Bleach
2. The villain from [insert anime here]

As long as no one mentions the name of the character, those who know who it is can vote, whilst those who don't know can continue watching the show.

I agree. Let's go with the music themes. I mentioned previously that we might include insert songs. Scrap that idea. We wouldn't know the titles of those songs, unless we had the OST CDs or whatever. Let's just stick with OPs and EDs.

I'll start the nomination thread today. But I won't start the actual voting rounds until after we've gotten enough nominations (let's stick with 64), and at least after New Year. I need a bit of a break.

As for the villian thingy, I dn't think we have a good solution with the potential spoilers yet. Let's hold back on that one a while.

Well you have to remember that the Couples contest was pretty much 100% spoilers. So, keep that in mind that we have done a spoilerific contest before. I don't remember anyone complaining in that one.

Well, I just wanted to play it safe. Anyone who's OK with the spoilers, do post in here to let me know. We can do that contest after the anime themes one. Or even concurrently. As long as we have enough ideas for contests, I don't mind running 2 at a time. That'll also generate more discussion in here.

^Well I love contests. Those things pretty much sealed my commitment to these forums.

But yeah, I agree, 2 contests at once isn't nearly as long-lasting and as fun as having one right after the other. ^_^

About the OP/ED contest... generally, someone would have seen the series to have seen the OP/ED... that's if you exclude series that people have dropped, etc...

Also, are we doing just music or the whole sequence? I'd rather vote for how well an opening/ending scene fits with its music and the series as a whole.
