AnimeNfo News Blog Volunteers wanted! Hi all, I'm writing this post on behalf of shinka, who's managed to get the ball rolling on beginning the process for creating a news blog for animenfo. He's asked me to create this thread so that he can get the ball rolling.
This thread is for seeking out volunteers with helping to create/design the section (strictly volunteer basis of course), and you'd have to be proficient in PHP or CGI. Any one who's willing to help out, please make a post in this thread.

Hi everyone!
Well, as Stick said, we have a new project to start off! More than one it seems XD.
The idea is to start a place related to our beloved animenfo which would specialize in gathering information regarding anime and manga which could then be discussed in our forums.
The idea is to gather up people now willing to be commited and be responsible. I know there are a quite a few oof our regulars that can code, and of course, any other person who wants to be a hand is more than welcomed. Any and all help is appreciated.
Currently, we are just looking for people who can code, as for "reporters", that'll be later on.
We are couting on you guys! Just leave a post saying you want to help out

Sorry but I'll be the first to say I don't know shit about coding. But when you do get around to looking for "reporters" or for people to trawl the net, I may be useful.

I actually suggested something like this (news updates on the front page) some time ago, but as you can see, it didn't go very well...
*Kicks himself* I'm so lazy sometimes, dammit --__--'
I'd love to help out, but since I'm at the time has a lot to do, I don't want to promise more than I can keep, so we'll have to see what I eventually can do when this comes up.

Awesome! No help is too small. Thanks Vulcan!
I was thinking though, since there seems to be an initiative to update the forum, all coders should head over there first, updating the site is more important I belive. That means, unfortunately, that this project will be put on hold for a while, so as to have all available resources focus on whats more important right now.
Anyone who wants to be a part of this is still more that welcomed to drop his/her name on this thread, so in the future, when the project is once more
In the meanwhile however, I do invite everyone to pitch in with ideas, so as to at least advance a bit.
Everyone's name whsoe is on this thread I'll take them as volunteers and, by next week, I'll initate them in my own ideas for the page, and then we can brainstorm.
Chip in people! Now is not the time to be shy!

Whatever discussions, keep me in the loop. I log on here almost everyday so as long as you post any info/discussion in this thread, it'll get to me in no time.

Bleh, I've volunteered before but couldn't pull through for other things, but at least keep me in the loop for this. By the time things come around to actually working on this, I might actually have the time and willpower.
I should be starting a new job next week, but I have been programming PHP professionally for the past two years, and I'll still probably be keeping my hand in it in the future at the new position (though I'll also start getting into Ruby and Flex too). And hopefully, the new position will give me more time to work on outside projects than the past two jobs gave me.

Shinkipoo you know you can't leave me outta this. You know I have wayyyy too much time on my hands so if there's anyone that can do the best netscouring(sp?), its most definitely me. Other than that though I'm pretty much useless when it comes to coding, although I know a few simple things here and there.

More people! Good, good. It seems we have quite few volunteers for news searching and posting, we are however still lacking on the programmers side, so anyone who can code in php feel free to drop your name, we are needing you!
Thanks!

@hunter, could you specify for what exactly is it you are volunteering? Coding or news searching?
