Wow Death note did really well, I thought it would do well especially with best story line that was obvious I also really loved the Death Note opening, so glad they won that.
Thought Lucky Star should have got more than 2 It was a great anime, and in my top 3

Very nice, very nice.
I've still to see Dennou Coil which had already poked my interest, and TTGL (wow did this one did well. That goes to all of you who hate GAINAX, XD j/k, j/k).
Toki wo kakero shoujo has definately picked my curiosity, as well as Seirei no Moribito.
Death note did quite alright, and I have to say that I belive 5 cm per second should have won more that just 2 awards... I think there might be not enough fields in the awards..... XD
So, question, are these offical awards or just anime reactors random pick?

TTGL is epic..dont miss it for the money..denno coil i am watching now-awesome sci-fi mystery series...and as to your question..well anime reactor community each year awards animes that have been aired in the past year..so for each category there is a populist as well as a critic choice award..hence you would see for each category 2 winners..

I'm really glad that Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann got all the awards it did, although I don't agree on the soundtrack one (it was good, but not great).
I'm not surprised that Death Note won as many as it did, but I'm surprised Lucky Star won anything. That series had problems, although the "Lucky Channel" bits were good. Must have been a bad year for comedy and slice-of-life...except I've heard that Bartender was splendid...anyways, I'm also surprised that Death Note won the Best OP/ED award. Really? Really?! C'mon.
5 Centimeters Per Second definitely deserved the artwork award, and, even though I'm not too fond of the way it turned out, it deserves the best romance award.
I agree with you, Shinka, Seirei no Moribito and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time have piqued my interest...although XDragon got me interested in Seirei no Moribito a good while ago, as he only reviewed that and Gurren-Lagann . And, boy, was his Gurren-Lagann review something else!
Let's see...back on topic, I'm not too surprised to see NANA get so many awards, as I've heard great things about the franchise. However, I think I'm going to have to look into Dennou Coil , as that might be interesting.
Ah, well, I should probably shut up by now.

Yeah, I thought it'd be something like that, but what I meant was, are the awards real, as say, the oscars are for movies? Or is it just something that Anime Reactor does with their memebers? I mean, do the animes actaully earn something from winning these awards? Like a statue or something? Or, again, are they just something Anime Reactor does? I mean, do the awards hold any authoroty?

@Shinka
Well they are just awards...not the official Oscar equivalent as such..if you go through the thread it is the anime reactor community who have just judged series based on people's votes and critics votes thats all-no money making franchise or statuettes involved

Ah! I see. Thanks Slayer! So they are not oficial awards, just something that Anime Reactor likes to do. In that case, is there an oficial award?

I think that some of the results were a bit biased due to that, although I do agree that it is an excellent Anime.
