Lovely Complex There are no threads about this anime as far as I can tell, and that's a shame. I absolutely love this show, it's so cute. It's also awesome because it challenges the ridiculous taboo that boyfriends should be taller than their girlfriends. I'm not as quite as short as Otani, but I've had crushes on girls taller than me, so I can kinda relate to his feelings of awkwardness and embarrassment. Unlike the majority of anime, almost every character in this show speaks in Kansai dialect, and I love it, most of my friends in Japan are from Kansai. I highly recommend this anime to anyone who likes a good comedy and love story.

Honestly, I didn't like the first few episodes of Lovely Complex - mostly because I wasn't used to the Kansai accents. After I while, I forgot about that because the storyline got better when Risa started to like Otani . I could relate to her too, not that I'm currently crushing on someone, but I understand her feelings and I sympathize with her when she got rejected.

I liked it because it had a decent sense of humor and I could sympathize with Risa pretty well. I have to admit there were times Otani got on my nerves but I thinked it played into the aspect of hey this is more like real life than anime. The only thing I was not a fan of is that it seemed to wrap up pretty quickly, like the last episode could have easily been two, but overall would recomend this to my friends.

It was OK, I kind of was amused by how neurotic she was over her height: While she was tall for a girl I wouldn't put her at *exceptionally* tall...

very tall. Most (not all) Japanese are of much lower height when compared to the Western populace. *might be genetics or something* I remember this being used for humor in Lost In Translation when Bill Murray (who is incidentally 6'4'') unable to take a shower but can't fit under it because he is too tall to fit under it. Taking that into account, her fretting over height does make some sense.

I read the manga and I really enjoyed it, I want to watch the anime, it really cute how the girl is way taller then Otani and they like each other.
