Yay! That's two...

Well, I don't know how hard this'll be...

Edit: Really? Over 17 hours and not even a guess?

Okay... A hint?

@ Supra
If it's neither action nor mecha, I won't be able to even amount to a guess. save some anime with really hot lolies/tsunderes.

That hint makes it sound very familiar. But I don't remember that face.

Good heavens! Okay... Another hint then? (I really didn't think that it'd be that hard.)

The story takes place in a town modeled after a rural German town (There was a nice little featurette in the DVD extras.)

Bing bing! MauveCloud is a winner! Your turn!

Edit: Next hints would have been:

Correct, although technically the anime's full japanese title is
Quote:
Senkaiden Houshin Engi (仙界伝 封神演義), not just "Houshin Engi" (the "Senkaiden" isn't used in the manga title afaik)

Nah. I don't have Soul Link. Seen the anime after I found out its from Navel. What gave it away was the uniform. It's unique. The only thing I remember from the anime other than the general story was the uniform. Don't remember any character's name or face. Razz If you had used something without the uniform, you would've stumped me.

That said, I STILL CAN"T BELIEVE how quickly someone identified my Elis pic. Her hair was in disarray, she wasn't in uniform, face was in profile... Hell it should've been impossible!

All right! This one should prove a challenge coming from a not-so-well-known series. Of course, the bunny ears is distinctive, so someone who's actually seen this would already have a clue.

How many times has it been when I've already seen the anime but can't remember the characters from it.... Oh my. I'm afraid to hear what my doctor is gonna tell me about the state of my brain.

Yatta! Smile (Both at getting it right and saving my head XD)

Another screenshot (this took a while). I never finished this series the gent was in originally. I've wanted to for years, unfortunately. Sad

Edit: This is hard, I'll admit and I'm willing to just take his name and the series he's from generally speaking, but bonus brownie points if you know where this clip came from.

All right, 24 hours with no guesses, so I'll start posting some hints.

This might be a bit of a hunt.

Quote:
This still was taken from a music video made in 1998 as a part of the Memorial Box release of the series, It was based on the series made in the 80s, theme is magical girl, year is 1985. I think this was an OVA in the series franchise, so the animation quality is much better than the original series.

Quote:
This series was made by the same studio that created four of the strongest magical girl/shoujo shows in the 80s, Studio Pierrot. This series was the third of the four, and was quite successful in Japan, and had dubs in Italy and Korea.

Quote:
The VA for this character: actually played Kyousuke in the Shounen Jump Special/True Pilot OVA of Kimagure Orange Road, and had miscellaneous roles in Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist, Capeta, Madlax, and a major character role in Voltron.

Actor's right, but series and character are wrong. Keep searching, you almost have it.

Studio Pierrot did make that series, but the series you mentioned was made in 1984. Not the year I mentioned. Check the first and second clues again closely. Razz

Edit: Dammit, Daizengar found it first. The wording of that first clue is kind of misleading.

In case that wording isn't what Daizengar thought it was

Good job Daizengar. I figured this would be a hard one, because not many people have seen this series, I'm sure. XD

@Last Exile, you at least get a cookie for your efforts, you were very close. Creamy Mami was a very popular show (I saw a good portion of that series as well). Magical Emi, however, I don't think ever had a proper English translation. Or for what little it was, projects on it stalled.

If you guys are curious - I took the still from this official music video.
