The land of Cruzon is located on a world with no fossil fuels. The people who reside there possess within themselves a source of power with which to power moving objects. Anyone can manipulate at will, to a greater or lesser extent, the mineral "quartz" which is mined from the earth. People call this ability "magic".
There is, however, one person in this world who does not have magic. His name is Rygart. One day, he goes to the capital city after receiving a summons from old schoolfriend, and current king of Krisnan, Hodr. There, he receives distressing news.
During their school days, Rygart, Hodr, Zess and Sigyn were the closest of friends. Now Zess is leading an armed incursion into Krisnan territory.
