| One day, Taiki hears a strange melody, along with a cry for help. When Taiki unthinkingly replies, a reaction occurs in heart of the voice's owner, Shoutmon, and the mysterious device Digimon Xros Loader appears. The fading Shoutmon's melody is sucked into the Digimon Xros Loader, and Taiki is dragged along into an unknown world.
Taiki finds himself in the Digital World in the midst of a battle between Digimon Monsters. Shoutmon's village is under fierce attack by the imperialistic Bagra Empire and the situation is grim.
