| Universal Century (U.C.) 0001 - The announcement of the start of off-world emigration marks the dawn of a new era. While the ceremony marking the calendar revision is held at the Earth Federation Prime Minister's Residence, a terrorist attack destroys the space station La Place. In the aftermath, an artifact, known thereafter as the La Place Box, is found amidst the debris. The opening of the La Place Box is strictly forbidden. No one knows the reason for this, nor of what secrets,if any, may lie within.
U.C. 0096 - Lagrange Point 1, aboard the space colony Industrial 7 lives the 16 year-old orphan Banagher Links. There, he comes across a mysterious girl who had smuggled herself aboard Industrial 7, and the white mobile suit "Unicorn". Banagher is thus drawn unwillingly into a conflict surrounding the La Place Box.
