| It is the year 2059 A.D., on board the colonization ship Macross Frontier, the youth Alto, who dreams of being a pilot, is feeling claustrophobic.
At that moment, the famous singer Sheryl Nome arrives on Frontier as part of her tour. Present at her concert are Alto and Ranka Lee, a fan of Sheryl's.
The ship is suddenly attacked and set aflame by the alien Vajra. In order to protect the girls, Alto climbs aboard a VF-25, the latest variant of transformable mecha.
