| The light music club deals with rock music. Their members have graduated, and need new members or be forced to disband. New president Tainaka Ritsu (a drummer) is desperate for a fourth member. Hirasawa Yui is a clumsy girl just starting high school that joins the club telling them she can play guitar, along with Akiyama Mio on base and Kotobugi Tsugoi on keyboards. From this, they form a J-pop band and play together. Unfortunately, Yui has a small problem… she's never played guitar before.
