| One day, Sakai Yuuji's everyday life as a normal high school student is abruptly shattered. He is attacked by a "Guze no Tomogare", an extra-dimensional monster which devours people's "existence". Unable to escape, Yuuji is saved by a mysterious girl with red hair and eyes.
However, the girl, Shana, informs Yuuji that his "existence" has already been extinguished, and he is now merely a "torch", but one possessing a powerful artifact known as a "hougu".
Together, Yuuji and Shana join forces against Friagne, king of the Guze no Tomogare.
