| End of Edo period, aliens called "Amanto" began to invade the Earth, and the war between Earth and Amanto broke out. During the war, many samurai lose their lives. However, the Earth is no match for the overwhelming weapons of the Amanto, and surrender to Amanto. The government becomes a puppet, and the Amantos had their own way in Edo city. At the same time, the government bans the samurai from carrying swords.
The story takes place around one such samurai and his buddies who live in this hard time.
