| | An epic odyssey of life, death, revenge and discovery, Galaxy Express 999 is science fiction animation at its best, based on the long-running manga created by Leiji Matsumoto, best known for his work on the epic adventures Space Cruiser Yamato, better known in the US as Star Blazers. A young boy named Tetsuro learns more about the universe then he ever expected when he meets the enigmatic Maetel, the legendary Space Pirate Captain Harlock and the icy Emerladas on a quest to avenge his mother's death. Set in the same world as Yamato.
