| Micainat Empire is an ancient civilization revived, in order to conquer the world; they sent battle beasts that were several times stronger than machine beasts of the Mikenese Empire, although Mazinger Z had beaten the machine of Dr. Hell, it was still destroyed.
It was a robot that looked like Mazinger Z that saved Kabuto Koji, the pilot of Mazinger Z. Being afraid of Micain's revival, Koji's grand father, Kabuto Juzo, had made his son, Kenzo, develop a robot to fight against Micainat. The name of the robot was Great Mazinger, its power was far stronger that of Mazinger Z. The pilot of Great Mazinger was Tsurugi Tetsuya, who was an orphan and had been raised by Kenzo. He was trained to be a pilot since he was a child. To help him fight, there was another robot, Venus A.
The pilot of Venus A was Hono Jun, and she was an orphan, too.
