| The year is 2xxx AD. Numerous comets have been detected entering our solar system, raising concerns that some of them may crash upon the Earth causing mass destruction on the planet's surface.
Therefore, under the aegis of the Cosmic Crisis Management, mankind built a Comet Impact Station high in earth's orbit. This Comet Impact Station is equipped with Space Shock Machines with which to eliminate comets before they can reach Earth. The Space Shock Machines are flown by female pilots known as Storm Troops, and are armed with special missiles designed to smash incoming comets into small pieces. Those girls quickly become famous and are nicknamed Comet Blasters.
Many surface-based Comet Impact Stations were also set-up on Earth as a second line of defense. In the event that large comet fragments should make it past the Comet Blasters, they can be engaged and destroyed by Meteor Sweepers who are based on Earth. At the same time, these Comet Impact Stations on Earth are training facilities for young pilots to become future Comet Blasters.
