| | Duero is the doctor of the Thunder. When the men were taken prisoner he noticed that a women (Barnette) was hurt and that Paiway (a nurse in training) wasn't doing a very good job. Duero stayed behind and bandaged Barnette. The women took him on board the women's ship along with Bart. Later on in the story Duero is found to really like parfait, and he has a strong attraction to her. Duero was also not on the ship when the praxis exploded so he is not linked to anything. Duero soon becomes the head doctor of the Nirvana (which dosn't make paiway too happy) and is respected by many of the women for his talents.
