| Otonashi Kyoko is the young and beautiful new manager of Ikkoku-kan, a very old apartment on a hill outside suburban Tokyo. Kyoko decided to work in Ikkoku-kan, owned by her father, after the previous manager quit. She saw her new job not just as a chance to take on more responsibility, but also as a way to stay close to her family. Kyoko is a very emotional woman. As much as she tries to hide her feelings, her face is as readable as a book. Because of this, the Looney Gang constantly tease and play with her just to get a good laugh.
