| Otonashi Kyoko is the young and beautiful new manager of Ikkoku-kan, a very old apartment on a hill outside suburban Tokyo. Kyoko decided to work in Ikkoku-kan, owned by her father, after the previous manager quit. She saw her new job not just as a chance to take on more responsibility, but also as a way to stay close to her family. Kyoko is a very emotional woman.
