Title:
To Go Like a Man
Summary:
The first battle of Mars rages as a tulip crashes to the Utopian colony. Akito and others are hiding in underground shelter and we meet Ai. Jovians attacks the shelter and Akito transports to Earth in terror. Nergal reveals the Nadesico and introduces Prospector and Goto. Seiya, Megumi, Ruri, and Minato are recruited. Yurika, Jun, and her father prepares for departure. Akito chickens out at his cook job and gets fired, and fately "crash" into Yurika. Gai is introduced while Akito gets hired as cook. Howmei and her crew are introduced as well. FINALLY the Jovians attacks the Nadesico and Akito unwillingly became the decoy and allows Yurika & the Nadesico to foil the attack. Also, the "old" admiral is introduced. Conclusion: this episode is too long, but it is an intro episode.

Title:
Leave the Blue Earth to Me
Summary:
The Nadesico flies about, but the United Forces wants to use it for their own purposes. Sets up an ambuish and persuades Yurika to shut down the ship by pulling the master key. Military personelles takes over Nadesico and imprisons them, while Yurika, Jun, and the Nergal people discusses situation with the United Forces people. The "annoying" admiral is introduced. Meanwhile back at the Nadesico, the crew retakes the ship by force and Yurika and Prospector returns to the ship just as when a tulip attacks and swallows two of the United Forces cruisers. Akito and Gai attacks the tulip and further shows off the Gravity Blast. Conclusion: more introduction, also sets the basis of Yurika and Akito's relationships. It also digs up some dirt on Akito/Yurika's past.

Title:
A Goodbye That Came Too Soon
Summary:
The Nadesico heads for mars. Durning the UN meeting, Yurika requests the deactivation of the "big barrier." Despite desperate attempts at stopping the Nadesico from escaping the Earth, Jun leads a squad of interceptor mechs to confront the Nadesico, but ending up joining them instead. Nadesico forcefully breaks through the barrier, but the captured military people onboard Nadesico escapes and kills Gai. Conclusion: Gai dies. "annoying" Admiral dude is bad. Akito starts to get messed up.

Title:
Charmed by Aqua Space
Summary:
Nadesico reaches space colony, but it was destoryed right before Nadesico gets there. Intruder boards the ship while damaging it. Hikaru then is introduced to the depressed Akito, while Ryoko brings the new 0-G Aesti frams onboard as well introduces Izumi. The 4 of them then explores the wreckage of the colony and fights the possessed Aesti frame. Akito kills it. Conclusions: the pilots are introduced, while Akito and Megumi's relationship blossoms (they kissed).

Ruri's Navigation Logs
Summary:
Nadesico proceeds to Mars, but was constantly harassed by Jovians. Yurika and the command crew holds funerals for the Nergal colony destoryed. Akito gets more fustrated about cooking and piloting. Megumi moves on Akito, while Yurika is just tired. Ruri's and Howmei's personalities are explored. Riot breaks out over male/female relationships and Nadesico reaches main Martian Jovian fleet. They go out and ... it ends. Conclusion: this is a relationship episode. Sets the mood for the next arc of Akito's moods.
