Subaru Sumeragi is the 13th generational leader of the Sumeragi Clan, the rival clan of the Sakurazukamori clan. He is a spirit medium, although his existance holds deeper meaning...
In the year 1991, the year when the Tokyo Babylon story begins, Subaru is viewed as a young spirit medium living in Tokyo with his sister, Hokuto, and his friend, Seishirou Sakurazuka.
It is soon discovered that something very, very deep is going on in the storyline, only briefly hinted at throughout the story... in the form of a simple bet.
The bet between Subaru and Seishirou, under a Sakura tree.
In the follow-up series, X/1999, it is revealed that Subaru is also a 'Dragon of Earth'.

Inoccent little Subaru Sumeragi. This is the main character . He is only 16 years old and has a twin sister named Hokuto.Head of the sumeragi clan he is the one to lead the clan and is the strongest omnyouji in Japan. He is naive and is not really self-dependent. His sister picks out his wardrobe and is always wearing gloves(yes the gloves have something to do with the plot but i won't tell what). He can preform excersisoms(<-not sure if spelt rite) and is known to help the police in some cases. He wants to be a Veterinarian ,like seishiro, in a zoo. He also is in the series XTV (X/1999).
