A Death God, Jealous, fell in love with Misa and saved her life. That was WRONG Death Gods are only for taking lives, not saving them! This is the only way Shinigami can die, so Jealous dies and gives his remaining life span to Misa. The only thing left was his DEATHNOTE so another Shinigami, Rem, stole it and gave it to Misa because it was now hers.Misa is devoted to Light(Raito). Light just plans to use her but Misa is not smart and leaked out a lot of information to the investigation team! She is often troublesome and brings attention to Light because she is a famous supermodel!!! Light once thought "I want to punch her!"lol, he didn't punch her T.T Misa has the "Shinigami Eyes," which allows her to kill by just looking at their face. Her eyes allow her to know someone's name and how long they have to live. Even though it cuts one's lifespan Misa could afford to except the deal because her life span was very long because of Jealous.

A young girl who has an immense crush on Kira. She is a Famous model, and tends to wear clothing in "Gothic Lolita" style.
Misa's parents were killed on the street, the criminal's trial was delayed multiple times - due to the lack of evidence - it appeared he would be released, however the murderer happened to be one of the criminals that Kira kills. When she heard of Kira, a person who kills criminals that the police and officials cannot arrest (And those they have but not tried/sentanced), she felt the need to be with him to join him on his crusade againt criminals.
Misa is totally devoted to Light, and she has said once that she loved him "At first sight". Light however, views her as an assest to his plans.
