Konoka looks a bit like Mutsumi and behaves a bit like her in that she is friendly to a point where she is slightly flirty towards Negi. She is Asuna's roommate and best friend and always eager to cheer Asuna up or show how much their friendship means to her. Konoka is the grandaughter of the prinicpal and has vast magical energy within her, not knowing this until the Kyoto Arc where she discovers Negi is a mage. She thinks Negi is so cute she refers to him as Negi-kun. Konoka is very close to Setsuna, some suspect she might be romantically interested in her childhood friend and Negi as well.
In the anime;
Not much of a change to be honest, but she blames herself for the death of Asuna and seems to break down when Setsuna leaves.
In the manga;
While never stated in the anime, Konoka doesn't seem to care if anyone thinks she and Setsuna are an item.

Konoka is the great-granddaughter of the school's headmaster and roommate to Asuna and Negi. Sweet, lovable, kind and caring, Konoka acts as a motherly figure to Negi, though on some levels she also seems to have the same feeligngs for her little roommate and teacher as the rest of the students in class. Although, when it comes to the girl Setsuna, who has been friends with and protected her ever since childhood, seems to harbor romantic relations with the mysterious girl. Because her great-grandfather is a mage, Konoka has dormant magical powers deep within her and during the saga in Kyoto, is saught after by a deceivingly giddy and bubble-headed woman.
Her classmate and friend Haruna has something of a dirty mind and convinces Asakura, Ayaka, Yue, the cheerleading group and a confused Chimese that they are an item. Konoka doesn't mind a bit, but Setsuna does.

Konoka is the granddaughter of the principal.
She is nice and motherly, if not dense at times.
She is the roommate of Negi-Sensei and Asuna-chan.
She is also the childhood friend of Setsuna-chan.
