Asuna looks like a younger version of Naru from Love Hina with red hair, trailing red pigtails and small bells. In the start Asuna hates little kids like Negi and is deeply in love with her former teacher Takahata. She also seems to loathe her classmate Ayaka for various reasons (though aside from romantical preferances and things to do for class they're not made clear what those reasons exactly ARE). Asuna has a wicked kick which is increased when she became Negi's first Pactio partner and a firey temper. She is also rightfully ashamed of being a Baka Ranger, the dumbest of them, and will often take her frustatrion out on Negi. Asuna's roommate and best friend to Konaka and later sees Negi as a friend. Some suspect she loves Negi.
In the anime;
No change in personality or status, except when she was younger she could not be effected by magic and made a deal with a demon; demons would stop stalking her, but she could only live until her 15th birtday. After she dies she is cremated. In order to save her, Negi travels back in time and meets an Asuna close to his age. Many suspect that the words the 14-year-old Asuna was trying to say before her death were "Negi, I love you".
In the manga;
Regretably, because Asuna is considered attractive, she is the victim of many perverted situations that resolve from Negi's sneeze or botched magical attacks.
Whether or not she has the same ailment as her anime-self remains to be seen.

Asuna is like Naru Narusegawa from Love Hina in both similar looks and attitude. She's not afraid to curse when she feels the time calls for it and is extremely assertive and powerful in terms of kicks. This girl, for some reason, hates little kids and instantly hates Negi and tries to throttle him--this earns her his unintentional habbit of clothing-tearing sneezes--and she becomes extremely mad when she realizes the 10-year-old took the place of the teacher she had a gigantic crush on. She's the first of the girls who discovers that Negi isn't a regular human and threatens to expose him unless he makes her a love poiton to give to her crush and in the meantime used him as a guieni pig in flirting with the easily flustered kid.
Negi has written her as "Big Meanie", then later "Not That Mean". He's also put "Killer Kicker".
Poor Asuna is more-or-less the victim of perverted spells.
Asuna is insanely powerful physically, her kicks can tear down a door and really do some damage to demons summoned by villinous characters. Her power seems to increse when she becomes Negis' partner and is able to pack more of a punch in her kicks and punches.
Although she hates Negi as much as any kid in the beginning, she soon comes to care for him a lot. Some tease her as getting a crush on him.

She was known at the beginning, as a person who hates kids and likes Takahata. She still says that she likes Takahata but it doesnt seem so since she has been hanging around Negi more ofter. Also her opinion on hating kids seems to have changed as well.
Also she's Negi's first partner, she agreed to it under the circustance of Evangeline's attack.
