Azuma Kazuma's number goal in life is to create "Japan," a bread which carries the essence and identity of his country. He also has the legendary "Solar Hands" meaning his hands are much warmer than normal. This makes the bread ferment faster and makes it taste better.
Kazuma may look like an innocent little kid to you but don't underestimate him. He has over 55 bread recipes and is very smart for his age.
Together with Kawachi Kyosuke, Azusagawa Tsukino, Matsushiro, Kinoshita Kageto, and the lastest addition to the gang, Shigeru Kanmuri, Kazuma may be able to achieve his dream.

Kazuma is what most people would consider an idiot. He has absolutely no knowledge of any bread other than the ones he makes. He has made so many different kinds, though, that he has come up with all the tricks to bread making that professionals have trouble with all on his own. The only things he knows anything about are bread and rice, he is also suprisingly good at math. He is an honest and nice kid who often mishears what others say, making a funny comment on what he thought he heard.
